yea I noticed that. Im running a Dnd Campaign and a player wanted to play as a vampire but all I can find on Innistrad vampires and sunlight is nothing. I mean they have a dnd supplement for Zendikar but those vamps can walk in daylight.
So back when original Innistrad was being promoted there was a story about a Cather and his investigation. I dont remember to many details except for the ending. In the ending he ends up putting on the collar of the bad guy he just killed and becomes evil.
I know its not much to go off of but I'm hoping someone here might know the story im talking about. If I remember correctly it was released in like parts like journal entries.
A guy i play with on a regular basis has a prossh deck that consistently goes off on turn 3-4. Its hard to disrupt as well cause he runs all the red/green counter hate. Super annoying.
To back up this point; there was a Green creature from Time Spiral that took an exiled card and shuffled it into the owners library. Since at the time there was no Command Zone, this little guy could target Exiled Commanders, and was VERY quickly banned.
The creature you are referring to is called Riftsweeper and it is most certainly NOT banned. The command zone is also NOT considered exile, it is a separate zone that there is no interaction with (other than the new commanders) and it has had no interaction for VERY good reason.
Riftsweeper is also one of the few counters to shenanigans like Jhoira's "suspend Jokulhaups/Obliterate then follow up with Kozilek/Ulamog and proceed to the winning step" in addition to getting exiled cards back into your deck, thus giving a lot of importance to exiling face down vs. face up.
As far as printing cards "specifically for commander", people can take cards to be printed for whatever format they want, but it remains that they clearly want to keep pushing the borders of cool things they can do with cards. They want new cards to be played, not just dwarfed by everything that was printed before them. So yes, there are going to be new cards printed that are better than old cards. Get used to it. If you didn't play magic in the last 5 years, you'd be missing important cards. Just like if you didn't play magic until 5 years ago, like I did, you wouldn't have MANY older staples and you'd have to spend money to get them if you wanted to be on a level field with players that had been playing since there were white borders. The argument goes both ways, but I think WotC should continue trying to do cool, fun, and innovative things with their card creation and if it really is that out of hand, the RC can ban it.
If you actually read his post he says "was" and "Since at the time" he is correct riftsweeper was banned at one point because of non existence of the command zone.
Well sadly most people that have gotten into edh have done so via the commander products and never even know where the format originates from. My case is wizards isnt helping when they put even in the inserts for the commander 2013 product that any player can find the ban list on the wizards site. no where does it mention the mtgcommander.net. It was just fustrating cause how do you argue the wizards site when the insert is telling people to go there!
I still think its criminal how Wotc has the edh banlist on the gatherer. They dont update it fast enough. We litterally had a huge upset at a LSG cause the gatherer showed Sylvan Primordial as not being banned. This cause all kinds of huge arguments...
"Look if its not on wizards offical then im not going by it!"
"How do I know mtgcommander.net isnt a fake site? It looks like it."
Until a couple weeks ago the gatherer updated and showed him banned. But omg the arguments that ensued!
Any reason your running Grayscaled Gharial over Merfolk Spy? I mean the spy is a rogue which is nice and he has a small effect as well which is rare at 1 cmc.
1. Does Isochron Scepter's copied spell trigger Zada?
2. Can you move to the Declare Blockers step if you didn't attack. For example my opponent had a Peacekeeper in play so I couldn't attack.
