  • posted a message on Linessa - Is there a tempo bounce (deck) skeleton in modern?
Is there a tempo home for Linessa in modern? From what I can see from her she is quite the tempo advantage.

    I was thinking things like:

    4 Bird of Paradice
    4 Fauna Shaman
    4 Etternal Witnes
    4 Linessa, Zephyr Mage
    4 Primal Command
    2 Restoration Angel

    However:
    Afinaty Beats your face in.
Linessa does not pass the bolt test.

I would really like to se some Linessa action.

If you follow your train of thought you will notice the problem om having your second card component (the card you fetch) to be relevant with it's two colours. This hurt your deck.

Also not being able to tutor for basic land in turn 1 and 2 is dangerus in a format where blood moon is such a strong card.

Anafenza is good in melira pod alright. In the mirror it is a one sided samurai of the pale curtain. I would not add more then one of him/her(?) in the deck to pod up in the mirror, and it is a sweet 2nd turn drop id you go mana dork turn 1, but have no pod for turn two. Slam him/her down and attack nect turn with a 4/4 in turn 3 while giving your bird of paradice the counter. That is quite beefy.

Narset Enlightened Master is a very good lategame card for creatureless control. Asuming you can tap out against your oponent. It is so value to attack and flip some bolts and helixes.

Delve is a very strong mecanic, so it might be we see some good cards for the late game decks.

I supose Sorin was OK as he can defend himself, but there is no home for him in modern. Life link is not so good vs combo. Sharkam the dragonspeaker will not be so good as people are already not playing stormbreath dragon.

Fetches are good. With modern being much more established perhaps people will pick some up and make the format cheaper on the local wallets.

Seems like a good idea. How does it perform? It seems the deck is based around getting to 3 mana and that is not so hard. ;-)

How is stormbreath dragon? It seems out of place. What about Xenagos the planewalker? Pupping down dudes (with you are) seems good with poping out xenagos when you have 3 dudes on the table, following up by ading mana and making one more 3 cost card like a dude or a sword. (next turn make token and equip sword.)

Also, would it not be better with sword of ice and fire? Or one or two swords of ice and fire. I am also not sold on beast within. What is it there for besides stoping combo creature decks (pod/splinter twin) What about flame slash? Although this last card does not smash the birthing pod. Perhaps Kitchen finks, they seem always good.

  • posted a message on Jund Pod: What creatures would be good?
    Hello, long time no see.

I really would like to try a Jund Pod deck: This is mainly the fact that you can tutor up magus off the moon wich is a very powerfull card. I would think Jund pod would be better sompared to angel pod.

    We would get acses to:
    Magus of the moon
    Sprouting Thrinax
    Huntmaster of the Fells
    Falkenrath Aristocrat
    Olivia Voldaren
    Kiki-Jiki Mirrorbreaker

However I would loose access to:

    Archangel of Thune
    Voice of Resurgence
    Orzov Pointif
    Linvala, Keeper of Secrets
    Sin Colector
    Ranger of Eos
    Gavony Township
    Restoration Angel

Would it be good? Magus of the Moon is so good! Pod is very strong even when it does not combo of because it's creatures are so good and they keep grinding away. While it is bad to loose Linvala and Gavony Township I do think Voice of Resurgence is the real loss. There could be some problems with mana but some basic lands in the deck, BOP and some Manamorphose could also be a snug fitt, and thins it down. Making you basicly play a 56 card deck meaning you have better chance of finding the good stuff. Perhaps also faithles looting could have a room? What do you think. Are there some obvius cards I am not seeing?

Sorry for the spelling, I am dyslectic.

Hello, i hope this finds you well.

I am wondering if anybody know what Eurolands that have been reprinted? I know the Germand and English forrest was in the knights vs dragons theme deck. But what about the french one?

The thing is I found myself ovning the prints form knights vs dragons and I think I remember seing the french land at one time. But now I can not find it. I remember I tossed out some basic lands when they got some water on them some times. Can anybody please confirm one way or the other if this land below has been reprinted? (With that spesific art.)

Play limmited, pauper or commander. Or don't play.

Why do you innsist on running the lobber crew? Even with all the multicoloured spells it is horrible in my opinion. At least add vent sentinel if you want to have walls for pinging his plain walkers. But most of all I would use chandra's phoenix for your 3 mana.

What will creeping tar pit do for you? Come into play tapped, not fix your mana, and not become a creature unless you draw 2? No no no. Add in the braid of fire (as it is good with your crypt ghast) and then use lavaclaw reaches. Much better for you. Also play with volcanic geyser comet storm Jiwari, the Earth Aflame and magmaquake.

Would not the detahtouch sliver and doublestrike help in fights with more creatures? Rock, Jund and affinaty? (Although disenchant sliver would be really neat vs afinaty.)

If we are clear that it is not a tier one deck, we can try to help.

    Add 4 cavern of souls

Remove the least important allies and add in Path to Exile. Æther Vial might be good. It should be, but it newer show up in deck lists. Some disruption like Gadon Teeg and others would be good.

This deck is not modern competetive. I doub't your friends is to if that is the metagame you are playing in. That is fine, if I have understood you correct.

It seems you want to use braid if fire and x spells. The mana from braid disapears between upkeep and does not carry over to your main phase. As this seem to be a key ingredience you can have som problems with it. Lobber Crew is not good with many multi coloured cards, and you do not have any almost. Willow of the wisp is not very good, although I had a period where I had it in every deck. It is understandable, but it is more of a fine blocker, and you do not need blocking?

Your good cards are nighthawk, mortars, dreadbore, slaughter game (dependable), p. arena. You need more between that and the big spells you have planed.

I would like to see some sliver control deck. I would brew it myself but my knowledge of building control decks is lacking. BusMcRider does have a very good point that Sliver Hive makes a very good late game win condition. Mindlash Sliver locks down card drawing. Dormant Sliver becomes a Whispers of the Muse. Psionic Sliver is a super Searing Touch. Telekinetic Sliver is awsome controll. Smile

Do you need a winn condition?

Ensnaring Bridge + shutdown of vital cards will make shure he can not kill you. Mull him to death. Memoryside and Cranial Exstraction will make shure he gets milled before you do. You can also peek for the name game.

How about a sliver version of the ninja delver deck?

Comes out of the gates pretty fast. Keeps drawing cards. It is a bit light with only Sinew sliver to lift it out of the army of 1/1. Only 8 hard counter spells, although I think it should "thread water" very good. Smile Some play testing is requiered.

I got fits when i saw the decklist. I used to runn a similar deck in the old extended format before i started plahing again. It had the counterspell and [card]curiosity[/card ]. Also I love the ninja! Has anyone tried a build with [card]curiosity[/card ]? This would probably be without the bear and another evasion creature.
