Nice report. Magic is sometimes about luck. I was playing my PTQ QF vs mono red. He had a Gargadon Isolated. When he suspended another Gargadon, I was ready to scoop. Instead he passed the turn. OMG I got my invite to Valencia after that. Heheh. See you in Valencia.

Personally I think MtGO is a great tool. I played some matches on MtGO, mainly drafts and sealed leagues. It's great espeacially for new players to learn how the game goes (stacks, combat damage, etc.). When I first learn the game with paper Magic, I only know how to cast spells and attack. It's only after watching and studying games at FNMs that I learn the more advance stuff in Magic.

All said, nothing in MtGO can compare to the feeling of playing competitive Magic. GPTs, PTQs, GPs and PTs are high level tournaments that can't be found online. I went to PT Nagoya last year. What an experience that was. The travelling, the excitement, beating a Pro Player, not making Day 2 (hahah), watching Pros argue about card evaluation and challenge each other on the subway!!. You can't find all these things with MtGO. You can play online with the program managing all your stacks and resources. Can you 'bluff' your opponent about you life total (ala Terry Soh)? Can you make poker faces about your sucky hand?

All said, I think paper Magic is the real thing. MtGO is an extension to it. I am not saying that paper is better than digital or vice-versa. Both has it's pros and cons.

I am sorry if I sounded negative about MtGO. I ain't. I am just trying to give a picture of what's being not said about paper Magic. I am not good at putting my thoughts into words. Hope you understand what I am trying to say.
