Most robots aren't really "human" to any degree, at best they're insectoid.

Insectoid? Have you seen the crazy life like robots Japan has been making recently? 0__0

The only kind of technology I don't approve of are robots and androids, it's getting to the point now where they are so life like that it breaks the fabric of current society.

It seems like we're hearing more about robots, machines, and androids in the media these days especially in our society. The latest issue of GQ Magazine features a Robot Scientist who built 1-2 life-like robots similiar to what Japan was doing to where they can communicate and respond back to humans as If they were human.

Before then was IBM's famous Supercomputer "Watson" that recently won on Jeopardy! while stumping human contestants Ken Jennings and some other guy while trying to "prove a point" while giving money away to charity, then when Whoopi Goldberg or Oprah was offerred to interview Watson she declined being as creeped out about that aspect I'm not surprised.

Why is it that humans are trying to turn science fiction into reality to jeopardize not just the normalization of society but also to change it drastically in a way where it could have devastating consequences?

When is enough enough? Since the 1980's and earlier we've come a long way in advancements in technology which in some cases are associated with extra-terresterials or aliens from outer space utilizing technologies they have possibly used and re-discovering them in the 20th and 21st Centuries. If anyone's seen Ancient Aliens on the History Channel you'll know what I'm talking about.

But this topic is about the future of robots and machines here on Earth and it seems like with the rate technology is going these days it's coming alot sooner than later, I'll admit the kind of technology we have these days is great but I'm fearing that humans are already going too far with it to the point where it just doesn't seem natural. It's already happening as we speak.

For the Villian Role of The Dark Knight Rises, Clayface would be interesting considering how messed up Hollywood has gotten over the recent years, Bane would make sense though, I was disappointed of how Two-Face had a minor role in the last film but Heath Ledger was a good Joker.

Now If the new villian is the Red Hood it would make sense given the absence of Batman's sidekick Robin in the last 2 films. I can totally see Red Hood in The Dark Knight Rises. The last 2 films didn't indicate any relevance to Jason Todd let alone Dick Grayson the 2nd Robin but I guess we'll find out later.

My main disappointment with the Trigun Movie was that it doesn't take place where the Anime ended where Vash defeats his brother Knives. The Bebop Movie however just seems like filler as it didn't feel relevant to the Anime storyline of course most Anime Movies are like that but it'd be great If they didn't.

Out of all the Live-Action Anime/Manga Movies, Dragonball Evolution is by far the worst. The casting is horrible and the choreography is nowhere near as good as the fight between Neo and Agent Smith in Matrix Revolutions, heck that kind of fight scene should've been what most of the battles in Dragonball Evolution should've been like.

Oh but I just only hit the tip of the iceberg, it gets much worse cause there's already plans for a sequel for Dragonball Evolution and I can assure you that it will be the worst thing to happen in Cinema history since M. Night Shyamalan's adaptation of Nickelodeon's hit series, "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

Maybe the sequel will prove me wrong, who knows but what I do know is that the sequel for The Last Airbender isn't going to go so well since they basically crammed episodes worth of a series into one movie without any kind of consistency whatsoever.

The reason why I think this movie will do horrible at the box office is due to Sam Raimi , Tobey McGuire, and Kirsten Dunst calling the Spider-Man Movie franchise quits.
Spider-Man 3 could've been better however the director just wasn't "in tune" with the hardcore fans of the Spider-Man franchise of the Comics. Instead of Spider-Man 4 we get "Amazing Spider-Man".

This was one of the reasons why Venom and the casting for Eddie Brock was a letdown. We could've had Jim Carrey play Carnage in Spider-Man 4 but it was never meant to be, I would've loved it but considering how Joe Quesada took one of my favorite Comic Book Superheroes of all time and crushed it in the Comics of the current Marvel Universe Continuity, that made me drop Spidey altogether.

If there's anything that killed Spider-Man it was Sam Raimi and Joe Quesada. In the Comics Retrospective Peter Parker reveals his secret identity to the world, is forced to divorce MJ, makes a pact with the devil (Mephisto of course), is thrown into exile by the U.S. Government in Marvel Comics after the events of the Marvel Civil War, and worst of all he's still a cash in despite those flaws. Gee Marvel, why not just kill Spidey off permanently that would suffice for having to kill the Human Torch off to justify Chris Evans playing Captain America when his role as the Human Torch is basically null and void.

Kinda ruins the aspect of a Fantastic Four Movie crossover with the Avengers now doesn't it? What's next is Robert Downey Jr. going to play another superhero besides Iron Man to mimic Chris Evans? Has this been the first time a Hollywood Actor has played the role of 2 seperate Superheroes?

I don't like the direction Disney and other Animation Studios are taking 3D to be honest. Sure it seems like a good idea however it just doesn't feel right, does anyone notice how Hayao Miyazaki is taking what was great about Disney films during the 80's and 90's and basically took it to his advantage? Films like "Spirited Away", "Ponyo", and
"Howl's Moving Castle" all were great successes while Animated Movies in America are just cashing in on the 3D Gimmick ONLY with no real effort on it's other aspects.

The last film that Disney produced with the classic animation we grew to love was of course "The Princess and the Frog" which was and I'm not trying to be racist here sort of a cash in on Black Culture in America yet when Disney produced a new film afterwards they just go back to the same 3D animation like with Pixar and Dreamworks over again. Chances are Animated Kids Films these days just aren't as great as they used to be like the Don Bluth films.

Yeah Toy Story was an exception I'll give it that, so was The Incredibles which wasn't too bad I suppose. I just don't understand why people don't get that "less is more" especially on the aspect of Horror/Slasher Movie Remakes. Not everything has to be in High Definition or HD but they feel it makes it better I guess. Much like how Black & White colors made films from the 50's and 60's classy, film and animation during the late 20th Century had that hand drawn animation without too much reliance on computer technology that made it classy.

