    I would say we definitely would want a lower CMC than Wanderer. The fact that you need all colored mana to get him out as opposed to 5RGU means he would need to hit those colors faster and better, so the colorless ramp isn't anywhere near as good for him. You could almost use him as Voltron since casting spells pulls up auras and equipment (Casting Runes of the Deus could also pull up Fists of the Demigod, for instance).

    Also, since our ramp will focus more on getting colors other than just getting loads of mana, I think Violent and Cruel Ultimatums will be useful cards. They cost 8 for Cascade and provide game changing effects without even adding in Cascade. And of course, there's Delve with Gurmag Angler and Treasure Cruise.

    Also, how does Cascade work with Morph? For Sagu Mauler and stuff.

    Maelstrom Nexus already says "If the first spell you cast in a turn already has cascade, both cascade abilities will trigger separately. Deal with them one at a time: First one cascade ability will resolve, and you’ll cast the applicable card if you want. That new spell will resolve. Then the other cascade ability will resolve in the same way. Finally, the original spell will resolve." So I assume that if you hit with Yidris and then cast Wanderer you would Cascade 3 times.

    So with Yidris, if I were to attack, hit, and cascade into a Seize the Day and then attack again and hit, would that give my spells Cascade, Cascade?

    Seriously, what were they thinking? The other partners do attacky-blocky things and maybe draw you a few cards. The UG pair lends itself to infinite combo.

    I'm tempted to make the deck now.


    It requires a little bit more set up than just the partners (You'd need a way to untap, and you only draw if it's not a land), and having two easily telegraphed creatures that are both in Bolt Range will greatly hamper the combo, me thinks.

    Saskia is more powerful than she lets on. Her ability isn't an ETB effect; it's just something that happens. Note how it doesn't say "When", but rather "as", so it can't be stifled. She also helps solve the problem of having to go through 120 life in a pod, aggros biggest problem. With any sort of damage doubling effect, having a Goblin Guide deal 4 damage to one opponent and 8 damage to another isn't anything to sneeze at.

    Personally, I think she'll do best in an Aggro Combo shell that's trying to fill up it's graveyard as fast as possible with creatures (dredge creatures, cycling, and just playing Guides, Zoo creatures and similar) for a Living End style finish. A Madrush Cyclops in there ensures the kill. Living End, cast her, swing for the fence. Might not be totally effective, but absolutely cool.

    How do we know the Chaos deck is headed by an Ogre with Cascade? I haven't seen him yet.

    I only started to get a desire to play Chaos when I got shackled to a playgroup that plays total carebear. I just don't like the commanders for such, so I'm kind of hoping Whiteless is pretty good. Otherwise I'll probably go with Blueless.

    Requires too much setup, I think. For that plan to work, you actually need Tymna and Kydele out plus enough creatures to attack (and connect with!).


    Absolutely agreed. Though at the very least Black and Blue grant creatures unblockable easy enough, it's still waaaaay too many hoops to jump through.

    Ravos looks like a solid commander even without a partner, which is nice. He plays well with Reyhan. Reyhan also makes the new Ishai better, since her (his?) counters are not lost if he/she dies.

    K-T only gives you one card; "Each player may put a land card from his or her hand onto the battlefield, then each opponent who didn't draws a card." You get to Explore every turn, opponents just get to choose which half is better for them that turn.

    The worst part is that he's absolutely worthless. His ability, unlike Edric which says "You can't attack me to draw", is just "Someone else has to take damage".

    As long as they hit someone for 1, they can hit you for 15 and still draw a card....

    I've seen people call them "Color-less" (Blackless, Whiteless, Redless), I've seen them refered to by their Nephelem name (Ink-Treader, Dune-Brood, and on), and I was just kind of wondering what we were collectivaly going to call them.

    I'm personally a fan of calling the WRGB one "Jundaya". Jund + Naya = Jundaya.

    Boros Battleshaper and Searing Meditation are both effects that players have been asking for for a looooooong time now, yet every Boros commander we get is "I hit things very hard". Basandra, Battle Seraph is as close as we've gotten to something actually interesting in those colors, but due to how they worded it the only people she hinders are R/W because they want to cast spells in combat the most.

    That's why everyone gets annoyed by the Boros Legendaries. There's so much design space in Combat that's being unused (Dictating combat, cast on combat, yadda) that could be awesome. Heck, a Boros (Guild, not color) leader with a permanent Sunforger Effect would be awesome, or simply a "Whenever you attack, deal X damage to a creature, where X is the number of attacking creatures you control. You gain X life" or anything.

    Everyone kind of wants Boros to remain the Combat Color. No one wants that to mean every legendary comes stapled with Doublestrike + Keyword (usually Vigilance or Haste).
