Shinobi would see play if Baleful Strix was in modern. Baleful would be excellent already in UBx, and would often go unblocked if attacked with. Would allow Shinobi to swing in, get you extra value, and return Baleful Stix back to hand to replay. Snapcaster is not bad, but more prone to getting blocked, hence leaving Shinobi lose some of its value.
This card only really outshines wastes if you have a bunch of creatures out. Most of the time its basically going to be a Scatter the Seeds. Overall you could argue Flurry of Wings is just as strong, considering its offensive and defensive potential.
I see this being another Aurelia's Fury, but with a much lower initial price.
This is my top of the head creation. Wants to produce lots of creature, or lots of mana, or lots of draw. Singleton commune with lava which gives us X card draw and instant speed use of our mana if we face board wipes or simply have mana to dump.
*** Edit. Been testing the deck casually on MTGO (fun cause its very cheap). Bushwacker likely to go to at least 2. I had issues with a finisher if I ran out of steam and couldn't storm enough. Commune with Lava I moved to two. Gives me a card draw/mana dump when I am not hitting Fecundity. Not sure if Faithless Looting would be better, but the instant speed of Commune came into play in one game. Commune is a bootleg Sphinx's Revelation in this deck.
I think against mirror your better playing Champion of Lambholt than Falconer. It gives you another growing creature in a stalled match, and eventually allows you to swing mostly unblocked. It makes your late one drops have some more value, a good target for exalted, and uses Mayor's boost well.
My friend added fetches and splashed Red to his Stompy deck to include revolt creatures and protect against blood moon (more Gruul Aggro now.) I don't play a blood moon deck anymore, but it makes sense that splashing red negates a lot of the blood moon impact to the deck.
I played my Tron deck (which had a near perfect record against his stompy deck.)
First game I took pretty easily. Pathed his AotR, turn 4 Karn, and went from there.
He updates his sideboard and said this game should be more interesting.
Game two I get smashed. I drop a turn 3 Wurmcoil, his turn 4 start he plays Kari Zev's Expertise, cheats in a Vines of Vastwood, pays kicker, swings with Wurmcoil, a Renegade and an Experiment One. Next turn I drop a Karn, but I couldn't stabilize and he swings for victory next turn.
Third game was almost as brutal. Had to mulligan to a mediocre starting 6 cards. I had sided in both Thragtusk. On turn 3 he drops a Strangleroot and swings in with it, an experiment one and a Scavenging Ooze. I try to path the strangleroot, but he targets the geist with Blossoming Defense. Turn 4 I drop a thragtusk and oblivion stone, gain life. His turn 4, he hits me with Kari Zev's Expertise targeting the tusk, and cheats in Atarka's Command, hitting me for damage and boosting his board. I lose.
Just wanted to give you guys some of my feedback, since I also have a stompy deck, but his use of going G/R, and his interesting side-boarding was something to note. Both Command and Kari Expertise were sideboard cards for him. Otherwise the deck was basically a stompy deck.
Kari Zev's Expertise felt busted to me. After played against it a bit, I would have tried to play Karn, but against aggro I find wurmcoil really stabilizes the field. Stealing a beater, juicing it for free, and getting tokens if it dies (treason effects let you gain the tokens he reminded me) is just a tough play to defend against.
Just impressive really. With Fatal Push possibly having an impact on the environment, I can see Kari Zev's Expertise being a modern playable treason effect,at least for sideboard.
Batman, I would recommend you start your own deck creation post please. Your deck seems radically different than the current competitive deck, and arguably isn't stompy (this particular forum states its the mono-green version reallying on pump spells on its first page.) I would look forward to comment on your own unique deck creation than just side-tracking this forum.
That way if your deck after time shows success, your forum article might be promoted to competitive rankings, or perhaps merge with Stompy. I understand your excited by the new cards, but there is a deck creation section for people to express their deck ideas they are excited about, especially if they alter the deck significantly.
GB Hardened Scales has been tested heavily in the past. Nissa has been tested in other deck designs. But I would be happy to review our play-testing elsewhere.
(Also I would make recommendations for going full Jund. To many reasons not to if your using fetches.) If you start your own forum post, let me know and we can discuss.
Snake should be GU-
This +1/+1 counters in Black stuff feels forced
This DOES kinda feel like a U/G card, but I think the doubling counters YOU get thing kinda feels Black.
\\
The snake is a solid card. I think it could have been U/G.
But to clarify, there is no doubling of counters going on. Only 1 additional counter is placed on. It is basically Hardened Scales, it does not have the Corpsejack Menace ability tacked on.

Yeah, an 'okay' 1-drop in standard merfolk, otherwise bulk. I think the adapt cost could have been a single blue, especially on a rare.

The issue is when this card shines, your likely already winning the game.
