PS: Doing absolutely nothing for 40+ pages then only coming in the thread to ***** about someone being likely confirmed doesn't exactly inspire me.
If that's all you got out of this exchange, then you need to learn how to read.
I asked for information about a role, which you did not provide until asked again, asked for clarification on why the assumption is made that role is town, and explained my stance on confirmed vs not confirmed townies.
If you're willing to reduce that down to "***** about someone being likely confirmed" I'm cool with that. Just so long as you're aware that it is disengenuous, adversarial, and does absolutely nothing to help the town win the game. You do want to help the town win the game, don't you?
And I don't think it's worth speculating what role CP is. The guy has 3 votes. Strikes me as unlikely a multivoter of that amount would exist unhindered amongst the scums, doesn't it you?
There are a couple of problems here.
1. This doesn't actually answer my question. How does the mechanic work exactly and why is the assumption that it is generally a town aligned mechanic held?
2. I'm trying to fit displayed abilities into a logical picture. The entire game is a system that can have multiple outcomes depending on the inputs provided. I'm trying to understand that system so that I can better predict outcomes and probabilities. So speculating on what kind of characters might have that ability is somewhat helpful.
3. I've seen some wacky abilities goto scum, I am disinclined to just accept on face value that a given role wouldn't goto scum. Particularly so in an Azrael game. Let me ask you, have you ever seen a scum doctor?
I give significantly higher credence to mason claims, and uncounterclaimed cops, but essentially I do not trust anyone's alignment until I see their corpse on the floor.
Well, based on CP's early posts, the pattern I suspected was there based on his recent trend is not. So, I'm not sure why he's come out guns blazing waving his multi-vote around. But frankly, I don't even want him to answer that.
I fully disagree with Loran - until otherwise disproven, multi-voters - particularly with more than 2 votes - are generally town. If, down the road, CP cannot demonstrate his ability to continute to multi-vote, it should be considered fully suspicious. In fairness to loran's other point, though, this is (an Azrael) specialty, so the balance of power may be different. Some things are hard to overcome in weighting a setup, though. A scum with three votes- that'd be awfully tough.
So, until we can suitably "check" his voting ability or have a better idea of the scope of overall power, it should be assumed he's at least "more likely town than not". Tossing a wagon on CP today is ridiculous.
Proxy vote to Carrion Pigeons
Here, have four.
Forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere in the thread and I haven't seen it yet.
I have played a lot of mafia elsewhere and I have never seen a multi-voter that works like this. Please, someone, explain the mechanics of this ability and why it is almost always a town ability?
Also, if this ability functions the way I suspect it does, flavorfully it appears ot be some sort of an influence peddling mechanic. If that is indeed how it works, given the flavor of this game why would it be assumed that this is a town ability?
The only character I can think of who would really fit an inluence ability is the Merovingian.
Hey guys, sorry I've not been around. I've been busy with the family this last week. I'll get caught up and take a look at the thread and post my thoughts.
It will probably be sometime tomorrow before I have anything serious to add.
Current Games - 2, one of which I expect to wrap up shortly.
Experience - Lots, not so muchg here, but on other sites.
Familiarity with Setting - High.
Roleplaying Ability - The nose plays.
Participation Level - Medium initially, then I really get into the games.
Posts like this are what make people less inclined to care about what you have to say, and focus more on how you say it- which is not a good thing in mafia. (see Alfred in WD2, and RafK earlier in this very game.) Aside from being condescending and arrogant in the few days you've been involved in this game- I do find that most of your points have had some merit. Don't ruin that by turning everything into a personal battle.
The first one was an inside joke. Azrael knows me from elswhere, so he would appreciate the humor.
The second was more of a frustrated joke. How else do you respond to a post that is so completely wrong? I can't sit there and engage in a tit for tat, elsewise I look like I really do have something to hide. Yet at the same time I cannot just let it pass. That is now the second time he's made that same remark (or a variant thereof) and if I keep ignoring it I'll get hammered by someone. Basically, I was in a no win scenario there and I exited it as best I could.
There are a number of people who have argued that I might be Neutral, but I don't think they had SK in mind. Wouldn't my play be a bit bizarre for an SK ? No matter what happens to me now I have a big, glowing "keep an eye on me" sign above my head for the rest of the game. No good if I'm trying to kill everyone.
If I'm a Neutral I pretty much have to have some bizarre alternate win condition that I could feasibly pull off after four or five turns but well before the game end. Because there's no way I should survive until the end (unless I get cleared by a hypothetical third investigator at some later point).
Hey Armlx, Remember when you were talking about WIFOM earlier?
This doesn't prove much if anything, you were fingered by an investigation early. That changes your entire play for the game.
Do you really think that is what I was doing?
Interesting...

Doubtful.

I was looking forward to continuing this game. Oh well.
If all we're going to do is discuss abilities, then there's no real point in continuing the day.
I'm ready to place that final vote any time. Just let me know.
Vote: Unvote
At least until we resolve the Kokusho/Bateleur situation (also hooray for one month day ones!).

Posts like this make me redouble my prayer for the ability to punch people in the face over standard TCP/IP.

That still leaves the more likely of options, that he is a serial killer.
