May 29, 2019arcane7828 posted a message on The End of an EraVery sad, this has been my main go to site for anything new in mtg. I may not have agreed with everything or everyone, but it is what it is. Thanks for the years of information, excitement and wonder Sally. May you ever be found in the way way back machine or some such toodles.Posted in: Articles

ehhh Zoo is still manageable... my fault here I was referring to suicide black with rituals and carnophages and hatred.... against high pressure, sunscour's pitch ability is'nt too shabby. But that is from another time, in the current environment (T2) its not that fast so the sunscour might not be that significant.
But say i meet some serious bloke, then its duel mode and we play serious. Nothing nasty, just real competition (ermm with what ever decks we had made of course =P).
Say I meet an anal guy. Well... I have met my share and I can be anal as well
But having said that, some things like upkeep, I try to be strict about it on myself, as it is part of the rules afterall. At the tourny level, you really want to play your best. Your opponent is unlikely to let you take back a move, especially if it affects board position substantially, and really should not if you think about it.. why bother with the rules then no .
In a prerelease setting though, if my opponent misses one, is a nice guy, I can let it pass, no biggy - though if I miss one later and he tries one on me, that really riles me, but I'll just suck it and hold him to his own moves from then on - usually they can't. Mostly I let my opponent set the tone and just have fun.
That said Kamigawa felt like it brought in alot of fun stuff, but the support cards were not quite there. But what I liked about Kamigawa was that the power of the cards were largely subtle (ignoring the bombs).
wow.. you really thought through this =D
I like the part where poison is used to destroy or sharpen the mind.... its like a poisoning effect!
ehh... that is correct... but there are times when I play control and I get screwed by a speed deck (e.g. suicide black)... sun scour allows to at least survive (and if you think about it you kinda break even in terms of card advantage). Granted there are no speed decks today =) but just something to point out
If only they allowed the Valkyrie to target herself =(
hehe I think... it will be 3-4 .. 2 seems a little low =)
Actually.. one of the worst things that can happen is if people pay ridiculously high prices and it sets an unnatural floor on the minimum price (although it will eventually fall to a price that resonates with its actual value.)
Seriously, the set looks pretty good and fun, not power laden true, but snow looks to have some potential =)
Actually... those are pretty interesting ideas.... =)
putting a negative effect to remove counters
The viper is a very good card, but not overly powerful and hence will not be sky high in price. (Though now it is probably going to be pricy)
. But the viper is better than the cutpurse. What the cutpurse lacked desperately was evasion of some kind. Give it that and you have a much better card (like the shadowmage infiltrater.. )
Like milling. Or the bunch of cards that set new conditions for winning (can't remember them at the moment...). The game play/state changes when the win condition changes. That is interesting to me.
That would be some ways to push poison =)
Thing is poison is a very fast clock, hence delivery is always made difficult. That is the reason for its suckhood status. That is also why some of us like to try to make it work. For the victory is all the sweeter.
I hope it comes back... but I was so hoping it would come back in golgari.... but ah well...
And whether poison sucks.. anything can suck =) wizards just has to shaft it enough =P
