May 29, 2019arcane7828 posted a message on The End of an EraVery sad, this has been my main go to site for anything new in mtg. I may not have agreed with everything or everyone, but it is what it is. Thanks for the years of information, excitement and wonder Sally. May you ever be found in the way way back machine or some such toodles.Posted in: Articles

but 4cc (possible)flyer that can deal damage is good...
probably the activated flying is to slow down the red deck, without the activation it would have been very good. As it is, it still workable, but making the flying activated kinda spoils it.
Notice they are keeping toughness at 3, else everything goes crazy i guess =)
And I guess that settles the 5 dragons in the orb, as opposed to a cycle of dragons =(
Yosei is a little high now IMHO, if you want to get yosei's, might be better to wait.. just me though
[edit]
given that koko's value is high now, maybe trade for something you want/need but be mindful of the value when you trade =) (watch out for stuff that are only temporally high - you are going to get alot of those when DIS comes out -- hmmm then again you are talking to a guy who let solifuges walk by lol.. )
and like Amemit said, comparing 2 rather different spells =)
Hmm I like mana leak better than remand, the fact that remand cantrips is what saves it =P IMHO
[Edit]
Now after thinking awhile i think it depends on your area too, if people you are playing with are playing with lots of karoos and the duals, boomerang goes up in value =)
you might want to decide on which is the dominant synergy you want (which 2 out of the 3 legends you want to see most often) that would make more room
much like saying is llanowar better or BOP better
I like to think I am dimir, lay low, find information... but I thikn implementatin is more like Orzhov, I like to have things covered and go by the rules. I like to know exactly what consequences are for both me and others when choices are made. All very orzhov...
I like control, I destroy land, I destroy your creatures. I enjoy taking out every single resource my opponent has rather that just going for the kill. I like ensuring my voctory as opposed to beating out my victory.
But......
I am gruulish in nature, I do not back down easy and I enjoy a good rumble. I get heated up easy. A fight or argument is both fun and profit. Almost Rakdos, but not quite as uncaring of the surroundings as the Rakdos =P
I like the Zoos and Heezys (not much of a fan of the orzhov aggro though)
So a little bit of a contradiction...
Maybe i am really an Izzet??? hmmm
In terms of psycho profile I ended up as a Spike/Johnny
a savage twister perhaps
heh i think if the spikes were around this deck would go crazy =)
given your deck i think the searing meditations would be good, probably 2-3, not four as they are really turn 4 material.
and the 4 power takes out alot of the 2cc/3cc blockers
no doubt a 1/1 chump blocker can stop it, but even in that scenario you get 3 damage through
instead of seeing it as losing a creature, see it as forcing a trade.
With the slum you can chump block and buy yourself a few more turns, which actually give you time to stabilise the board in most cases. The solifuge keeps the tempo up.
alone he is'nt so great of course, but add to that pressure some random 1/1 (or worse a kird ape) that has a moldervine cloak on and it gets really ugly.
The aggro decks are all about pressure, and the solifuge is better than the slum at keeping up pressure.
But say the environment slows down? The slum may see more play then.
actually thinking about it, the untargetibility is important. But there are so many factors, it being a hybrid rather than gold is one reason it is so smooth in gruul beats/heezy
For comparison:
Ball Lightning
Yavimaya Ants
Deadly insect
These all have some combination of untargetibility, trample and haste
Hybrid makes the solifuge playable in either green or red builds. color screw is a non issue (which is big in a deck that wants to come out fast and smash face consistently)
