Deadbridge Chant is an all-star for decks like this. Some other ramp help in black include Crypt Ghast and Nirkana Revenant. Liliana of the Dark Realms also advances your swamps way ahead and is nuts combined with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. Another killer repeatable removal spell in this type of deck that gets you things in the graveyard with minimal loss is Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet. You can either kill your own creatures and get tokens that keep you from losing raw power on board and allowing you to scavenge, or kind of steal your opponents creatures in a roundabout way.
I was running so few lands simply because the curve is low and it doesn't take much mana to get out my main spells. The Servant was there to help "accelerate" into the overload costs if needed. What would you have me do instead of the servants as far as card draw is concerned?
Well, standard-playing folk, I am deciding to finally jump into standard from only playing casual and EDH Commander amongst a playgroup of close friends. I don't want to just build one of the decks that everyone else is using in standard, like Mono-Black Devotion or Jund Monsters or B/G Constellation. So I've settled on a fairly straightforward U/R Control build that seems like lots of fun but also matches up well against the big guys of standard. Here's the deck:
The main synergy in the deck revolves around the Jest and the Staticaster. Being able to have lots of one-sided boardwipes is a huge plus for this deck, especially against devotion decks and Monsters.
Any suggestions are appreciated, especially from seasoned standard players! Thanks!
