It looks like Slivers is a go! Just gotta figure out an ideal composition.

Diffusion Sliver is probably a rock star against Phoenix and we beat normal creature combat even in the air. Phoenix is Dangerous, but we can have solvable board states against it. I am not sure Damping Sphere does enough though. Warping Wail and Chalice seem like ok answers to it and has benefits elsewhere.

I wonder if they will print more tribal lands. I mean there are some tribal lands they could reprint like Wirewood Lodge. They could easily also print more variations and powerful variations of Cavern of Souls. Perhaps even Tribal Legendary Lands like providing mana-cost reduction per chosen tribe or other benefit while still providing colored mana.

No, but I am obsessing over the possibility of Modern Horizons to get us really good and necessary Legacy Slivers Crystalline, Hibernation, Muscle), plus the possibility of new Slivers that could be valuable in this modern environment.

    Crystalline Sliver
    Hibernation Sliver
    Muscle Sliver
    Hunter Sliver
    Winged Sliver

These are the cards that I most want, especially the first 3. I basically want to play with Daniel Nunes Legacy Sliver list with or without the Force of Will

I mean there are legacy decks with ancestors in modern (even if weakened) like Pox, Slivers, etc. If they could provide cards to help those decks like Crystalline Sliver, Hibernation Sliver, Muscle Sliver, and perhaps Hunter Sliver, I would be a happy camper.

Obviously this set is designed in some way to shake up the meta of modern, I hope though that swarmy strategies don't go away in to the night.

I think Modern Horizons will absolutely power up spell-based decks. One of the power imbalances of pre-8th edition is the power and variety of spells available to reprint. Obviously, the new spells could be creatures to make up the difference.

I hope though that Modern Horizons doesn't power up spell-based strategies to the extent like in Legacy that aggro and specifically creature-based swarm strategies like most tribal decks like Humans, Spirits, Elves, Merfolk die or are non-existant outside of fringe decks. I hope it also powers up other fringe creature-swarm decks like Goblins, Slivers (with Crystalline, Hibernation, Muscle, and Hunter Sliver).

One of the upsides for players of power cards is that by upping the power level of the format with reprints and modern focused cards, it also allows the power-level to increase to such that cards can be UNBANNED from the list as the format will have sufficiently changed pre-Modern Horizons.

One of the reasons that I like Modern is that you can have hatebears, zoo decks, and tribal decks of all different stripes competeting, at least, it was that way a few years ago. Creature heavy decks like Humans and Spirits might have become weaker now thanks to phoenix decks. I hope they continue working with the format to promote and sustain creature-heavy decks compared to spell-heavy decks. There are not many if any other eternal formats that support creature heavy decks like Modern does.

I fear bringing in so many pre-8th edition cards that they will push spells past the point that creature heavy decks can work well enough like already exists in Legacy.

I like tribal decks in modern and they have their place. I am a fan of modern elves of all stripes, merfolk, humans, spirits and off-brands like Shamans, Slivers, and Allies.

I mean they can power-up some of these tribes like Humans or Spirits with new cards (as I don't think there are old humans or spirits that would make a difference), reprints of Conspiracy/Commander humans and spirits. However, I am looking forward to maybe tribal support like Birchlore Ranger, Crystalline Sliver, Hibernation Sliver, Muscle Sliver, Wirewood Symbiote, and perhaps others that could be of help.

All I want is Crystalline Sliver, Hibernation Sliver, Muscle Sliver, and perhaps Hunter Sliver and Force of Will.

If they are upping the power-level of modern, they could maybe help out with this Fringe-Legacy Playable deck in modenr.

I guess it will do well if they have slimmed down on their 2 mana spells. It can also be too slow at times I have found if we can't get a board presence. It is possible we need more life gain in this format. Warping Wail can also counter a sorcery burn spell. In essence, we are the control deck and we have to think of control deck strategies.

I am not sure what is the appropriate strategy against Phoenix. I think striking sliver, galerider sliver, lifegain, diffusion and sedge are going to be important here.

I wonder if it will be something similar to Legendary matters.

We will see a ton of planeswalkers, but maybe as Legendary Creature cards as they have their sparks lost or suppressed thanks to the Immortal Sun. Its soon after Dominaria, but it would be interesting to have such thing again in the same set.

I want to play this in a RG/x Dinosaur Deck.

This may make Dinosaurs more viable against a control heavy meta while also helping race aggro decks. It helps Thrashing Brontodon and Regisaur Alpha act as a blocker and safe from Lava Coil. It means Ripjaw Raptor can attack as early as turn 3 or Carnage Tyrant turn 4? It can even help you cast Ghalta, Primal Hunger if you play him.

Less Removal on the whole, but a big fatty aggro deck? This helps. I am not sure how many of this effect I want, but I will certainly try 1-2 in the main deck, and definitely in a sideboard.

It can also help Savage Stomp if you play it, to kill bigger creatures and survive.

This could be an interesting sideboard option with Shamans.

Can't be countered, but more like all your creatures gain riot (haste or a +1/+1 counters). I think this would favor birds and other mana dorks as wel.

This is good for Dinosaurs maybe 1 in the main deck, but definitely in the sideboard vs. Control.

Modern might have a use if an Arbor Elf/Utopia Sprawl Gruul aggro deck comes in. Bloodbraid can find this as well.

Very good for EDH for gruul colors including Xenegos.

My pet Shaman deck might have found the card along with Judith, to play alongside Rageforger.

Judith is a good reason to go Jund i think. We don't have a sac outlet, outside Plaguecrafter I think.

However, its another lord that is a shaman with an interesting ability!

Judith might fit into a Jund Shaman deck. Shamans needed a lord and here one is.
