I don't think it's a good idea to make it an acorn card for cycle or powerlevel reasons. The whole idea of black-bordered un-cards was that people were playing with the playable un-cards in highly casual settings anyway, so this is going to be the same problem with Fluros again. There will be some playgroups that specifically allow Fluros while others will stick to the acorn ruling. Two steps forward, one step back.
Honestly this could've been fixed so easily if instead of looking at power/toughness and loyalty, Fluros would have looked at the whole card, including mana cost, text box, card number and artwork. Then there would have been a justification for it being an acorn card.

Apparently they promised not to make any eternal partner cards. -

Creature — Cat beast
Avoidance – Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, exile up to one target nonland permanent you control, then return it to the battlefield under its owner’s control.
2/2
first of the kittens are more powerful than the adults
Secondly……this card is just the most beyond bonkers card ever seen for those flicker decks
We can immediately start with turning any flicker like spell into a ghostly flicker
And Archaeomancer can just be thr target most of the time just to keep getting the card back.
so let’s see how long it takes to figure out how to infinite this with Palinchron
Oh and did I forget to mention you can flicker noncreature targets with this

Presumably, when both creature types are races (as opposed to race and class), they'll always be listed alphabetically.
Even the couple rakshasa that were printed were cat demons, not demon cats
Doesn't explain sphinx demon or vampire demon.
Indeed, alphabetical order isn't usually the primary determining factor.
Here are the creature types that have appeared before demon:
Zombie, Crocodile, Ogre, Elder, Nightmare, Cat, Scorpion, Fungus, Phyrexian
And after (excluding class types):
Dog, Kraken, Spirit, Illusion, Dragon
Hard to make a pattern out of that besides that they were probably just put in whatever order felt right for the cards in question.
Edit: and if "broken with Flash" was a reason not to print something, they'd run out of new ideas real quick. -

from your reaction to the DJ in kamigawa
You clearly didn't see the actual cars and actual trains on both plains
I saw it all....

from how people are talking neon dynasty
im Sorry but your minority of caring about stuff like motorcycles/cars/trains/fedoras/DJ in magic people are adapting already sorry.
I seriously doubt I'm the minority, just less vocal about it. But if the cards play well then that's great. I just have no interest in buying any, but it's all good. People who like it will buy it and people who don't won't so everybody's happy I'm just sad to see things go this way -

Because the Ikoria triomes set the precedent for these lands, and the Tarkir clans didn't? I didn't think that needed to be explained.
I'm not saying that they NEED to follow the same naming convention. I just think it was a missed opportunity, and that "triome" is an elegant name to retain for the allied cycle. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
