The card replaces itself. That's it. Sure, it's a land when you need a land (but costs G so it doesn't help you in that turn, just in the next) and a spell when you need a spell. But it's completely random.
You may say 'reduces your deck's size' but as it doesn't have scry nor gives you any choice whatsoever, I'm not sure it works for us in cube. Constructed is another story.
I don't see how Bind the Monster breaks blue's identity.
Tapping-and-not-untapping has been in blue like forever. Being dealt damage, or paying life as an additional cost-ish? I think we are way past the times where that was black-only. Extending it to blue-black-red seems logical. Also, Phyrexian-blue mana has existed for a long time.
The Dino is interesting because it's likely that it will bring another creature to the field with him. So a removal is not the end of the world.
But 7 mana is a lot.
PROs
- Its ability can be used the turn this enters (but 3+6 mana sounds imposible).
- It supports counters.
- It can put counters on itself, so it's at minimum a 4/6 flyer, so it's the strongest common flyer period.
CONs
- 6 mana is a lot.
- Doesn't have a ETB ability.

Meh.
Bushido 2. This is not bad, I think. Not very different from a 2/2 frist strike in the first turns.
I don't use subtype-matters cards in my cube, but I could see someone interestid in this for a swarm/sacrifice deck.
It's expensive, but has a good ETB ability and doesn't die to LB.
I guess works on swarm only?

Recursion engine, but it has to attack. The body is not bad for that, though. A single pump, evasion or protection and becomes dangerous.
For those who have a control-and-sacrifice theme, and do not run functional copies or strictly worses, this is a good side-version of Act of Treason.
No, it is not a strictly better, as with AoT you could equip a controlled creature with your own equipment, and this card punishes you if you do.
Ninjutsu enabler? probably not good enough.
Way better Strider Harness, but probably still not good enough.
Downgrade, but I don't know if it's better than the big black creatures we have right now.
But 7 mana is a lot.
I don't know how to rate this.
