Dryad Arbor however is not the sticking point. I've never been stumped by a Dryad Arbor. I've never lost a game due to Dryad Arbor sticking, and Dryad Arbor, is not the play that breaks GSZ.
Thats what I'm saying. Turn 1 GSZ for Dryad Arbor, or Turn 1 Dork. Those play's are roughly the same.
GSZ however goes back in the deck, and killing the Arbor is, well Bolt the Bird.
You draw GSZ again, hmm ok I'll GSZ for 0+1 this time vs whatever is in your hand or your draw.
GSZ goes back in the deck.
You draw GSZ 5 turns later, hmm ok I'll GSZ for 0+5 this time.
GSZ goes back in the deck.
Its not the Arbor. Its consistency, its repetition, it's smoothing draws, and its tutoring.
Essentially its all the things Blue should have, that we (Ponder) dont (Preordain) get, but recurring....
I just finished my ktk foil playset....! And now I have to get these?? They're definitely going to be pricy for something beautiful, highly played, and hard to get!
Yeah I want it bad, I really dont like the current Khan's art for Flooded Strand. This looks amazing.
I dont understand how a Creature/Land, weak to both kinds of hate/removal, is THE issue, and the fact the card is never a dead draw, at any stage of the game, is not an issue?
I mean yes, it ramps you on Turn 1, but so does any Mana Dork. The issue is, not that it can Summon a Dork, the issue is it can Summon a Dork, then a Goyf, then a 'whatever', then a 'whatever + 1 mana' and so on and so on.
Its a great card from turn 0 to turn 20, greatly improves consistency (Ponder/Preordain are banned why...) and tool kits decks.
Its essentially everything that Wizards has tried to hide away from Blue, in Green.
The Jeskai Control decks (the ones using 1 Gearhulk + 1 Secure) are not often running Geists/Quellers, those are indeed different decks. Quellers are sometimes in the side, but the hard control deck we saw out of the SCG event a few weeks back isnt running them.
I believe (have not played it out myself) that Dredge would walk all over the pure Control version people are playing right now. There is nothing main or side, that prevents the recursion.
Tron/ETron however, you have quite a few side and main board cards to help lock them down.
I think there is a difference between them making Development (costing) mistakes, and Game Design mistakes. I can get behind Dev mistakes, but the design of the card is not an issue to me.
Yeah, who is ever going to find good green creatures, not like Wizards prints those. lol
GSZ's weakness is...what?
It just seems to do too much, things which Wizards has specifically removed from the format.
Its too powerful at smoothing out a deck, at tutoring, and at recursion.
It does things which Wizards has flat out stated it does not like, by lowering variance, considerably.

I mean he's good, granted, but what exactly makes him a design mistake?
