    When's the wedding, again?

    June 5th, 2010.

Speaking of addicting games, I'm itching to buy Scribblenauts. I'll likely get it next time I go to Best Buy.. probably this weekend if I can get a ride there. The Wii is going down to $199 so I'm gonna replace my broken one.

I think you'll like Scribblenauts, it's pretty entertaining. I'll admit, the main game mode does tend to wear itself thin before too long when you realize that there are a couple dozen words that can be used to solve most problems, but if you just try not to gun for the gold and go with your creative instincts, it's pretty amazing.

Speaking of... I can't say much about my ability to be there right now, because I'm unsure of what I'll be doing at that time. I could very well be teaching, in which case the longest holiday I'd get in June would be a weekend. On the other hand, some schools offer 6 month contracts, so, you never know. If I can, I'd love to be there.

Yeah, I know that. It's not a big deal if it is too much trouble. Honestly, and don't take this the wrong way, I had already sorted of counted you out, given that we've known for some time that there would be difficulty getting back into Ohio around then.

Same here. If I can afford/manage the trip, I'll come. I'll let you know when it gets closer to the date.

As long as it's not too close to the date. Making this work on my budget means planning a lot of things way in advance, so the sooner I can know, the better. I would prefer it if everyone had RSVPed by January at the latest.

I am still working on star ocean 4: the last hope for the xbox 360 but I want to finish it sometime soon. I'd recommend it to anyone that's into console RPGs.

I was really excited for that game, as I'm a huge and long time Star Ocean fan, but I was a little disappointed by it. It was a bit too linear for my tastes, and I've never really taken a liking to Edge. At all. He sort of makes me crazy. My nickname for him is "Baby Head".

I keep going back and forward on that one, based on how much money I have at the time. Which probably means I'll end up spend so much time trying to work it out that it'll be too late to do anything.

Well, whatever you can manage is fine, like I said, it's much more important that you show up in June for the wedding, especially since you so foolishly volunteered to help. By the way, do you have any experience carrying a giant litter?

But at any rate, if the fall trip is going to be a problem of any kind, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You know damn well there isn't anything to do here, and seeing the world's biggest basket and watching me girlishly try to finish off ***** drinks at the Lock aren't exactly the kind of memories that carry a lot of replay value.

You should always think twice before doing something that foolish.

Totally forgot to say on FB, so happy anniversary, Danica! Hope both you and Brad are doing well. God, that means it's like 11 months since I was out there...

Speaking of which, are you still planning on coming out again sometime this fall?

You can stay in an igloo and ride a moose to the subway station, then get on the fabled TTC and check out the Hockey Hall of Fame and watch as busy Canadian beavers build yet another condominium tower downtown, out of Douglas fir shakes glued together with maple syrup. Grin

Would it have been too much to ask for a tacked on Celine Dion reference?

Her education is extremely expensive, so it does put a pinch on the budget.

Not that I care, I love her and would prefer to live with her.

It just makes the need for me working more, and thus having less time for school, all the more prevalent.

We've flirted with the idea of getting her to go through college first and get her career going before I go back for higher education. That would spread the costs out and make them more manageable, but I worry that I'd just get comfortable being a workin man.

And if you do get more comfortable? I mean, it's always a good idea to get a higher education, but if you are happy otherwise... what's the drawback, exactly? Don't cite lower earning potential, either- because the operative part of the entire scenario is comfortable, meaning you're not struggling.

Obviously, if you have a personal goal you can't risk, it's a problem, but if you are still sort of finding your place, it isn't a terrible idea. Just be sure you aren't banking entirely on her finishing school and supporting you later to get back to school, because plans can always change.

Also, I have already demanded to get married the same day of our current anniversary

It would have been nice for us to have been able to do that, but considering the hell my mother put me through trying to establish a functional date, trying to shoot for something that specific would have been a ridiculous endeavor.

Currently, I am looking for lodging with my girlfriend of two years, so that will help with the finances.

What won't help is that she's taking classes at a private university. Facepalm

@Alacar, Friendship? I thought you two were dating.

Are you implying that her education is very expensive, and as such she won't be able to contribute much to your household expenses, or is it more of a psychological thing where she'll somehow make you feel like a schlub for not being in school at the moment?

Yeah, and seriously, friendship? What are you, lesbians from the 1800s?

Photon: Funnily enough, I've wanted to start a conversation with you on facebook a few times, but wouldn't you know it, there was somehow always an stick-in-the-butt type of christian schoolmate nearby me when I saw your name in the chat window ^_^;.

