Okay, just finished the book and I got some questions.
1) Why exactly did Nath want to kill Rhys again? He used a huge magic thing and accidentally killed elves, I guess. Is that why they call him "kinslayer"?
2) Why did Colfenor agree to having Rhys be attacked? I mean, what was the purpose?
3) Did Colfenor commit suicide? It seemed that way. Ashling would only be there if he had agreed to Brigid bringing her back. Oh, and... did he know that Rhys would survive? I guess he did. Did he just do that just to have Ashling call her elemental and kill him?
4) Did Teeg have Brigid capture Ashling so that Rhys would come to Kinsbaille? He lured Rhys so that Nath could capture him? Gah, this thing is so political it gets confusing. Could I have a summary of the whole deal?
5) I'm also wondering about Maralen, but that seems like the only thing you aren't supposed to understand.
Interesting idea, but I doubt it. From what I read of the Lorwyn book, elves and boggarts are enemies but elves are mostly peaceful with the kithkin. So the black/white battle is mostly irrelevant, I think.
Well, I'll be heading to the Pre-release next Saturday. Lorwyn seems like a fun set, so I'm looking forward to that.
Still, I do have a question. How does one play tribal in sealed deck? I haven't played sealed with onslaught, so I don't know how tribal is normally used in sealed. Lorwyn is even more different because of the the dual color tribes. Just give me some general strategies.
Should I focus on a single tribe with two colors in the deck? How about two tribes in three colors? Something else entirely?
I play MTGO, but I spend extremely little on it (because I play in real life as well). Thus, I tend to buy precons with low prices but are fun and have high replay value. However, there are much too many to choose from. I'm not a competitive player, only casual, so what are your suggestions for a fun precon?
The Magic Lampoon (magiclampoon.com) is pretty funny most of the time, but this particular fake card was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. The picture is attached below.
Any of you have your favorite articles from the Magic Lampoon?
There are some of you who are saying its still too strong. Why? You need a LOT of cards for this to work. And how are you going to even find this card in a 100-card deck? Think about it: Battle of Wits need, what, 250 cards? You play Battle of Wits, win next turn. That's the same with this card too; play it, draw all your cards, and next turn go off with your combo. But again, you need a crapload of cards to even pull this off. So I don't think it would be that bad.
The Fall from Heaven mod is really good. You should download it.
Get it at www.civfanatics.com.
Go to forums, Civ IV, Creation and Customization, Project and Mod Development, and under that should be the various forums for fan-made mods, most of which are very good (Rhyes of Civilization and Fall From Heaven being two of the best.)
Its a good site. Good user created mods, scenarios, and various other tidbits for all the civ games in one place, and good strategy articles/advice.
Edit: Fall from Heaven would be a good complement to the BTS mod; the BTS mod shows off alot of the neat things that they are implementing in later versions of the Mod, while you get all the versatility of random maps and multiple civs. Its a good place to start so your familiar with it. The Song of the Moon mod I hear is very good aswell and can give you a Sci-Fi fix until BTS comes out.
1) I already downloaded Fall From Heaven. I even bookmarked Civfanatics already, so no worries.
2) And in case you didn't know, that fantasy scenario I mentioned is based off of Fall from Heaven. The guys who made the mod got invited to work with Firaxis to create a scenario based on their own mod.
I am not so hyped for BTS; its dosn't really seem to ADD anything, just gimmicks. Corporations, new civs, etc.. blah, whatever.
I know, the basic "new civs, new leaders, new buildings" thing gets a bit old, but that IS what the point of an expansion is: to add new content. Lots of people would expect new civs and leaders. Besides, corporations DO exist in real life and are an important part of a country's economy, so why not Civ? I don't know about you, but I actually enjoy getting more options in my games. It's something new to try.
But really, the part I'm looking forward to the most is the new scenarios that bare almost no comparison to Civ, except that they are on the Civ engine. Final Frontier, the new space scenario of Civ is gonna be so awesome! And there's a whole bunch of other ones like fantasy one (based off of a fan mod) and the survival soldier zombie-attack one (I'm not sure exactly what its about).
Any fans of this game here? I am a relatively new fan, but I'm already all hyped up for Beyond the Sword, which is the next expansion. What do you like about Civ IV?
For some reason, I have to use tags to make spaces between paragraphs. And, my quote marks keep turning into code. Please, replace all """s below with quotation marks.

