We've only got 10 hits in the typical build. That's a lot less than decks that use, for example, Ancient Stirrings. Feel free to try it, but I'm expecting it's too unreliable to be worth it without some significant build changes.
Oh I don't know... possibly because it's barely a real word that is literally never used in discourse or written work. Furthermore, it can technically be spelled either way. I can't believe you would post in the OFFICIAL bogles thread, and, might I add, use way to many comas, and, not even know, that.
Bogle and Boggle are actually two different words with two different pronunciations and completely different meanings.
I'm liking that new HoD card 'Solemnity' for sideboard in Bogles... messes up infect and abzan company decks
Infect creatures can't deal damage if it's out... You don't lose life and you don't gain counters... Another way to hose affinity (inkmoths and modular creatures), devoted Druid CANNOT get counters so can't activate... Whoop woop!
Bogles always had a hard time with those. Everything else it's pretty good with.
Apart from living end but we just side in RiP
Oh also, solemnity knocks out pyromancer ascension in storm too... Another bad match up for Bogles!
Thoughts?
While Solemnity negates the Devoted Druid combo, it actually helps the Viscera Seer/Kitchen Finks combo, as it acts as a Melira in that situation. Also, Storm hasn't used Pyromancer Ascension since Baral came out, so no real effect there. Everything else, looks pretty good. Other popular cards it stops are Walking Ballista, Raging Ravine, Engineered Explosives, and Aether Vial.

Any of you folks who run Canopy-less builds interested in the new fetchable dual lands; specifically, Scattered Groves? I can't imagine wanting to run more than 1 or 2, but on paper it seems like it could be worth it in those games where we can finish off our opponent by top-decking an aura, but are flooded on mana.
Always entering tapped is a pretty steep price. Only makes sense if you're fetching at end of turn, but I'd just run another shockland instead. These are only likely to see play in decks with Valakut or Life from the Loam. I think I'd even run checklands before these.
I'm really not big on Drana. She's a three-drop that dies to bolt, and doesn't do anything when she enters the board. You don't get counters from her until she connects in combat.
For a black ally, I'd be more inclined to run Kalastria Healer.
I think the common consensus is that blue doesn't really have enough to offer to mess with the mana base. I realize the fetch/shock base can be used easily enough, but tri color is a bit more difficult on lower mana curves, let alone wanting WW, WG, and/or GG on turn two.
I'm sure the abzan/company/chord decks will find a nice home for him.
The perfect pairing in Modern for Renegade Rallier is Voice of Resurgence. He'll likely be a one-of in those decks.
Does anybody have a link to an article/other resource that breaks down the percentage chances of drawing x card when running 1,2,3,or 4 copies? I remember seeing it a while ago, but came up empty looking back through the primer. I'm re-tooling my SB and I'm mostly curious in regards to Leyline. I notice a lot of folks still run 4 out of the side; I had to cut it down to 3 because I would get the most redundant opening hands and/or boned late game.
The card that comes closest to actually creating the effect you want is Suppression Bonds, but that's 4 mana. There are far more effective ways of shutting down a card. (Pithing Needle, Path to Exile, Stony Silence, etc.)
If the card you're trying to shut down is strong enough to be a threat, then yes, your opponent WILL pay that cost to maintain their threat. Why give them an out when there's more effective ways of actually dealing with the problem vs. making it merely inconvenient?
TL;DR: Are these match reports a constructive addition to the thread or a waste of space? I don't care if people skip over them (I enjoy writing them) but I don't want to actively detract from the thread with clutter.
Thanks for the report, and nice result. As far as your question goes, I find these types of posts to be the most valuable. "I played this, here's how my games went, and here's my thoughts" are some of the best bits of data you can get. Please continue doing them!
Hi I'm new to Stompy but the last few moderns i went to at my game store I did pretty well, however I seem to always lose to Jund without a fighting chance. I was planning on side boarding Great Sable Stag but I wanted to know what other good options there are?
which creatures only die to firespout? Off the top of my head, i can only think of kird ape and wild nacatl, probably tarmogoyf, and experiment one? I'm
currently running firespouts main, and lightning bolts in the side like Joe Lossett, and I'm thinking of trying to back to pyroclasm which is relevant in a lot
more matchups while i can just side in the Bolts for zoo. I honestly find the zoo matchup worse than burn at this point.
The version of Zoo I'm running (and may bring to GPLA) has Kird Ape, Wild Nacatl, Loam Lion, and Loxodon Smiter. 14 3+ toughness creatures. Also, Scavenging Ooze (usually 3+ toughness) and Voice of Resurgence. That's 18 creatures that don't care a whole lot about Pyroclasm.

You need a hypergeometric calculator.

In addition to the other options mentioned, Witchstalker and Wilt-Leaf Liege are worth a try.

Engineered Explosives and Chalice of the Void can be rather nasty as well.
MTGO Leagues have hundreds of players. Wizards publishes up to 10 decks that finish 5-0 every day in each league type.
