I really wanted to run this as well, but there isnt room for it in jund for the same reasons mentioned above. Lets face it. Its no Jitte. It will see some play in other aggro decks for sure.
That strikes me as a new "stock" mana base for Jund. I kind of just did that on the fly, but I think it's fairly reasonable. Obviously, it could change depending on your particular tech in your Jund but I think I want to lean on green more after WWK due to Great Sable Stag getting better, imo. I also wish to test Explore in Jund with 26 land. I'll probably be working with my list soon and seeing how it goes.
I run 2 Raging Ravine. You wont need anymore just take 2 rootbound crags out is what i did and its working great. I'm at work but i believe this is my manabase.
This Akoum Battlesinger" target="blank">Akoum Battlesinger is awsome. The ranger is to good to leave out of the mix. I've done a little testing with it against vampires. It can hold its own. I like the Highland Berserker. Having all your creatures with firststrike can get anoyin
Dunno if Explore is better than Rampanth Growth, but I thinks it needs to be tested out. Leech has been pretty underwhelming sometimes so I want to try something else. But I feel Leech vs. Rampanth(or Explore now) debate is pretty much just matter of taste.
custo: Now this is intresting. Eye survives Earthquake all day long can be a real pain in the ass I would like to win a game with it!
I really like Explore. I have done 30 or so games with 3 in the MD. It has been nice to have draw and some land excel all in one card. I personally havn't missed leech as of late. Leech is amazing none the less, but i find him dealing nearly just as much damage to us then we do to our oppenents. I think you will be pleased with the testing results.
I just really don't like that it doesn't have haste. Yes, a 6/6 flying trampler for four mana is amazing, but the lack of haste is worrisome because unless you have a way to make sure they don't screw that play, you just wasted your fourth turn drop, which is a critical turn in Jund tempo. I will restate again, the Persecutor would be amazing in a red-black deck, which really has yet to be designed. You end up making so many concessions in a Jund deck to make it work effectively that it ends up no longer being an effective Jund deck. At any rate, this has already been done to death where people point out that he is a tempo eater and doesn't fit Jund, so I am done repeating it. I will point out, one more time, that you will be committing suicide in a mirror match, because I think Jund should run either Act of Treason or Slave of Bolas against this guy. Really funny when someone drops him turn four or five, and you slave the bugger, slap them with him, and then sac him.
I have droped Putrid leech for Explore and added 2 Abyssal Persecutor. I have had good results in testing. Mostly against Vampires and there new additions have boosted the deck pertty well. I am still coming up on top against Vamps. The Persectuor is a huge threat regardless of his draw back. If they don't kill it then they pertty much die. It's not hard to save a terminate or a pulse for him when you have a 6/6 flying trampler out beating face.
I was playing one game where he had just played a Nocturnas with 3 other creatures out. I Bit blasted the Nocturnas at end of turn cascaded into Persecutor with pulse in hand. Next turn drew and overrun with Garruk for 24ish, put him to 0 then pulsed him and won. His jaw droped.
I will also be testing 2 Abyssal Persecutor in my main. Hes huge. If you can't kill it when you need to he just becomes a giant wall. I do like explore tho. Its not that bad of cascade target like rampant growth is.
Long answer, No, because its ridiculous to think that an incomplete set is worth theorizing on. If something as suttle as Engineered Plague all of a sudden appeared as our last card, everything could be thrown out the window.
It's like building a race car without the frame, don't do it.
Couldn't have said it any better dude. Its not that hard to wait till it has been fully released.
I am a jund player. I still think Mind Sludge is the supieror card choice here. I don't see Mind Shatter worth replacing it. It still basicly does the same thing. Other then making them name the wrong card, i don't see it worth it to be honest. There will be times when Jund has 5 cards in hand. If you go first there is a higher chance of Jund having 3+ cards in hand. If they get a bad draw for CIPT lands another high chance there.
Bassman i like your list. I'm running a bit more removal sense my meta is mostly aggro at this time. If i do cut down some removal i like your 3 of's for the removal slots. This is what im taking to the FNM tomarrow. The 1 Eldrazi Monument has really impressed me greatly. Most will not expect it. Its just a house if you got a few thrinax's on the board or even just one. Gives ya 4 turns to use it with the other creatures in play.
If i know they are running BSA in their main. Ill work around it and just sit there with a terminate or pulse in my hand just waiting for it. It never survives when i play against it either.