On that hill, there was a massive glass structure that towered over the surrounding city. Heat battered down on Captain Turu and his men, but Aeria paid no heed to it. She hopped and skipped toward the glass fortress.
At last, they had reached a sort of gate, guarded by men wielding strange glass cross bows. "Halt! Who goes there!?" they hollered.
"My name's Aeria!" cried the little girl.
The soldiers gasped. "She has returned after so long!" one shouted. "The Child of Destiny! But wait! Who are those men!?" He pointed to Captain Turu and his soldiers. "Kidnappers!" He raised a crossbow and aimed it at the other soldiers.
Startled, Turu raised a white flag and stepped forward. "We stumbled upon this child where I come from, the Shadow Realm. She had lost all memory, but she remembered this place. We come to return her and ask for your aid to defeat an evil called Zorruk!"
"The legend is coming true," a guard murmured. As if quoting a book, he chanted, "On the day the Child of Destiny is returned, three shadowfolk seek aid to combat a mighty evil!" He was silent for a minute and then he called out, "Come. You must meet Lord Calan! He lives within this Glass Fortress, known as Zori."

"Do not despair," murmured a kindly voice. Tork turned and realized it was Seripha, Widam's angel mother. "There is still hope for us to win," she added.
"How?" asked Tork. "How can we find more troops now?"
"Do you not remember how you gained reinforcements from your world's elves?" reminded Seripha. "In times of despair, companionship and aid are your greatest allies."
"That's true, but I can't leave now, right?"
"That is true," agreed Seripha. "You have your kinsman to care for, do you not? Hmm, none of us can truly leave this place, for new battles will come soon and we cannot spare any men... Perhaps we will send one who is not with us currently."
"Who?" Tork wrinkled his face in confusion.
"Aeria," Seripha said simply.
"What? That little girl? What could she do?" wondered Tork.
"She's recovered another memory, Tork. She came from a distant kingdom of mages in your world. I don't know how she was abandoned in the shadow world, Tork. But I believe she can gain aid from her homeland."
"Really? How will we communicate with her if she's back at the castle?"
"There are soldiers still there, and there is a device with which we can speak with them," Widam added, materializing in thin air. "Here it is!" She held out a little gray block, that suddenly enlarged into a screen.
"Turu, come in," she called. The face of a young captain appeared.
"Widam, ma'am! There has been no attacks here so far!"
"Excellent. May we speak to Aeria?" The image vanished and the girl appeared on the screen.
"Widsy! What's going on!?" asked Aeria.
"We need your help. Do you remember where you came from now?"
"I think... You want me to go home then?" Aeria tilted her head in confusion.
"I think the people where you come from might be able to help us. Turu! Send an escort with her to her homeland!"
"Yes sir!" cried the captain. "C'mon Aeria. Let's go to the portal."
Tork turned to Widam. "How trustworth is Captain Turu?"
"The best of the best."

Under the control of Galeous, the Leviathan had devestated the enemy. Now, the great beast had vanished beneath the sea once more. Corpses littered the beach and ships. The various races continued to weed out remaining soldiers from Zorruk's army, but for the most part, the battle had been won.
The leaders gathered to discuss the next move. Galeous was adamant in sailing to the capital of his land and retaking it, but the more conservative Gilham wanted to wait for the wounded to heal and gain reinforcements from the various pockets of Homarid resistance against Zorruk. This was agreed to, so a temporary camp was set up to heal the the wounded.

2) This (Zelda) idea has been used by at least two people before: MajoraX and someone else. So honestly, this isn't that original in the least.
3) But I do agree with one thing, this would be a hell of a set if we used Hyrule.
