Isn't that what happened 3 years ago when the Recession we were under started and former President Bush gave that stark announcement about the Economy? The fat cats on Wall Street played a role as well but that could have lead to it I'm assuming.

If we had another Recession If things aren't fixed by August this year we could be seeing a Double-Dip Recession or something that is far worse than what we could imagine. I've heard rumors that Bush sold us out before Obama got elected but I hope it's not true.

I'm not sure If foolish stocks being made on Wall Street in the Stock Market played a role in the recession we are under, I'm sure it has but I'm taking it that the weight of the World Economy lies in the hands of a stock broker. That and possibly corporate greed where the markets are fixed to screw people over even with oil prices.

Any real way to curb it? I mean how do you expect the U.S. Government to make cuts in spending while hurting the Debt and Deficit with foreign aid especially what Obama is proposing where he's going to give $1 Billion in aid to Egypt's Infrasructure and Jobs when that's another step closer to screwing the United States in the end.

Oh yeah there was also that attack on Libya to try to get rid of Qaddafi a couple months ago (U.S. must spend), A No-Fly Zone there? (Spend tax raise the Debt more). That's costing the country lots while hurting the Deficit and the National Debt and their solution is like well let's just raise the Debt Ceiling by delaying ourselves from going into Default where everyone goes bankrupt.

When the U.S. hit the Debt Ceiling 3 days ago they sort of "delayed" things until August instead of a soon as possible solution in fixing the National Debt and Deficit. I just don't get why the Obama Administration isn't doing a good enough job on this, Unemployment is still at 9%, sure gas prices are still around $4 to $5 a gallon for the National Average but they're slowing decreasing. The Economy is improving but very slowly due to the European Debt Crisis among other reasons.

Why can't we just withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, let Pakistan deal with their own problems and focus on trying to get the United States back on track. Though there's probably some tensions going on with the Obama Administration and Israel recently compared to how the Bush Administration got along better with Israel's Government and their own problems with the Palestinians.

Well anyway I didn't want to stray too off-topic, I'd just like the U.S. Government to focus on fixing the economy without having to rely too much on the United States playing the role as the World Police. Sure they have their reasons for it and it's for the safety of the world but it's been costing us big time especially with the "somewhat" success with Iraq and the failure of fixing Afghanistan, bad enough If the U.S. decides to go to war with Pakistan since that would be a very dangerous move on their part.

    What do you guys think?

I remember starting a thread like this several months ago or last year about the supposed Internet Kill Switch and was brought briefly back up again in the middle of the Middle Eastern Revolution in Egypt when Mubarak shutdown internet access in Egypt temporarily, shoot China is just as bad If not worse in terms of internet censorship.

Turns out that it hasn't even been passed through the House and the Senate since then otherwise we would've heard it by now so yeah no worries. Besides doesn't the U.S. Government have enough problems on their hands already? like raising the Debt Ceiling and fixing the Economy? Why add more when we can worry about it later.

So you're saying that in order to avoid an environmental disaster we have to sit and watch gas prices reach to astronomical levels and further harm the U.S. Economy?

It's not like a hurricane is going to hit the coastline of Alaska and after what happened with BP a while back they're no longer in charge of the oil refineries in both the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska.

The Supply and Demand system is broke at least that's the way I see it anyway. What can be done to stop this corporate greed that's already infecting the oil and gas prices nowadays? Who wants to pay $6 a Gallon by this Summer?

The Obama Administration told the Justice Department to crack down on swindling and fraud in the energy markets that produce oil and gas like ExxonMobil among others maybe even Shell.

It's been awhile since that investigation was made and yet there hasn't been any reports recently regarding the kind of swindling and fraud that's corrupted the oil and gas industry because apparently everyone is too focused on Osama bin Laden's death right now.

With gas prices going up like crazy to $4 a gallon, $6 a gallon in Hawaii as well how come the U.S. Government is unwilling to tap into our Alaskan Oil Reserves to curb the price of fuel, especially when there's rumors that Gas prices are expected to fall by early June?

Are they worried that an event similiar to the BP Gulf Oil Spill will happen in Alaska as well? Is that why they're hesitating on it? What do you guys think? My fear is that gas prices will never go down regardless of how much they stabilize it's usually not to the amount that people want because the oil companies want as much money as possible. Financial Slavery?

It makes me sick that the big Oil Companies especially OPEC are dictating the lives of every American like what they're doing right now. Want to go on vacation during the Summer? Well too bad most people can't afford it these days because of greedy scumbags and the U.S. Government not doing anything about this problem in the first place.

Where's our alternative fuel source? Why no Electric Battery powered cars, oh that's right cause the Big Oil Companies are preventing that alternative energy source from being made public. In order to stay in power they don't want people and other companies in America to get new energy sources for transportation. In return they are making themselves rich while the rest of the country's economy continues to crumble...

Think about it, there's more and more people playing MMO's and MMORPG's than video games from console systems like XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, or handhelds like the PSP and Nintendo DS.

