I really wish I could be excited for things. All of the crossover stuff is just a no. So that crosses out a good chunk of things on the list. Secret Lairs aren't my thing either, and they're just reprints anyways, so at most sometimes there is art to look at. Commander Legends is DnD (we just had it), zero interest in more of it especially with such a tight turn around (and it's still a crossover). I don't really know what Double Masters is for, but looking at the old one I don't exactly see a ton of interest. Which then leaves the planes. Two Dominaria, neither of which interest me (I get that it's for the 30th anniversary but still), especially as the latter is Artifacts. Kamigawa, except that they likely lost the entirety of why I liked about it given what it looks like and is called. And New Capenna which... isn't to my liking either (mildly miffed too that they're giving demons their own plane while angels still haven't had one). So it's really... blah.
What it says, basically just looking for ideas. I just don't really like Artifacts for some reason so I'm seeing what can be put together outside of them. I'm pretty flexible with what I consider Ramp too, stuff like Sunbird's Invocation/As Foretold to cast spells for free or cheaper are things I'd be willing to count. Hoping to find things I haven't noticed yet, curate a list eventually, ideally repeatable stuff that isn't reliant on combat or if it's single use it can do more than create Treasure Tokens (though I do still have Brass's Bounty on my list for now, and enter the battlefield could be something I abuse).
Just a question, what happens if you cast Fury and it’s the only available target? Is it required to deal damage to itself? Someone told me that the “divided as you choose among any number” part let’s you put any as “zero”, as zero is a number. To me it reads like “you’ve made the damage, the only question is where it goes”, so if you have damage made then it most go to Fury if nothing else is there.

I mean, that would certainly be a neat thing to have happen. I kind of doubt it though given part of why it happened is they don't want Innistrad to change too far from it's horror stuff.
Btw now that almost all standard sets comes with a commander deck the commander decks that are released each year (and are not linked to a standard set) kinda need something extra and i guess this will hopefully be it. If this is the case then congratulations to wotc team, they went above my expectations on this one.
Are they sticking with that? I thought that was a feature of "Year of Commander" or some such (was that this year? I thought it was but COVID makes it all blurry), but I'm on board. Even if it's a bit aggressive.
You previewed ZERO werewolves in the MIDNIGHT HUNT initial preview?!
You want them to slip a Werewolf in the middle of the recent can-we-stop-spoiler-season moaning going on? That Werewolf will be buried, and be called boring. I'd rather they hold back the exciting part of the set when people want to be excited.
Yea, I do. There should be no shortage of them in this set.
They said in the stream that there's something new about how werewolves work that they don't want to reveal yet.
Oh I do have a rumor that kamigawa is gonna be old vs new thing
I mean, that would be workable maybe. Honestly at this point I expect them to retcon Tamiyo or have her be the lone oddball when it comes to Spirit stuff so it’s hard to go worse than that.
Being fair, nostalgia is really the only reason to go to Dominaria. It doesn’t really have an identity outside of that, though some subsections of it do. I’m pretty positive that’s part of why they did what they did and that they said as much. What other hook would there be for the place? Post apocalyptic is the only other one I’ve seen suggested but it wasn’t hit that hard and as one can see with Zendikar blowing up a plane tends to have some backlash which makes it a bad idea.
Our glimpse of Kamigawa with Yuriko doesn't indicate it is cyberpunk, and Neon Dynasty doesn't need to mean that. Unless she was from old timeline Kamigawa.
I'd prefer an updated, resonant Kamigawa, but still retain that feudal theme.
But wouldn't it be nice, just once, to buck the trend of fantasy worlds caught in inexplicable technological and sociological stagnation?
Do it with Dominaria then. I’m honestly prepared to dislike Kamigawa because it’s likely to miss the parts of the original I liked. Which is sad but to be expected. Cyberpunk is not what I want at all.
But last time we went to Dominaria the descendants of the Weatherlight crew rebuilt the Weatherlight and fought the Cabal while Tetsuko Umezawa was walking around talking about Toshiro like he saw him last week. 2 apocalypses didn't change the social structures there.
We didn’t see all of Dominaria, and my suggestion is use that kind of thing there instead.

What were your thoughts on Final Fantasy 7 by chance?
'buster
Kind of irrelevant, VII is a one of originally, and the sequels/prequels keep the world consistent to the original (more or less). If you mean for the series as a whole that’s more relevant but even then that really goes to VI first for bucking trends not VII.

It’s not really a secret. Tokens aren’t made the same as cards.

Transforming flip cards, it’s about time.
