I would bring in Gut Shot vs Hatebears because Thalia and Flickerwisp are a big deal. Occasionally Aven Mindsensor is a target. All our creatures are very vulnerable to Thalia's first strike. We need 2 lords in play to play around path or a Vialed in Flickerwisp. Flickerwisp is a 3/1 flier that can kill us quickly.
Playing the match up I would want it for Blade Splicer more than anything, first strike hurts so much if we don't have islandwalk active. I will bring them in no matter what in that MU.
I know that it's definitely not perfect. I really like it as a Legacy deck. But I think there's some amount of readjustment that could be done with it to at least make it testable. I tried it myself and yeah Disciple doesn't seem all that great but I think that's only because I really wasn't consistently hitting Ravagers.
Yeah I got it edited. The token just enters the battlefield so with this spell I'm pretty sure the token would never come into play. Still doesn't stop them from beating you in the face with an equipped stoneforge though
I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the number one card this hoses. Snapcaster Mage anyone? Especially with Kolaghan's Command seeing all sorts of play right now to recur him this card is my hero
Well, it doesn't hose Snapcaster at all. Snapcaster is getting cast and enters the battlefield normally and it doesn't effect spells in the yard.
EDIT: oops wow I can't read. Excuse me while I RTFC

Has anyone tried Ethereal Usher in the 7th creature slot? Its transmute cost is the same as tolaria west and fetches both of our win cons. Seems worth testing an uncounterable tutor.
The savvy opponent would just counter whatever you're tutoring for when you cast whatever you tutored for. Summoner's Pact is so tasty because it's 0 CMC in a deck that can make 6 mana with relative ease. Tolaria West can tutor a Summoner's Pact (which can tutor for a Primeval Titan) for the same cmc AND it's a land (that can find other lands, like karoo/utility lands, when you need them).
I just find that sometimes I have enough protection that I just want to go off but no tutors for tutors or summoner's pacts. Sure the usher would probably just come out against twin and control but I kind of want to test it against the fairer decks.
I run a fairly stock list now. 28 lands, 3 Tolaria, 8 dig spells between Visions and Stirrings. Thought about going back to Temple but I'm not sure yet. Maybe I just need to shuffle better haha

This is the list I have built for the GP this weekend. I have two problems with my list. 1st one being that I'm still not sure whether or not Bant Charm is right or I should just play Abrupt Decay maindeck, 2nd one being that I want Snapcaster Mage somewhere in my 75, the card he would replace is Spellskite. Is spellskite worth leaving in for any reason that Snapcaster can't cover adequately?
I know kanister did well at GP Milan, but is his sideboard ideal? Or do we lean closer to the online sideboard. What's the best sideboard for a wide open format like the upcoming modern GP in Omaha?
In this sort of meta, is it better to play Bojuka Bog or Ghost Quarter. Bog is good against delver, scapeshift, any deck looking to flash stuff back, reanimate things, or delve. While Quarter is good against things like Pod, Junk, and Control. I see that Piotr kept Quarter in, but how good is it?
First impression; Mana base needs work, can't run that many clifftop retreat. You can push it up to 8-9 colorless sources, throw in RW utility land, and 3-4 tec ege. Simian spirit is just not a solid card, and cards are very very precious here. You really ought to have that 4th flickerwisp, it's the best card in the deck. I don't know how i feel about 2 kiki jiki? One for SURE I'd test with 2 to see how it feels. Love the eidolon maindeck great synergy, it's rewarding you for vialing which is real solid and give you great game against a lotta match ups. Other than those couple points, I like it. This is pretty close to how I would build a red splash deck myself.
Thanks for the pointers about my manabase, I've been wanting to replace clifftop retreat for a while now. Rugged Prairie and a couple more basics would do this deck better than CitP tapped lands. But my counter point would be is that Spirit Guide is what pushes this deck over the top. Turn 1 Thalia/Eidolon? Bonkers. Turn 2 Arbiter+Quarter them? Ridiculous. Worst case scenario he's a chump blocker/attacker late game. Same as Noble Hierarch. I almost took out the Flickerwisps for creatures that don't die to the smallest bit of burn. But I'll try them before doing that. As far as Kiki-Jiki goes, I understand that there's a lot of 5 drops that might be alright. But none of them give you an all out combo finish or combo as well with the rest of the deck as him.
5CMC is very difficult to get to coupled with having to save a creature in hand (Spirit guide) until you get one. Most games you wont want to tick Vial up past 3 (since resto has flash) i would change Kiki for any number of red or white hate cards as well as simiian shaman to the same. when i was looking at it possibilities were for me, Ash Zealot(very meta dependent,) Avalanche Riders (who doesn't love more basic LD) Tunnel Ignus (bit of reach,) Magus of the Moon(once you have vial out you can survive it and it is like a Armageddon to other decks) and Zo-zu the punisher (another meta dependent card since it can hurt you as well,) as well as the whole schoolyard of friends in white. You could also turn two of the retreats into basics or a mountain and a eiganjo castle (sine you no longer need trip red)
edit: or even Purphoros, god of the forge (since it is ETB effect as well as a creature in all areas besides battlefield [not hurt by thalia])
All the cards you mentioned are very niche minus Rider and Magus when it comes to the red splash. Another point I had about Kiki was that Vial helps immensely. You can always play the second vial that's probably already stuck in your hand. Flashing in Kiki on your opponents turn to copy Flickerwisp or Splicer or even Arbiter to make your opponent pay more on their fetch trigger.
The reasoning behind my attachment to these cards is I've been staring at R/W Kiki lists quite a bit lately and I think the cards from Mono W D&T mesh so well with the cards from Kiki/Resto, so well I think that it possibly could be better than the W/G variant

I have this painting here that was a gift from a friend of mine. I was wondering if anyone would happen to know the value of it.
It measures 29x23 inches with frame. Without frame it's 23.5x17.5 inches.
Thanks
1 Baleful Strix
2 Etched Champion
3 Frogmite
4 Memnite
4 Ornithopter
4 Vault Skirge
3 Disciple of the Vault
2 Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas
3 Chalice of the Void
4 Cranial Plating
2 Springleaf Drum
4 Mox Opal
3 Day's Undoing
2 Thoughtcast
1 Ancient Den

1 Inkmoth Nexus
2 Tormod's Crypt
2 Ethersworn Canonist
2 Phyrexian Revoker
1 Containment Priest

2 Whipflare
I know this probably isn't the perfect list for us, but it seems like a good leaping point for a Modern variant using Disciple and Day's Undoing.
