Does anybody have a good answer for UW monument? I'm thinking of siding abrade just to keep the monument off the board and have an alternative to take out spell queller. I'm also thinking authority of the consultant just because it comes down early and is harder for them to remove than Thalia.
Has anyone tried Inventor's Goggles? I know it seems a little clunky but it makes lists that run Toolcraft Exemplar along Inventor's Apprentice much stronger when you pull them late game, plus it helps apprentice pilot. If you run Pia Nalaar it can also help keep her alive to sneak some extra damage through and doesn't hurt as a sacrifice.
Here's what I'm running, got 3rd place twice at a couple standard events this weekend, only lost once each time to keeping bad hands and mismanaging my shocks.
At work right now and headed home, I'll explain more about how it plays later. Obviously I'm playing with what I have otherwise there'd be more Kiran and Gideon, etc. For now I do think that Gideon of the Trials is underrated as his +1 has worked stellar for me and his Emblem equally so.
As I recall, the mardu vehicles deck was interesting because the player literally splashed blue just to run the Ceremonious Rejection. To be frank, it's the one good answer to all the colorless cards running around right now, both eldrazi and artifacts. I may very well buy up Spirebluff Canal just to afford the splash myself as it's quite literally the only instant speed answer for copter next to Immolating Glare.
I mean, you could just go the 4 aether hub route and use Harnessed Lightning, it was one of the most used red removal spells. I actually only saw Fiery Temper when being ran along side of it in discard or burn.
Been testing a black splash and I never want to play this deck without Scrapheap Scrounger again. Insane value. He keeps coming back to crew your vehicles (and with 3 power can crew everything), and is an artifact for your cards that care about artifacts. Splashing black also gives you Unlicensed Disintegration which, as the RB aggro deck has proven, can highhandedly win games in one blowout turn. Strongly recommend trying out the black splash.
I was thinking about that too after checking out the RB Copter Madness thread, what's your list? I'm more interested in how you facilitate the splash with the mana base. 4 aether hub should work with a couple RB or WB lands
Hey everyone, longtime MTGS forum-goer, recently got re-addicted to the cardboard crack with Kaladesh, loving the flavor and very solid cards for standard and other sets to boot. I haven't been able to do much testing yet so there's plenty of critiquing to be done, but here's an aggro build I've gotten so far.
It's pretty straight to the point, I may have focused a little much on getting early artifacts for Toolcraft Exemplar with the 4 Bomat Courier, it seems Thraben Inspector does a similar job but I like the idea that Bomat can take full advantage of the pump spells and swings turn 1. I haven't seen him perform his ability yet, but in theory he's good to have past turn 3-4 if you can keep him alive and drop him early. While it may seem Built to Last is included because of him, it will stand on it's own consistently to pump blocked creatures and prevent removal. Skywhaler's Shot has been equally life-saving, providing a good choice for alternate removal aside from Fairgrounds Warden, and Fiery Temper which is often hits their face for the win. The sideboard is just thrown together depending on if we see mass-sweeps, need to speed up wins, or expect long games, etc. Start your engines has proven to be effective even if you only have 1 vehicle, but the route I've been taking Fleetwheel Cruiser is obviously the better choice.
I like Skysovereign, Consul Flagship, but this isn't supposed to be mid-range as much as it is fast beats, that's why I only have 2 Fleetwheel Cruiser and 3 Sky Skiff (Which I think is underrated due to the hype is big bro Smuggler's Copter has gotten). You want to hit that 2nd turn Toolcraft activation if you can, and turn 4-5 should be the turn you pull out the win. I want to find room for Renegade Freighter, but Pia Nalaar seems to be the more versatile choice for that slot. So far I might take out a Bomat for a Warden or another Fleetwheel, or replace him altogether with Thraben Inspector. Similarly, I would like to find room for a couple Built to Smash main-deck as it can really speed things up as well, Built to Last is better so far though due to not being constrained by attack triggers (Similarly Skywhaler's Shotvs other removal is worth the extra 1-mana for instant versatility and not being locked down by combat triggers {Scry is also super nice gravy})
Personally, I'd make this straight up BW. The main argument for red is ascendancy but I feel like you'd have to slow yourself down too much to work it. Caves of Kolios is also cheap. Anyway...
If you wanted to go mardu, you could always be really janky and play 4 mardu ascendancy, 4 foul-tongue shriek, only the best 2 drops, and a bazillion 1 drops.
This is great, I would just drop a land for another Sorin, and replace the harsh sustenance with valorous stance.
I'm trying out Warriors because I want to play a pure aggro deck and I don't think you can really go underneath people now with stuff like mono red. So let's try a game that go beyond turn five without piddling out.
Looking at Warriors, I see two options available. You can go BW and still have enough gas to make a solid 60, but Mardu would obviously provide more powerful warriors. BW definitely would be the more consistent version. You'd get to play more basics and curve out more frequently, which is pretty important for an aggro. However, since we're brewing, I can't resist trying the Mardu version.
I've wanted to build around Tymaret since I saw the card. I've just never got around to doing because other sweet decks keep creeping up. But here's the chance! A card like Tymaret and a deck like Warriors both demand a high creature count to close out its game plan, so voila! Here's what I'm trying now.
Also I'd run Defiant Strike over Ajani's Presence or Gods Willing and put those in the sideboard as well. Also since you already have the black there's no reason to not try and find room for 2 Murderous Cut as it will cost you 2B most of the time.
Kin-Tree Warden is supposed to have Morph. I thank you for doing the heavy lifting but it seems like I'll have to go through and edit it myself if I want it done right...
Just FYI, there's something in it that crashes the card filters. To be more specific, the edition/set list disappears invalidating the rest of the filters.
i can load the edition and add the cards to a deck, but when i try to load the deck its like the set doesnt exist... is it possible for anyone to put the data base file hiere?
This is pressing as it's the main reason most of us use MWS. Helps making building decks so much easier, now I have to search through gatherer and it's more annoying than it sounds
Heartbeat of Spring anyone? I'm pretty sure there was a lockdown combo with Yosei, The morning star as well. It was a part of every healthy meta at one time as it's natural prey was the mid-range deck. Too slow to kill it before it went off and too fast to have the hard control to completely stop it.
Also, it's apparently because modern is full of combo which makes wizards afraid to put it in standard.

