Couple thoughts, add hedron crab for instant mill, add retreat to valacut for infinitely high power creatures and prevent everything else from blocking, retreat to hagra allows infinite drain. Tunnling geopede deals infinite damage. Those are all the 3 cmc or less instant wins i could find. Plus its T3 possible.
T1: land sakura
T2: land and lotus cobra
T3: land, retreat to Coralhelm. Go off worth a bounce land, gaining infinite mana off cobra and then playing any of your kill conditions.
I like a BUG shell as black gives you options especially with a dredge base. Plus you can add tasigars as a beat down option that can delve hedrons from the graveyard. Also if you go bug you can always run smallpox build in the sideboard to hedge against the enevitable GY hate.
Why not savor the moment as its only 1UU and you don't care about the untap step of your winning turn. Plus it let's you more easily play your timewalk with counter(s) backup. Also, Id switch barnished harts for snap casters as its useful to be able to re-use cantrips as you have to find all 4 Hedrons. Plus i would suggest finding room for disrupting Shosl as, again, another way to exile a hedron plus if you add snappys you have CMC 1-4 as counter spells for "free" especially for that crucial turn you tap out.
the advantage of of going Sultai is really Life from the loam this allows you to return 3 cards from your Graveyard for both 3 more Petitions as well as consistency and and control. (as you can ravens Crime your opponent to simply strip they're hand and play straight control.
so what Percent of a land is each cantrip especially like Serum Visions? If you run a full play set can you effectively cut 1 land, 2 or even 3? in a basic combo/control like Twin, or Grixis Variants ect currently I have 24 lands +4 visions and the highest cost spell is 4 how many lands can be cut due to Serums draw +scry?
gonna suggest you go grixis as it allows you to 1. run discard to help protect Guildmage and 2. lets you run Kholagan's Command whice is an amazing utility card and brings back Guildmage should he get removed or discarded.
well you can use illusionist bracers to actually remove two of the combo pieces. 2 Kiora's Follower+illusionist bracers makes infinite mana or untap triggers. you can cut Karmetras favor and desciple if you want as Kiora's Follower can untap lands. I actually ran this combo last standard it was fun but very weak to creature removal.
now that that is out of the way, why is it that every deck i see or build with blue in it starts as a base of 4 serum visions. it also seems like every blue deck also then goes 4 lightning bolt. I would say close to 50% of the meta runs these 2 cards in full playsets even if they're not focused in either color, Jund, UR Delver, All grixis variants, Jeskai builds from conntrol to tempo to aggro, Temur Delver, Sacapshift pretty much the only major deck I can think of that doesn't run either of these cards is Junk or Mono Black. even Black builds I've seen have had red splashed for Lightning Bolt.
So why is serum visions so much ahead of all other U cantrips, and other cards like Visions of beyond get next to no love, even though in the later game when you top deck it it could be so much better? I know why Thought Scour and Gritaxin probe isn't replacing serum but why none of the others? is scry that powerful?
I haven't read all 111 pages, but the lists didn't look very up to date, what are peoples opinions on running summer bloom or explore as a 2-4 copies for extra ramp?
