The more I think about it the more I like the idea of humans being introduced into Lorwyn. A human settling/invasion of the plane could actually be an interesting twist where humans are the big bad of the block. The elves of the plane are extremely racist and wouldn't take too kindly to competition for their spot in the food chain, leading to a race war. This last block has shown that WOTC's not afraid to make fundamental changes to even their most popular planes for the sake of storytelling(lol).

Lorwyn was featured in Origins so I would guess we will see it again soon. The higher frequency of scarecrows in SOI block also makes me suspect a Return to Shadowmoor// The Great Aurora // Return to Lorwyn progression for a two set block soon.

I miss when we got the preview articles at 12am eastern time instead of whenever time it is now (8-12 hours later).

I'd like to see a rare escalate cycle. I'll take all the Cryptic Command knock-offs I can get.

This card is very good. Don't undersell it. It can slot into blink decks, or really any midrange deck playing white. It's white card advantage, which is hard to come by.

If there's some new keyword coming (btw which I'd love to see), I'd imagine it closer to what someone on salvation was speculating in another thread. Something like:

Immoveable - This permanent can't leave the battlefield.

It would nerf tempo effects (bounce, edicts, Time Ebb) and in many ways, be stronger than indestructible. It would put a new focus on Pacifism / Faith's Fetters effects as well as tappers.

    Or another idea:

Deathwish - This permanent can't leave the battlefield unless it's going to the graveyard.

Personally, I think the second idea is much more interesting. It'd be great for red and black.

I'm actually suspecting that we're going to return to Shadowmoor / Lorwyn within a year. SOI features scarecrows, a thing I don't believe has been done outside of Shadowmoor block.

I also agree that the block immediately following SOI should be set on a new plane.

This is the same illogical train of thought as the one with next block being Kamigawa because there's a fox in SoI. Scarecrows fit the theme well, so they got used. There's nothing more to it. And there's also been a scarecrow in the original Innistrad: One-Eyed Scarecrow. Also, the first ever scarecrow was, technically, Scarecrow.
Really, that's like saying that there's a nightmare in the block, therefore, Chainer is returning as a planeswalker.

Don't take me wrong, I'd love to see Lorwyn again, but it would need to be a tribal block and I'm damn certain that Wizards are considering Innistrad to be tribal too, just so they don't have to do anything similar for next 5 years. I mean, Maro stated somewhere that tribal was a theme in original Innistrad, so it obviously doesn't matter that the presence of tribal elements wasn't even close to Onslaught or Lorwyn.

A quick search for "scarecrow" on SCG's gatherer reveals that there are more scarecrows from Innistrad/ SOI than all other non-Lorwyn planes combined. That is why it is notable.

Not to mention Lorwyn is a place we visited in Origins, making it more likely than any other plane mentioned ITT.

As far as the tribal thing goes, it could easily be downgraded to a subtheme like the land theme wasn't nearuly as prevalent in BFZ as in ZEN.

My thoughts on the BW angel:

She's dead. But they had to have mentioned the BW angel in the story for a reason; she has to be related to the plot somehow. We also already know Liliana will be coming to Innistrad in Eldritch Moon. My guess is that Liliana brings her back to life, helping Sorin (or Nahiri) in exchange for their help later on.

The reason Liliana used the Chain Veil was to permanently destroy Griselbrand, Decadent_Creed.

Oh, I see. Scratch that option then.

There is some very good analysis and speculation in this thread. This is why I keep coming back to Salvation.

I hadn't considered Nicol Bolas beforehand, but now it seems more plausible. Slave of Bolas depicts a mind-controlled angel mentioned earlier, for visual reference.

Nahiri, from what I imagine would be incapable of mind control or inducing madness. Also, if Tamiyo is hearing voices from the moon, then Nahiri cannot be the source of the corruption. She may still be the big bad of the block and perhaps even responsible for putting the source of the corruption inside the moon, but will not be the actual source of the corruption.

Another theory: Demons on Innistrad are beings of pure black mana so if you kill them they respawn somewhere else, right?
IIRC Liliana used the chain veil to kill Griselbrand. Maybe he rematerialized corrupted by the chain veil's curse.

The real nail in the coffin however is the un-unseeable eyes and tentacles sprouting out of various humanoids. Does this sound like Nahiri? No. Bolas? Most likely not. Though the least appealing option to me, I'm really thinking it's going to turn out to be Emrakul in the moon.

Something I've been wondering is: Is Nahiri's rage her own, or is she being affected by the madness on the plane as well? My prediction at this point is that Nahiri too is affected by the madness caused by the moon being. Emrakul found Innistrad, materialized, bumped into the moon and got sucked inside like a wild pokemon. While incapable of using her annihilator abilities, Innistrad's moon is an imperfect pokeball. It leaks some of her corrupting influence, which is super-effective against the dark, gloomy world. The Emrakul problem remains unsolved by the end of Eldritch Moon, and Emmy is left as a recurring Cthulu-type character.

I wasn't into the term at first but now I'm all about those baselands. (No twodrops.)

Although I doubt MTGSalvation will be the decider of the name.

Instead of fetches we get bad dual lands?

Gyp lands would be the most accurate descriptor.

    -2/-0 for you, then.

Maybe we should start naming all our new land cycles after racial slurs?

    I've been calling them slowlands.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gyp?s=t

    Usage note
Gyp in the meanings “to swindle” or “a person who swindles” is sometimes perceived as insulting to or by Gypsies, since it stereotypes them as swindlers. However, gyp has apparently never been used as a deliberate ethnic slur, and many people are unaware that it is derived from Gypsy.

If you're a gypsy, no offence. I don't hate any ethnicities. The PC police on the other hand...