What ever happened to taking pride in your work? It just seems like we're depending too much on technology to do all the work for us instead of doing it ourselves by our blood, sweat, and tears. Sure it saves time and money but it doesn't equal to good quality and I know good quality when I see and hear it. If there was a film made by both Don Bluth and Hayao Miyazaki that'd be a match made in heaven, only one can dream. Smile

Yeah Nostalgia Critic is pretty funny, some of my favorite reviews from him was Junior and the Top 11 Most Awkward Christopher Walken Moments. Other members on the Website that have interesting videos and articles IMO are:

    * Distressed Watcher/Amazing Athiest - Yeah some of my friends don't like him but he's known to post some interesting videos every now and then.

    * Linkara - Loved his review on the Power Rangers series.

    * That Dude In the Suede - One of my favorite members before he departed. Then MarzGurl took over for him (sort of) as well as Masako.

    * LordKat - Until We Win, that is all.

    * Spoony - Yeah he has MANY videos that I like.

    * The Cinema Snob/Brad Jones - Great Bootleg Movie Reviews as well as "Brad Tries".

    * Todd in the Shadows - Gives the lowdown on how bad the current Music Industry has gotten.

Games of other Genres get pushed aside because to the mindset of Video Game Publishers and Developers, FPS's make the most money and are proven to make the most money for them while they refuse to take the risk of making Games of other Genres to appease gamers who enjoy other Game Genres that are either tired of playing too many FPS's or just want to try something they've played before or something new that doesn't always involve killing people or a simulation of it at least which are what most FPS's are just simulations of Military Action, killing people to relieve stress, or falsely being used to support terrorist organizations in real life.

People ALSO risk money by creating boring, derivative games. In the defense of the shooter makers, the big name ones so far have been very good, although admittedly I find them cliche, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they're good examples of what they are.

But what's the point of creating boring derivative games If they're not innovative? Most FPS games besides the very early ones such as Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein 3D, and the like just seem very cliche cause it's basically the same thing over again.

Don't get me wrong I used to enjoy those classic FPS's back in the day but now it really seems like the majority of the video game industry is beating it like a dead horse, yes it works but it's senseless and I suppose it makes for a good stress reliever.

    Quote from Jimbo »

Nintendo goes by the philosophy that if you beat a dead horse hard enough, it'll move around like it's alive. Seriously, you complain about a lack of innovative games and then hold up Nintendo?

Mind you, it's the fact that Nintendo makes or distributes games based on other game genres other than FPS's that make it interesting and I don't see how the analogy of beating a dead horse applies with this. The way I see it is that Nintendo just has better games that don't always involve straight forward shoot 'em ups but also has strategy and thinking involved at least with some titles at least.

I'd correct that to two "Wizards" duel in Garage Arena.

I'm not sure If anyone remembers that before the M10 Rules and that junk probably before Lorwyn that players were actually considered "Wizards" instead of "Planeswalkers". Ignorance is bliss I guess...

But beside that the YouTube video was pretty awesome with the classic Generation I Pokemon Game Music. Definitely love to see more videos like it.

Personally though I think there are too many FPS games out in the Secondary Market. The problem is that these video game developers and companies are too afraid to take risks and try new and old genres that were popular back in the 90's like Side-Scrolling Platformers and Beat Em Up games like Streets of Rage. With a down economy they don't want to risk losing money cause we live in a society where people take video games more seriously than they did 2 decades ago.

The Video Game Industry needs to take itself less seriously and bring back the "fun" games that made the industry great back in the 80's and 90's. At least make new games based on past genres that doesn't always have to involve killing people and such cause it's just getting old really fast. I think that's one of the reasons why MMORPG's have become more popular cause FPS just lack the kind of creativity and ingenuity that video games have had back in the 90's. Why can't we have that again?

You look at a company like Nintendo that makes all these great games because it brings us back to our glory days in the 90's when games used to be great. Heck Nintendo games even Pokemon are still great that came out in the early 2000's are great cause you can never go wrong with Nintendo. You also have all these great franchises such as
Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, the sky's the limit. Why can't other video game developers and companies learn from Nintendo?

Another thing I'm noticing that video games these days are neglecting is Music and Soundtracks, you take a look at games Japan is making like the Persona series and just about anything Capcom and Namco produces and it's just amazing. Namco's Golden Age was infact during the PlayStation One Era with Tekken, Ridge Racer, Ace Combat/Air Combat, among other great titles all of which had fantastic music involved due to the hard work involved by Japanese composers and such.

What do FPS games have? None of that. GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64 was infact the precursor to the FPS Genre infact it started it everyone knows that however one of the reasons I liked the game was due to being based on a James Bond Movie and for some reason since Rare called it quits with Nintendo to work with Microsoft there hasn't been a good James Bond FPS game since, sure there was that one called "Tomorrow Never Dies" or "Die Another Day" for the PlayStation One however that bombed completely.

I'll admit me and my cousins used to play Multiplayer on GoldenEye like crazy, it was the most fun aspect of the game ever especially with Perfect Dark where you had a futuristic setting especially with the cheap X-Ray Sniper Gun. You can only drive a Genre so far and because of that mindset where developers think "success equals money" while ignoring other game genres they think that FPS's are the ONLY thing that sells in today's video game market while that's not entirely true.

Then you have ignorant politicians complaining on how some FPS's like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Bulletstorm are supposedly causing violence and sexual assaults in real life cause today's youth has an easy access to it when their parents aren't doing their job telling them what to play that's appropriate for their age and what they shouldn't play. The fault is somewhat to blame on the person playing the game itself, If they don't have the common sense to distinguish between fiction and reality they shouldn't be playing the FPS in the first place.
