it certainly looks like where this poll is going lol

Actually the plate may be weaker than Warhammer, but I hate how Warhammer plays out in limited. It makes the game unfun.

Hmm I have'nt played limited much so I can't comment on that, but someone mentioned that the warhammer gives lifegain and trample to colours that should'nt have it... I dunno... thats part of the appeal =) Gives more decks a chance in constructed.

Anyways... either is fine with me... I do hope to avoid them in my rare slot though =P

not sure if it matters, but just in case empyrial plate's potential is being benched marked using empyrial armor, empyrial armor's strength in constructed was largely based on cataclysm (or some armageddon effect), so I would'nt put too much stock in its constructed potential. ... unless some good mass LD is reprinted Wink ... then we will all kick ourselves for not pushing the djinn =P

I think having the same author for a block, holds the story together, in terms of pace and style.... but between blocks? I think the author will get exhausted. Having said that though the same problem can happen for intra block books, maybe thats why they have 3 authors.. it is a rather tight schedule.

since this is asking for an opinion.

I think Americans as a people, do things or care for things that most other people won't give a rat's ass for (they don't dare, they can't, they can't be bothered, pick one). For that alone, I put them in the cool people category. now the implementation of those ideals are always debatable of course.

though homie dawgs came close =P

Voted Hammer... please let the hammer win....

On the conspiracy theory.. I think both hand size and life gain has a thing going for them...

Don't care either way really, but in my deck building so far the hammer has helped too much.

+3 power, Lifegain to make the race harder, Trample to make the power count. I like it.

    I voted for warhammer....

definitely more straight forward pound em in....

Trample plus lifegain, the 6 cc (if you cast and equip) is a pain, but it can pull some otherwise hopeless decks back in the fray =P (not that its a auto include in any deck but it does fill a spot)

The sketches.... frankly... both were bad.

I like A cos of nostalgia, but .... why the **** did he draw that leg... it looks like some mad demon caper or something... Sketch B is just wrong... that thing is too fat to fly... plus it looks too cute. Oh yah I have a strange definition of cute...

About the lands, I am surprised so many of John Avon got in... nothing to complain i like his work too... but i am glad Ron Spencer got the swamps =)

    Baal:

I think the point is that you want to reduce the chances of a bad draw as much as possible. Even that slight percent adds. And yes most times it does not matter. But do you want the 0.00001 chance to draw a blank to happen in a crucial match?

I am personally of the view that 61 cards are alright =P since it is a play of percentage of good/business cards in the deck, so if you got the business cards to stuff into the 61 cards, then by all means, but if there isn't a real strategy in mind, and its just to stuff a cool card in, then the 61st card is questionable. Just as we should not blindly build 60 card decks, we should not blindly do 61 cards as well =)

I voted for balls (sorry could'nt help the pun)... mostly cos its 10th ed... ball lightning is one of those staples, like the ernham djinn

But what I like? I think the slogger... (I like the ball lightning.. but he is just too hit and run.... one shot kinda guy)

If you can get to 6, Darien is a bomb... and in flavour too..

but at 3/3 vanilla (no protection??) he is a little too easily killed... iffy at best.. I was hoping top build something around him

mouth is good, uncounterable, again mid to late game stuff

Bauble? this one is a proven good stuff =)

I chose geddon... mostly cos I like geddon and miss it =)

hmmm geddon, presents a whole new strategy...

I do not think we will see geddon, as it would just kill all the effort to make the game slower and make it profitable to play big cc spells

If indeed geddon makes it to 10th, look for very very different cards in the corresponding sets for that period (as compared to now)

the viper is nice. I would say $10 dollars at first later on dropping a 5$ s piece.

I feel it would go abt 8+ then drop to about 2-3 ++

It is a good card. But chase rare good? Mabbe initially. If you want this wait for the dust to settle.

Answering the part on Carven Caryatid...

I think it depends, if the deck is defensive, the caryatid's butt is bigger =) and has 2 power to kill as opposed to 1 power. But if the card draw is important then its the viper.

Here's a hint, it's 2/1, gets you a card from the graveyard, costs 1gg, and is a shaman and is a witness that is eternal.

    Give up?

it would be really nice if they reprint the eternal witness =)

I'm alright if either wins the vote... but i went for troll =)

I have a playset already, but troll would let the new players gain some power! =P

    Voted Troll, went for power...

Ernham would be good only with geddon (though Wildfire would be good too)...

Baloth was really cool, i like lifegain... but Troll's untargetibility swayed me
