I guess I'm going to re-joice about this now. Top is good, but quite quite good post-rotation, the way that testing has been. Good call wizards.
Well, I guess testing without Alara in Extended isn't a fair evaluation, but still. If it does things on a grand scale without Alara in Extended, it's still pretty damn good. Again, good call.
I must say, deck naming can be atrocious in Magic. You can just really call your deck anything, and if it sticks... well, good luck. I'm no fan of the name Long.deck, but ah well. That's my opinion...
Now I saw someone ask about Next Level Blue. Let's go back one step, and look at what it was named before -> Jugan Blue. It was actually a joke Brian Kelly, the creator of Jugan Blue, had come up with. He had it to the point he almost placed a single copy of Jugan, the Rising Star in his sideboard for the PTQ at Worlds Last year. Man's a good guy btw.
I also believe Solar Flare originated from how Angel of Despair looked like Krillin to the Japanese, and Taiyouken [Solar Flare], his signature move was the name of the deck. Oh, if you had put red in the deck instead of black, and added Bogardan Hellkite, the deck name changed to Shoryuken [Dragon Punch], Ryu's signature move.
Naming is fun I think I'm probably name something after a dragon at some point. Ryusei White anyone?
Would anyone happen to know if there's any Magic the Gathering events for the upcoming San Diego Comic Con? I'm trying to decide last minute if I want to hit it up or not...
So I placed at Anime Expo and won the acclaimed Mutavault. Here's my winnings from the weekend.. I'd have to say, bringing a Standard deck to Anime Expo was totally worth it? [ played Elves to win the tourney ]
I was there at Anime Expo as well and I won the tourney, netting myself a Mutavault. It just makes me wonder if maybe Wizards is holding back some amount of Mutavaults, or something else...
if anyone has played World of Warcraft TCG, they know that Epic-Rares exist... some of them have a ridiculous price on them. But most Epics that see print are pretty janky, but flavorful, and just fun to see. I see no reason to be surprised that they bring a new rarity into the game. As long as MaRo follows what he says, we're only going to see legends and planeswalkers, flavorful cards. And even then, it's not like they're hard to get, they're only twice as rare. With the smaller set sizes, it's like it never was Mythic at all.
I know people are gonna ***** and moan. We're gonna whine, and cry, and say we're gonna quit. We don't like change in our little world. But I've been rolling with the punches since Mirage. I'm sure most people will adapt to this change and see it through.
I had UBR Mannequin built up for a while, and if you're splashing for Red, you definitely need to try Void and Siege-Gang Commander .
Those cards are definitely the best red you can have in Mannequin. I also don't feel you need the elemental search that's in your deck, nor the Pandemonium. You could definitely have a good use for Profane Command though. That card is not only your 5-8 reanimate spell, but also another win con for you.
I can't really agree with any reasons to banning the 'goyf. We've had creatures that were efficient in the past, but as far as that goes, they also had no evasion or protection. Goyf is rediculously priced for a card in T2... but he's probably better in extended and the enteral formats.
So no. Banning Goyf would be on the same line as saying let's ban Watchwolf.
I'm liking R/G stompy more and more...just with Deus of Calamity, it's seeming like a house. If there's an efficient 3x:symrg: beater, I'm down for it even further.
I have a continuous dream that keeps building up every so often...
It basically starts off with myself getting voted into the Magic the Gathering Invitationals through the consensus of the Amateur Vote. I end up flying out to Paris and off to some sort of hotel-convention area, where I see this huge lining of pros. And then, I hear my name called for Round 1 of... Iron man format!? Playing Vintage, against Antoine Ruel, one of my favorite pros.
It hasn't built up further than that, but so far.. it's a whacky dream.
And now... who will do all the movie trailers? ._.;

2 Justice Toast
1 Kithkin [ myself]
3 Faeries
1 Doran
1 Wrb deck [ no clue what it had. White based though. ]
I'm sure there'll be clearer standings within a few weeks. :3

Sounds like a fun deck. Maybe Intruder Alarm with some of your Tims?
My friend was piloting Affinity with a really inadequate board for aggro-loam..