I'm concerned that it's becoming a growing problem, what do you guys think? Of course you're using your computer to play the MMO's or MMORPG's but I think it's getting ridiculous. At least that's my opinion anyway...

Need a Female Bidoof? Just use the PokeTransfer to send one from a Gen IV game onto Black or White, it's not that hard. If that's not the case are you trying to get a DW Ability with Bidoof?

  • posted a message on Boston Bans Soda Drinks...
Well soda drinks do add calories but then again there are soda drink products with zero calories like Pepsi Max, Coca-Cola Zero, and Pepsi One. The problem with Pepsi Max is that it has twice as much caffeine as regular Pepsi yet If it had the same amount as regular Pepsi I think people would be drinking it more.

With the way Pepsi Max is, it's like as If Pepsi Co. is forcing people to go with regular Pepsi while taking in all those calories with a low quantity of caffiene compared to Pepsi Max which has more caffeine for no reason at all at the cost of zero calories while taking advantage of people becoming obese drinking regular Pepsi, sounds unfair doesn't it?

There's absolutely no reason why people in Boston should be banned from drinking soda If they have access to soda with zero calories but have the same amount of caffeine content as the original product, If they don't like Sprite or 7-Up then kudos. Pepsi and Coca-Cola are partly to blame for this as a way to make money off of misfortune.

This is one of the most unconstitutional bannings ever, the city of Boston, Massachussets has banned the use of fountain drinks and soda including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, 7Up, Mountain Dew, etc. and their reason for it is to try to curb obesity in Boston. Sure drinking soda is unhealthy but in some cases people are addicted to caffienated drinks and losing that access is like losing life support and thus they could die.

All this does is cause more problems than fixing them, If you're going to fix obesity and people being overweight then do it some other way without taking away people's freedom to do so. If people want to be fat they can be fat cause it's their choice, it shouldn't be the Government's job to tell them that they can't drink soda in Boston cause it's an infringement to the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

@CSJ: I mean overall, Obama is selling out america. Not on a specific front, but across the board. As to your other comment, the rebels are already al qaeda. How could it possibly make sense to supply them?

Is he even aware of it? I don't understand why the Obama Administration
is supporting al-qaeda members in Libya it just doesn't make any sense. Instead of helping the rebels we should take them down and get ahold of their oil somehow.

What If maybe the Libyan Rebel Factions don't end up becoming Islamic Terrorists and join the ranks of al-qaeda and the Taliban or that sort of nature, what then? What If that what they're really after is for freedom and democracy for the country of Libya itself and that does seem logical when you think about it.

    Quote from Metal Elvis »

I think Obama is a figurative "Uncle Tom" in that he appears to be selling out America hand over fist. I guess that's what he meant by "change."

You mean Obama selling out America in turns of hurting our Economy further with more Government Spending which is something we shouldn't be doing right now? -___-

  • posted a message on Bomb Qaddafi's Libyan Army?
I don't know If anyone mentioned this already, but people are saying that Qaddafi isn't a threat to the world or the United States and that Obama is sort of repeating the same thing Bush did back in the early to mid 2000's when he invaded Iraq without Congressional Approval. WMD's whatever, the U.S. thought back then that Saddam Hussein was a huge threat to National Security but they made a costly mistake in doing so.

The U.S. is under 3 wars right now with Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Libya it's high time to withdraw all our troops out of there. The Government Spending used with the Tomahawk Missiles that the U.S. fired in Libya to take down Qaddafi's forces as well as the
No-Fly Zone there is only hurting the U.S. Deficit and worst of all also hurts
the U.S. Economy in the process while further slowing down recovery not to mention the European Debt Crisis also slowing recovery down as well.

Oh wait the reason why the U.S. invaded Libya was because of the oil there sort of like what we did in Iraq when the real plan was to get ahold of their oil it wasn't just about overusing our role as the "World Police" to try to bring about democracy in Iraq which I'll admit was a good thing but I think invading Libya was the wrong move and the U.S. cannot afford to go into another war as the economic crisis in America and other countries is proof of that.

It's a messy quagmire for sure. I guess President Obama is one of those people who thinks that our country is "too big to fail" when he decides to take Qaddafi down when he wasn't even a major threat to begin with not as major as Kim Jong Il or Ahmadinejad. Sure it's bad for Libya but what I'm trying to get at is that the United States has been playing the role as the "World Police" so much to the point where China is telling us to back off and let the Libyans handle the situation themselves.

  • posted a message on Which cards would you like to see reprinted in M12 ?
You're right about JTMS, uberly broken and the biggest printing mistake WOTC has made since Skullclamp from Darksteel. It was bad enough with the Cascade mechanic, free spells out the wazoo? What did we learn from Bloodbraid Elf?

Any reprints Wizards of the Coast makes will most likely associate to the metagame that Standard is currently under by fixing whatever problems it has depending on what popular decks are being played.

The way I see it unless I'm wrong feel free to correct me, Wizards of the Coast doesn't care anymore about making reprints of cards for the Type 1 Casual formats especially Kitchen Table Casual. They will only reprint cards that appease Standard players and EDH players. Because EDH/Commander is all the rage right now apparently.
