So, is the version with 3 Coalition Relic, 4 Selesnya Sanctuary, 2 Trinket Mage, and 4 SB Path to Exile just everyone's accepted version of Amulet Titan right now? I came back from a Invitational Cash tournament and Amulet like this top 4ed. Then I also saw the store's best Team player also on that version. What gives?

So we've talked about this a lot in the Amulet Titan discord, but the summary is basically that Relic is very good when people are trying to Blood Moon you and lets you sneak out turn 4 Titans when you wouldn't otherwise be able too, Trinket Mage can get you Amulets or Ballista or EE and is just a good multipurpose tool, and the Sanctuary and the Paths are mainly because there are a lot of creatures these days which Dismember and Abrade can't hit and Path is just the cleanest tool we have for answering them out of the board. Path can also be a little bit of Blood Moon insurance - Pathing your own dork in response to a Moon and then landing a Titan, for example.

I was playing Mono Red Phoenix tonight and I lost a match to an opponent who just had Dryad Militant on turn 1 two games in a row. I didn't answer it (probably incorrect of me, in fact) and he turned off my ability to dig with the backsides of my Lootings.

Hardened Scales is a sweet deck that has a lot of skill testing cards. I hope it wins.

    Can y'all help me out?

There appear to be two flex slots for value creatures. I've seen these slots filled by the following in 5-0 and good finishing lists:

At the moment I'm running 1x ranger as the fifth tribe scout. Seems like a great idea. In the other flex slot I'm running 1x trinket mage.

What's the consensus here? I haven't got many reps with the deck yet and I'm feeling like trinket mage is super slow? Please advise. Maybe my play patterns are wonky.

Mage seems slow at first, but when you take into account that it's a value piece more than a combo piece, things fall into place. Grabbing a second Amulet can be very useful, certainly, but I like Mage as a way to grab EE or Ballista when you need them while being a body you can just throw away.

Cabal Therapist looks delicious for my Mardu deck.

While there's a lot of linear decks in Modern at the moment, I feel like the format is moving back towards being somewhat more interactive.

My main deck, while it definitely has it's busted draws, is one of the most intellectually enjoyable decks I've ever played (Amulet Titan), and most match-ups are fun puzzles.

And, well. People are brewing with the new cards - the Sultai Wilderness Reclamation deck is a beautiful pile that is incredibly interactive and skill-testing and while it might not have that long of a shelf-life, the fact that we've got a format where that kind of deck is actually managing to put up some results is encouraging for me.

What is this "anti settle" tech that Gruul has. A card in Standard that is effective against Settle the Wreckage? I'm just curious to know.

Gruul Spellbreaker, which has seen some porting into Modern.

The Twin discussion is done, over. There's nothing more to say, it's all been said, we know what's happened and we can't change it.

Get down off the cross, use the wood to build a bridge, and get over it.

Amulet Titan fits all of the categories, I think. You have trouble against Blood Moon, but if you didn't they'd have to ban something from it. Again.
It's also pretty cheap to build, but that's offset by the fact that it doesn't really share any major cards with any other decks.

All in all though, Birthing pod could be a card that could be OK at the moment. Maybe not. Just throwing this out here, to have a meaningful discussion about it. Thanks for hearing me out!

Most definitely not going to happen, especially not with Vannifar just being printed.

The originator was probably from the EU, didn't agree to the new terms, and had their account terminated due to new EU laws.

Does anyone know why the Amulet Titan decks are playing Adventurous Impulse over Oath of Nissa? It just seems like the latter is strictly better, although in the context of this deck they function in the same way.

Strictly speaking, it's mainly because the extra type can pump Tarmogoyfs. Otherwise, they're functionally the same in the deck, since it doesn't run any planeswalkers, at least in the stock lists.

Storm, Lantern, KCI. Worth bringing in against Control, too, sometimes, as an additional threat that's a "must answer".
