How is that name and mana cost going to even fit on the card?

here are a few red cards showing a red theme i kind of like

    [unnamed orc] 2R
    Creature - Orc Berserker
    Haste
As * comes into play, you may sacrifice a creature with power 2 or less. If you don’t, sacrifice *.
    3/2

    Arsenal Armodon 3RR
    Creature - Elephant
When Arsenal Armodon comes into play, sacrifice any number of creatures with power 2 or less. Put a +1/+1 counter on Arsenal Armodon for each creature sacrificed this way.
Remove a +1/+1 counter from Arsenal Armodon, R: Arsenal Armodon deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
    3/3

    Totem Stoker R
    Creature - Goblin Shaman
Whenever a creature with power 3 or more comes into play under your control, you may add R to your mana pool.

  • posted a message on Mike Huckabee
Well his main source of popularity stems with, I think, the dissatisfaction of the Christian right with the republican front-runners. They had to choose from:

    1. Giuliani, who is socially liberal and a horrible person/candidate,
    2. Romney, who is Mormon,
    3. McCain, who conservatives hate anyways,

leaving Paul, Fred Thompson and Huckabee to pick up their votes. Paul is probably too obscure/radical/anti-war for them. Thompson has some popularity around here (he isn't a bad candidate, despite being a lobbyist), but I think Huckabee's humor and staunch religious positions are what propelled him to the top of the polls.

Nothing is the absense of something. Just as dark is the absense of light and cold is the absense of heat. Nothing does not exist except as an abstract.

How do you feel about the Blasters and Masters though?

Don't take this the wrong way, but those are both terrible, terrible names.

    Explosive Zombie - :1mana::symb:
    Creature -- Zombie Warrior (C)
Whenever a red spell or ability deals damage to Explosive Zombie, sacrifice it. If you do, it deals 2 damage to each creature.
    2/1

i like this card, it's interesting. however i think it's far too narrow. maybe change it to being targetted by a red spell or ability? i think it still fits with the flavor while making a neat pyroclasm variation. anyways, great flavor, i can just imagine a zombie bloated with combustive swamp gases...

    How about:

When CARDNAME is put into your hand from your library, you may reveal it and pay 2B. If you do, put it into play and destroy target nonartifact, nonblack creature.

On the fear thing, you could say "and can block creatues with fear as though they did not have that ability." like how old Reach worked with flying. To be honest, you could cost it at just W, most of the time it's just inferior to Holy Strength.

Alternatively, it could say "~ can block as though it were black.", right?

I really like Netherdelve. Although it's kind of limited in its uses, it's really cool. I think it would be better if you could use it on other players though.

The Owl is definately overcosted. Blue NEVER has 0 cards in hand. And a blue player would not comprimise his/her strategy for a single card at EOT.

A lot of this makes no sense. Loyaly isn't defined, nor is the number in brackets at the botton or the meaning of "-X". And why do they have their first names as subtypes? Does that serve any purpose at all?

if you don't read the rumor mill then this wouldn't make sense to you. if you do then it should be obvious. planeswalkers have their names as subtypes so that you can't have multiple planeswalkers in play that i supposed to be the same people. this is to avoid the problem that legendary has (how can one have two kamahl's in play at the same time?). planeswalkers commonly change their form and ideals so i can only assume we will see different versions of old planeswalkers as sets continue.

If you're going to invent keywords, you really need to define them. I really want to say something more positive, but I can barely understand what these cards do.

i don't see any keywords that he's invented, sorry.

as for the cards i suppose i can't really comment too much, as we don't know for sure the rulings on planeswalkers. i've always liked the idea of card draw in red, though.

    Fomori Tormentor

    Creature — Giant Spirit
    Haunt, suspend 3—BR
When the creature Fomori Tormentor haunts is put into a graveyard from play, put three time counters on Fomori Tormentor.

The art from both the original Treetop Village and the new one both clearly show Apes. That's why it turns into an Ape creature :\

Maybe... more CRAB PEOPLE!!! (Obscure South Park reference for the win.)

It's not really an obscure reference when you point it out yourself, and when it's from a fairly popular TV show.

I've always been a huge fan of non-generic races. You can only make so many Goblins before you get sick of them. That's why I love Loxodon and Vedalken so much... Anthropomorphic elephants aren't exactly something that's common in the fantasy genre.

Make a race yourself, it just makes your set that much more interesting.
