So I am aware that with the Journey into Nyx update that they barred the use of all electronic devices. It appears they have since changed it to only bar devices that transmit and receives data. Obviously this applies to things such as smart phones but does that mean if I have an old ipod nan I would be barred from using said device while playing?
Starcity Invis are strange animals. Given the nature of the event grinders are over represented. As such in type 2 when Delver was a thing it was a way bigger part of the meta than it should have been. I'd expect lots of Deathblade in the hands of the usual SCG guys and then Sneak and Show and Delver variants next but maybe not in that order.
Long time lurker first time poster. After seeing the original pimp thread at the Vintage forums on SCG back in like 2005ish, I fell in love with pimp stuff. Now that I finally have the income to support such pimp here I am. I tend not to like foreign cards unless they are German, or FBB duals. This is my start.
New arrivals for RUG Delver. Volcanic is Italian and one Stifle is German.
Legacy Storm combo. A black border Trop is incoming and the Volc can be swapped with the one above. The fetches aren't pimp yet. Getting a set of foil tarns and Deltas for Rug next and then that'll be fixed. I apologize for my unpimped lands.
I've got two more packages coming and I'll post when I get them. Feels good to finally contribute.
You will get mixed responses here too, but if you want my own personal opinion your play was absolutely scummy, an incredibly poor show of sportsmanship, and is arguably more than borderline cheating because you intentionally attempted to manipulate the game state by "revealing" your Aetherize. IMO there isn't really much else to say, you cant even paint it in a light that makes you sound not awful.
It's just FNM dude.
How is it even close to cheating? You may reveal cards from your hand at anytime.
You have to remember that there is a massive storm going on in the North East Region at the moment as well, which will impact those who can make it to and from events this weekend.
I meant the weekend of Charlotte. Somehow North America is so spoiled we get two gps the weekend right after the PT.
We do play black, we can deal with hexproof with Tribute to hunger/Liliana of the Veil , which are much more effective once the hexproof guy in question gains [CARD=Spectral Flight]pants. Also there is a new edict. All in all, while I would play some number of Bonfire of the damned, it isn't because it is our only answer to hexproof creatures. It is an answer to them at times but we have more effective ones available.
Edit: It is somewhat effective vs Walkers, but if they are truly an issue we have other answers as well.
The head judge of the event has a right to decide what's more important, someone feeling comfortable or someone playing with a specific playmat. It makes no difference why someone is not feeling comfortable around the playment. You have no right to judge his opinion "worthy" or not.
What you are missing is that it doesn't matter why someone finds it offensive, if they do, put it away.
If find your face offensive, can you put it away? Oh, I find the card you just cast agaisnt me, a non altered card like Hellrider offensive, can you put it away? Sorry, but that Thragtusk offends me, can you put it away? I am sorry, but your mono colored opaque sleeves offend me, can you desleeve your thousand dollar deck?
I probably concede to him as well. It's a low competition environment where learning is important (especially for new players). That and I consider it good sportsmanship to acknowledge that within the rules of the game you lost. That's what FNM is for - helping new people become accustomed to the game, meet new players and friends, and to learn tournament procedures.
At a higher level event (like a Grand Prix or Star City Open) I probably don't point it out. Mainly because those tournaments expect you to have a certain amount of knowledge and fair grasp of the rules to be playing in them.
Than again I still might - because I want to know I either won or lost because of the proper plays and a good game, not because of a blatant mistake. Little questionable mistakes or nuanced mistakes are a different matter in my opinion. Games are won and lost off of who made the least mistakes or misplays (especially in sports or competitive things like chess). Errors like the one described by the OP shouldn't fit into that category though.
With in the rules of the game, he didn't loose though. Opponents can concede at anytime, and he clearly made sure he wantd to. The rules don't say that I must help my opponent play optimally. If he doesn't understand, I'll tell him after. People learn better after getting burned on a mistake. He wasn't rude about it or anything as far as i can tell. Errors like that really do fit that category. Mistakes are mistakes. Whether my poor play is made by a flawed decision tree on my part, bad rules knowledge on my part, or misreading reading the board state on my part and not because my opponents misleading in anyway, the common words there are on MY part. Letting people makes mistakes makes them better.
that makes no sense, the card that made conscription a deck was Eldrazi Conscription and Sovereigns of Lost Alara. Knight of white orchard was in alara block with SoLA and Conscription was from Zendikar block.... with everything from caw go...
Sovereigns rotated, killing Mythic Conscription, then Caw go was a thing after Kibler went 6-0 at worlds.

Caw go wasn't until Worlds right after the card that made Conscription a deck rotated.
Conscription was around with Jund, and UW Tapout, with stuff like Wall of Omens, Knight of the White Orchid, Mind Spring, etc.