What the hell, why do I always hear this? I'm not Anton LaVey for pity's sake! Just talk to me, you big woman. I promise I won't flood your screen with porn and swear words and get you kicked off campus or anything remotely like that. If anyone asks, just tell them I'm your dad or something.

One year is very impressive to someone who's never had a relationship before ;).
The first year anniversary is always pretty special, but it's amazing how things take off after that point. The first year is almost like a gestation period for the relationship as a whole, everything after that gets a lot more serious and grounded. It's a pretty big milestone.

Yukora: How about just taking online community college then transferring? That's a route I'm considering.
I second this, or even just taking a few classes at a local community college on the weekends if you can. If money and time is an issue, you may be able to get some financial aid to help pay for housing so you can cut back on work, giving you time to do both. Or maybe even look for a roommate to cut costs? I'm not sure exactly what the situation is, so I can't say if that will help or not, but bills are easier to pay if you can split them- in general, anyway.

Congratulations on one year, Omna, and good to see you, Mr. Stuff, KK, and even Psi around here. And all it took was Photon Eater peeking his head in. If we got him, Ethersphere and Mamelon back we'd have a real party, ya think?

Oh God, none of that now.

Daidream and I have known each other since last October, so we're approaching a 1 year friendship ourselves Smile
What date, exactly? On the 22nd of October, we "celebrate" (I say celebrate in quotations because we probably won't do much of anything) our 7th. It will be weird to change that come next June. I may petition we don't just for the sake of simplicity. It'll be a bit strange going from "we've been together for 7 years" to saying "we've been married 1 year" or whatever. It's almost like a reset. Of course, we could also do that whole "been together X years, married for X-7" thing, but that would make us sound like one of those crazy on-again-off-again couples, I think. Whatever, ultimately, I'm too drunk to really care most of the time, anyway.

Yeah its awesome that the house is getting back together especially with the forum awards approaching. Wink

Oh God, I've got to get out of here and fast, then.

Where are you these days? I miss our chats.

I am not on messengers much anymore. I hate to admit it, but basically the best way to contact me online is via Facebook, which means at some point I either became an obnoxious college sophomore or her mother.

Primarily, outside of that, I've been keeping pretty busy. We spend a lot of time with family, Josh and I somehow picked up a hag somewhere along the lines, and we spend a lot of time with her. Plus, there's wedding planning and baby planning, both of which are going too fast and too slowly at the same time. When we have free time, it's usually spent on a game of D&D or playtesting M20. Haven't touched MTG or done the whole online community thing for a good long time, but for some reason or other tonight, I suppose I got bored enough to dive back in.

Primarily, I had set the whole night aside to see just how many obscene things I can do with the game Scribblenauts, but my preorder copy has mysteriously vanished in the mail, leaving me with nothing better to do.

Yeah, life hit me like a ton of bricks. I am currently out of school and working roughly sixty hours at wal-mart with a second job. I miss my life.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that, buddy. That is how life goes, though. You'll bounce back, and be better for it in the long run, though.

    Hey Photon Eater.

Are you returning to this place full time, or just stopping in to say hey?

Yeah, I don't see this being much more than a one night gig with the potential for an encore presentation.

I totally walked into that joke, too... I shouldn't talk about being nude at all.

    Fixed that for you, sir.

So, seriously, though, Danica doesn't post here anymore?

My room is a 10'x10', and it's a small apartment with a furniture-less living room. My rommie is planning on getting more to put in there. I'm paying for all utilities and internet, though I did have to replace my wireless card. Only one shared bathroom, and that's rather small. It's within a 10-15 minute walk from the college campus.

So it's 350 a month plus utilities, or 350 a month including utilities?

Regardless, it should be fine for a first place, though. It's a liberating experience. How much time have you spent walking around naked? Wait, don't answer that.

So, what's up with this place? Who's gone, who's new, who's dead, who turned evil, who's frightening the hell out of Sepiriel?

The P&PI has been finding a steady resurgence in your absence... after a long drought of gaming. The Coffeehouse has slowed in its discussions but it's still a good place to drop by and chat a bit.

Alacar, I don't care about all of that. :p

I guess it's true what they say, you can't go home again, though.

It has been a pretty good year for me, but you know most of that already. It's nice that you are out of your parents place, that's always exciting. How big is your apartment? 350 a month is sounding almost too good if it is a two bedroom deal.
