Have you been liking shriekmaw? I have shyed away from him because of the influx in powerful black creatures leaving him with less ideal targets. Rhino, tasigur, and gurmag are pretty popular around the Midwest it seems.
Phantasm reads opponents graveyard, you are pouring cards into your own graveyard not theirs so I feel like he would be more in line with a mill deck rather than dredgevine.
I'd look into devour flesh as a possible removal spell over ultimate price, as well as assemble the legion as a possible 2 of durable finisher. For the mana base I'd like to see a couple more temples and a couple less pain because you are looking for your big must answer threats, not necessarily tempo. Because of how awesome rakdos ketly rune is especially in comparison to other runes I'd definitely take two of those, cutting probably warleaders. Sign in blood is great but I'm not sold that this deck needs card advantage but rather just a higher card quality.
I really like the idea, in fact I've been brewing the deck for a few weeks. The logic behind it is pretty sound and it is a nightmare to side against. It doesn't ramp into the scapeshift kill as quickly as a dedicated scapeshift deck, but exarch and future respects that your opponent will have to pay to the twin combo buy you quite a bit of time. Everything that is good against the twin combo ( bolt, dismember and abrupt decay) are terrible against the other half of the deck. I really like the idea and say keep testing. Cryptic I have found is not playable because of mana issues. I'll post my list later when I'm at a pc.
The post above me was deleted, that'll teach me to quote.
