Why am I buying physical cards if hundreds, if not thousands are going to be inaccurate? Every burn spell, tons of creatures.

If WotC wants to invalidate thousands of cards they sold to us because "lol flavor" then they should be buying back old copies and replacing them with newly printed, accurate versions.

This is an incredibly dumb line of thinking, we're so deeply entwined with technology at this point that familiarizing ourselves with Oracle text isn't that hard

The cards aren't invalidated just because the printed wording isn't up to date, and Wizards isn't going to waste their time or money printing "updated" versions with each errata just because a very tiny minority of people find it mildly inconvenient

I'd rather they make periodic improvements to the game and retrofit preexisting cards into those changes than let it stagnate in those areas, and I would want them to put their resources into anything other than pointless reprints of cards with updated Oracle text

I don't think we should have to use a smartphone to look up creature types when we play EDH. Errata-ing hundreds of cards at a time shouldn't be done lightly just because you think this wizard looks more like a warlock than a wizard. What's even the difference? In Magic there has been none. This doesn't seem like a "periodic improvement." It seems like an arbitrary distinction made for flavor purposes that causes a lot of hassle for people playing with or against tribal decks in EDH.

And obviously WotC won't replace the cards they invalidated but I think if they were held to that standard they wouldn't be making decisions like this willy-nilly because Maro or some flavor director decided they want some new cards to be cool and different.

Some cards need oracle text to function. However, these arbitrary changes didn't need to happen. Magic is already a very memory-intensive game and we shouldn't have to memorize thousands of changes repeatedly because "lol flavor"

I like these lands. It seems like they should be in pretty much every EDH deck that shares the color.

I'd love to have a 7/7 token producer in populate EDH decks but needing to include food, an underwhelming mechanic doesn't seem worth it.

If it didn't have the spell limit or the speed limit it's almost Omniscience which is super broken at 4 mana.

Pretty sure it will still count the spells you already played that turn even if you flickered it. It's a red way to cast suspend spells. Seems good but idk if costing four will hinder it. Maybe not, since red can ritual it out

I love this card. Mono red EDH decks will love it. I'd love more red control cards.

If it's true that this is actually the Big Bad Wolf because of the proximity to the spoiling of the Three Little Pigs, it's odd that Blow Your House Down was spoiled with the other, rare wolf.

Those sound interesting. I think an angel hydra based off of some biblical depictions of angels with multiple heads, faces and wings could be awesome and leave room for artistic interpretation. The closest we have is the meld angels from the Innistrad return. An angel hydra could rely less on the body horror and just be a weird design like Kamigawa spirits or Lorwyn elementals

    So red hydras are black?

(Red: attack every turn, hydra: prevent damage, lose head counter.)

Not necessarily. While it's also in green, Phantom Nantuko, Phantom Nishoba, and a little less similarly, Undergrowth Champion share the ability. I think it would have made a little more sense for it to be a spirit but I'm okay with the design.

Hydras without an X is just terrible design.

Hydras are supposed to grow heads , this is just ABUSING the tribal name and thats outright bad.

    Card itself is fine.

Should simply NOT be a hydra, turtle ok, but hydra is so tacked on, like brute forcing a tribe into a card just because.

the only shimmer of flavor is that 5+ mana creatures can at least be hydras with X in them, but thats a super remote connection if at all, and again a forced synergy just to make it happen ; i very much disapprove of that kind of design.

Hard disagree. What if every merfolk needed islandwalk or every dragon needed firebreathing tacked on? That would be incredibly limiting and lead to the same old stale designs being used again and again with very little opportunity for variation. I believe having (X) in the cost is even more limiting than that. Having such a rigorous restriction applied to a creature type also means that deviations and interesting creature type combinations can't be created, like Malfegor, or the flying Merfolk Elf (name escapes me.) The more interesting variations in this card game, the better IMO.
