MTG Salvation is a community for discussing Magic: The Gathering. Towards this end, we try every day to help build a community with a culture of inclusiveness and non-discrimination. It is important to all of us here at MTGSalvation that all can feel welcome to share their thoughts and love of the game here. However, we are only the beginning. Everyone is involved in making a community come together — from the posts each of us make, to helping monitor and report posts that breach our ideals to help foster the kind of community we all want to have.
We will say this simply and up front: Racism, Sexism, Misogyny, and any other forms of prejudice or predatory behavior is not welcome here. We extend our hand to the community: help us spread these values in the positive messages we post, and report any posts that violate these policies and ideals. If you have any doubts about whether a post violates our rules, or there is something that makes you uncomfortable on the site — please talk to us in the Staff Inbox, or message a moderator or admin directly to let us know of your concerns.
In general, we try to keep MTG Salvation free of in-depth political discussion. These discussions often have little bearing on Magic: The Gathering topics, and this is not the place to debate contentious issues or convince others of your viewpoint. However, sometimes the reality is that the two can get caught up together. When this occurs, the moderator team tries to keep the topic focused on the impact to the game first and foremost as much as possible — while closing threads that get too heated or go too far afield. While we know that these are passionate topics, we ask you to please help us in keeping the discussion level headed and on the topics of how these topics influence the game.
It has been two weeks since Wizards of the Coast has removed racist depictions from their site by removing the art of several problematic cards. It has been brought to our attention that our own databases still maintained the old art. As racism has no place on this site, we are following Wizards' example, and are likewise removing the art of the following problematic cards:
MTG Salvation is a gaming forum, and we want to foster a community that welcomes a wide variety of views. Posts and comments that hinder this goal are not welcome here.

Tovolar, Arcane Alpha 2GUR
Legendary Creature - Werewolf Shaman (Mythic)
Eminence - Whenever another Werewolf you control transforms, if Tovolar, Arcane Alpha is in the command zone or on the battlefield, you may pay 2. If you do, create a token that's a copy of that permanent and a 2/2 green Wolf creature token. They gain haste.
Trample, hexproof
GUR: Search your library for a Wolf or Werewolf creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
5/5
My namesake:
Subject of the Moon 1G
Creature - Werewolf Horror (Uncommon)
Whenever Subject of the Moon is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner may shuffle it into their library.
At the beginning of each upkeep, if no spells were cast last turn and you both own and control Subject of the Moon and a creature named Tovolar, Arcane Alpha, exile them, then meld them into The Mondronen Voidpack.
2/1
//
Void's namesake:
The Mondronen Voidpack
Legendary Creature - Eldrazi Werewolf (Mythic)
Trample, hexproof, haste
Whenever The Mondronen Voidpack attacks, for each other attacking Wolf, Werewolf or Eldrazi, create a token that’s a copy of that card and that’s tapped and attacking.
At the beginning of each upkeep, if a player cast two or more spells last turn, create a 4/4 colorless Eldrazi Werewolf creature token with menace.
8/8
Proliferate/Salvation:
Steward of Salvation 3WW
Creature - Elephant Cleric (Rare)
Vigilance
Whenever you gain life, proliferate. (Choose any number of permanents and/or players, then give each another counter of each kind already there.)
1W: Target creature gains lifelink until end of turn.

Subject16 posted a message on CCL The Last Final (June '19)Now that submissions are done I have to say it's been a really fun CCL this month. I quite enjoyed the unexpected limitation of sticking to a color identity, and there was a lot of nostalgia and mechanics you made us work with. I haven't decided on whether to stay here or migrate to Nexus yet, but I hope we get to continue this!Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games -

Creature - Ogre (R)
Trample, menace, infect
When Menial Subjects enters the battlefield, proliferate.
RR, Sacrifice Menial Subjects: Proliferate twice.
Not Urabrask's slaves - compelled to follow him by something dim and suppressed inside.

Eight years later
Voidheart Vizier 5BBB
Creature - Djinn (R)
Lifelink
Whenever you cast a spell, look at target opponent's hand and choose a nonland card from it. That player exiles that card. When they do, each player loses life equal to half that card's converted mana cost, rounded down.
His ego trips make others fall down.
5/5
Assure Salvation WU
Instant (R)
All spells lose all types and abilities and become instants with "Create a 4/4 white Angel creature token with flying."
"Can there even be a path not leading to a brighter future? Not so." - Ooria, Archangel of Clocks
Noklis, the Abnormal Bloom BGU
Legendary Creature - Elf Druid (R)
Deathtouch
T: Untap up to two target tapped lands. Each land you don't control untapped in this way deals 1 damage to its controller.
4, T: If target permanent had a counter removed from it this turn, destroy it. Otherwise, put on it your choice of two +1/+1 counters or two counters of a kind already on it.

Creature - Artificer (R)
Whenever a Plains enter the battlefield under your control, create a colorless Equipment artifact token named Razorgrass Blade. It has "Equipped creature gets +1/+1", equip 1, and living weapon (When that Equipment enters the battlefield, create a 0/0 black Germ creature token, then attach this to it.)
2/2
It makes BLADES OF GRASS and WHEAT GERMS

Round 1 - Ith This The Real Life
In the face of impending doom, heroes gather.
For over twelve long years, these heroes have heeded a call. A call that reaches deep within their hearts and minds, bringing forth powerful spells from a thousand worlds. They have journeyed across planes, overcome great challenges, and battled one another for a place in the annals of history.
Although they look forward to a new home, a promise from the void, the only certain thing is that they must say goodbye to their current home.
For this final gathering, each hero must call forth a commander from across time and space. Ancient ideas have appeared again over the horizons, giving rise to new forms. As they have often done, each hero will begin their final journey here with a legend, and at the same time respond to the call that first brought them together.
Challenge:
Create a legendary creature with suspend.
Deadline:
Wednesday, June 5th, 11:59PM Pacific (shooting to begin Round 2 and start critiques around this day)

Sorry can't pull the image on my phone but I guess this is a Japan-only promo version of Cast Down that will be included in Corocoro Aniki magazine. Art by Ittoku.
Liliana is saying something about how people worry about being remembered after they die, but not to worry because death belongs to the nameless. As long as you have a name, bear it proudly!
Scryfall has the card image up already, here you go.

