The Goblin Electromancers have been holding the place of the blooms in my testing thus far. He can be good against decks that don't pack a lot of removal, but against something fairly fast with plenty of spot removal like various iterations of Zoo, he's very dissatisfying. I'm quite sure [card]Lotus Bloom[/card} will outperform him in those kinds of match ups.
Any thoughts on the style of this list versus the one in the OP? I'm sure some might say if I'm in UR, might as well play regular Storm, but I like that this deck is not as reliant on the graveyard as regular UR storm can be. It is easier to race this kind of deck than it is UR storm though...
@Kokusho_of_Lorwyn: I'm pretty tired, so I might be missing something. I'm wondering are the BoPs the only source of red you have to activate Kessig Wolf Run? I might toss in a copy of stomping ground or a steam vents, as I wouldn't want to be relying on having a bird without summoning sickness in play if I needed to get trample for KotR via Kessig.
Otherwise, I like the list. I, too, am more inclined to build the deck in straight-up combo fashion.
First time posting on mtgs. Been lurking here a long time though. Anyway, more to the point: I have been playing mono u tron for a little while now and something occurred to me. I have noticed some folks in this thread discussing Annul and Steel Sabotage regarding our affinity MU. Some folks don't like how narrow they are as sideboard cards which I understand if a given meta is comprised of a lot of affinity. However, for the folks that do consider cards such like the aforementioned, what would you say to Halt Order? Yes, it is more expensive, obviously, than Annul and SS... but that cantrip seems relevant in a deck like this that loves cantrips. I realize turn 3 seems pretty late against affinity. I intend on testing it out some and reporting back here when time allows, but I'm interested to hear the opinions (or gut reactions?) of the long-time mono u tron players who post here, particularly the crowd that use Annul/SS for the affinity MU. Thanks!
