How does Jace "solve the answers aligning with threats problem"? Find it hard to stick him on the board. And how about Shalai, Voice of Plenty in this deck?
How about using surgical extraction instead of nihil spellbombs, since you can use SCM to flash it back. And why not remove all street wraith since it's a grindy match and they have burn spells? I would keep in kol command too.
Thanks for all your replies. I agree with what many of you said, that Grixis DS can grind better. Playing Jund/5c DS against Grixis DS feels bad since most of their removal are live against us while our pushes and decays can't hit their delve creatures. But I do like the power level of the individual cards, which feels similar to GBx.
What's the reason to play Jund Death Shadow over Grixis Death Shadow? Although I like the power level of the individual cards, I feel that Grixis has more staying power.
Not sure if this question has already been answered, so I apologize if it has. Torpf mentioned in the first post that fetches trigger on Retreat should go towards untapping KOTR. But in the video, Lantern mentioned that shocks and basics trigger on Retreat should go towards untapping KOTR. So which one is correct?
Are the 10 discards and 2 nevermore sufficient against combo and tron decks? How about using Leyline of the Meek with a split between raise the alarm and BB to improve our speed against them?
How about running 4 Leyline of Sanctity in sb to help against RDW, although it sucks if you flip it with bob. Surgical extraction also helps against combo decks
Hmm but having to tap out to cast either Illusory Angel or Talrand is pretty risky, and Illusory Angel is still a magnet for many spot removals apart from lightning bolt. With Lingering Souls becoming more popular again, I wonder if they are a good addition at this point of time. I think Vendilion Clique is still better than Illusory Angel
Thanks for the replies! I initially thought that this strategy was more for spot removal decks such as BG/x, burn and UWR since we don't have many creatures. Against combo decks, shouldn't we try to land threats as early as possible to finish the game fast?
I do have 3 goyfs, but have been delaying getting the last one haha! I did consider RUG delver, but with blood moons, fulminator mages and tectonic edges running around, I was unsure of the mana base
Hi Manturras, congrats on your prize and thanks for the report! Just curious about Deprive and Counterflux. How is Deprive good in the first few turns when you need as many lands on the board as possible? And what did you side out for the 2 Counterflux in the UWR match?
I'm also pretty new to UR Delver, and one of the challenges I have is making my creatures stick. If I were to delay casting them to have mana up for counterspells, eg. turn 2 delver with spell pierce in hand, won't it slow down the game and be counter-intuitive to the aggressive nature of this deck?