As is this just seems like Gideon looking for the Blackblade.

Healing Drakes 2GU
Creature - Drake (U)
Flying
When ~ enters the battlefield, create a 2/2 blue Drake creature token with flying, then gain 1 life for each Drake you control.
2/2
This seems good but fine to me, and I feel like green lifegain should be more tied to the creatures in some way, rather than just straight gaining life.

Also as you will see I'm going with Shaman traditions each from different planes instead of each Ravnica guild, and leaning into some unique color pair focuses rather than trying to make good generalist cards like the original.
The Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper people on Zendikar are I guess not technically shamans but I feel they should be. Balduvians also have a white-loving shaman and a weird strain of blue land-animating people but they are both wizards.
Dreamroil Shaman (W/U)
Creature - Merfolk Shaman Ally (R)
T: Untap target land creature.
W, T: Put a +1/+1 counter on target land you control. That land becomes a 0/0 Elemental creature with haste. It's still a land.
U, T: Copy target instant or sorcery spell that targets a land you control. You may choose new targets for the copy.
1/2
Mardu off colors, leaning heavily into Warrior tribal. I intentionally and weirdly also left this open to 2HG play as a nod to Battlebond. I kind of want to do a voting shaman from Fiora but it just didn't fit the world. A rebel/mercenary from Mercadia would be cool too but I can't fit all those types.
Dustride Shaman (W/B)
Creature - Human Shaman Warrior (R)
T: Target Warrior gets +1/+2 and gains lifelink until end of turn.
W, T: Create a 1/1 white Warrior creature token. Activate this ability only if a creature attacked an opponent this turn.
B, T: Until end of turn, whenever a Warrior deals damage to an opponent, you draw a card and lose 1 life.
1/2
This time, it is Marit Lage. Brine Shaman is 2/3 of the way there already. Is probably too good if it kills anything with one ice counter?
Darkrime Shaman (U/B)
Snow Creature - Human Shaman (R)
T: Add 1. Spend this mana only to cast snow spells or activate abilities of snow permanents.
U, T: Tap target creature and put an ice counter on it.
B, T: Destroy target creature with toughness less than or equal to the number of ice counters on it.
1/2
I don't think a Spirit Shaman makes sense on Kamigawa so we'll go with a disciple of Kumano who found out about The Unspeakable. This one has a lot of possible ways the abilities could fall.
Depthreach Shaman (U/R)
Creature - Human Shaman (R)
T: Add 1 for each Arcane card you own in exile and in your graveyard.
U, T: Exile target Arcane card from your graveyard. For as long as it remains exiled, you may activate its splice ability as though it were in your hand.
R, T: Discard a card, then draw a card. If you discarded an Arcane card, untap Depthreach Shaman.
1/2
Amonkhet, somewhere outside the Hekma or after the fall of Naktamun. I like the setting and the mental image for this one but the mechanical theme needs some work. I could maybe do Grixis here instead using Unearth, and change the RG one from Jund.
Dreadrot Shaman (B/R)
Creature - Jackal Shaman (R)
T: Target permanent or spell you control gains wither until end of turn.
B, T: Each player loses 3 life unless that player sacrifices a nonland permanent or discards a card.
R, T: Dreadrot Shaman deals 1 damage to each opponent for each Desert you control and each Desert card in your graveyard.
1/2
We already have the Golgari one so for red/green going to Jund.
Dracorage Shaman (R/G)
Creature - Viashino Shaman (R)
T: Target Dragon creature you control fights target creature you don't control.
R, T: Until end of turn, creature spells you cast have devour 3.
G, T: Create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. Activate this ability only if a creature died this turn.
1/2
This one is pretty wacky and doesn't have too much of a precedent but I have fond memories of red/white soulbond in Avacyn Restored, weirdly since blue and green had a lot more soulbond. The only other candidate I can think of is Zendikari Kor with Equipment.
Dawnring Shaman (R/W)
Creature - Human Shaman (R)
T: If Dawnring Shaman and target creature you control are unpaired, pair them.
R, T: The creature paired to Dawnring Shaman gets +1/+2 and gains double strike until end of turn.
W, T: You gain life equal to the total power and toughness of Dawnring Shaman and the creature paired to it.
1/2
To the elves of Shadowmoor and their persist shenanigans. Not sure about the miserable mana-fixing ability.
Dimroot Shaman (G/W)
Creature - Elf Shaman (R)
T: Until end of turn, G and W symbols on cards you own are {GW} instead.
G, T: Remove a -1/-1 counter from target creature you control.
W, T: Target creature you control gains persist until end of turn.
1/2
Ixalan is pretty obvious for this last one. Was trying to make a creature tap and explore but it was difficult to word and this version seems like an interesting cap but also plays with the G ability if you get desperate.
Driftreed Shaman (G/U)
Creature - Merfolk Shaman (R)
T: Target creature you control with no counters on it explores.
G, T: Remove a counter from target permanent you control, then double the number of those counters on that permanent.
U, T: Creatures you control gain hexproof from spells until end of turn.