This is great, I would just drop a land for another Sorin, and replace the harsh sustenance with valorous stance.
I would take out the Bellowing Saddlebrute for Hero's Downfall just in case they hit Elspeth and to clear Siege Rhino out of the way. Also, I think that Spear of Heliod is faster than Raider's Spoils and also counteracts Drown in Sorrow and you should be fine on Card Advantage with Athreos and Bloodsoaked Champion. Also, 4 mana confluence is necessary.
Sideboard should go something like:
Also I'd run Defiant Strike over Ajani's Presence or Gods Willing and put those in the sideboard as well. Also since you already have the black there's no reason to not try and find room for 2 Murderous Cut as it will cost you 2B most of the time.
And just to fix your curve a little, I'd take out Abzan Battle Priest and a High Sentinels of Arashin or two for 3-4Hopeful Eidolon so you can get Ajani's Pridemate to trigger easier. You should be already winning by turn 4-5.
Overall good deck and I like the interactions you were trying to create.

Did this for fun focusing on a speedy turn 3 win. Obviously it could use work. I'll post a UWR artifact version soon, seems better tbh.

Yours has the same problem
Also, it's apparently because modern is full of combo which makes wizards afraid to put it in standard.
I was using Brimaz, King of Oreskos but I guess Goblin Rabblemaster is faster, just less staying power which is important for this deck, it can fizzle fast without an active military intelligence.
I have no Counterspells or real removal, and I run 12 1cc creatures. Stay out of my thread if you're just going to spam.
