Thank you for your suggestions!
I will definitely be getting Monstrify and some of the anti-shroud/hexproof like Bonds of Mortality and Detection Tower look intriguing.
I will probably be picking up Exploration to help with the extra forests when using draw spells. I do like Resize as well as Traverse the Outlands and Soul's Majesty. I will look into them. Thank you again!

Jul 10, 2019Hello all,Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
I am building Gargos, Vicious Watcher as a Hydra Tribal deck for EDH. I had built a very budget (save for the cards I had from other decks) Progenitus Hydra tribal deck. I want to build an improve on Gargos. The only stipulation is generally that it has all the mono-green and colorless hydra.
I am interested in improving the deck and making it better. I may not have the budget immediately, but I am interested in testing better solutions and other packages with the deck. I am thinking improvements along the lines of Mana Reflections, Exploration, Burgeoning, Azusa, Song of the Dryads, Nissa (new), Gaea's Touch.
I was inspired with some of this deck by Commandertheory's deck list.

just wanted an idea what people thought or could be changed so far works pretty well.
Hello...welcome to Slivers.
We have a modern sliver thread right here https://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/477676-modern-slivers?page=79#c2273 I am sure sliver experts would love to make sure you have a fun experience with your Hive.
Jun 27, 2019Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)Quote from ardillacody »I'm going to stick with my CoCo version of Slivers along with Blasphemous Act - Spiteful Sliver "combo", even without Blasphemous Act, the ability of Spiteful stacks if we have multiple of them in the battlefield.
I think that Horizon lands can help a bit drawing an extra card (mostly a creature) to add a bit more pressure to the opponent. With mana generator slivers, it should not punish us that much, as we can generate tons of it.
I think your biggest problem might be casting CoCo or blaesphemous act. Good Luck though and tell us the results!
Jun 26, 2019It is hard to run 4 drops in modern without mana acceleration. I think if you are running Werewolves without mana acceleration you are doomed to failure. The problem with running mana acceleration is that it takes away from your Werewolf and Wolf plan. It is one of the reasons the deck isn't great in modern, but could be really really fun.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
I tried running planeswalkers in the 4 drop slot to provide removal, card draw, and extra things. However, the needs of disruptions, mana dorks, and enough lands also curtail the amount of werewolves that can be run.
Jun 24, 2019I recently played this list to a 3-0-1 FNM. It worked as planned.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo
I went with the thinking that Graveyard decks, Faster Decks, and Tron would be prevelant. So, I would need to gear to shut down strategies and be superfast. This is what I did and why I built the way that I did for more comb and protection oriented. I would probably replace Phyrexian Revoker with Collector Ophre and try to replace something with Elvish Champion (maybe Sylvan Messenger or Gutshot (infect), Burrington Forge-Tender. I might also replace the second scooze main deck (put in the side), and then put in a second Finale of Devestation in the main.
I beat Burn, Blue Moon, and Tron. I ID'd vs. HollowOOne.
Jun 22, 2019Oh yeah, my dinosaur deck just got more awesome! I can get thrashing brontodon or wakening sun's avatar or deathgorge scavenger or a host of interesting Dino's as necessary. It gets removal, summoning relevant Dino's, and buffs them as well. Awesome.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Jun 21, 2019I think people are still experimenting on lists and cards. Since, no major sliver deck so far has seen any results after the new slivers have been provided and tantalizingly fewer results even post-Adam Bowman's now traditional list.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
Once somebody has success with a Sliver deck and that result is reproducible (like Adam Bowman's list was), then we will get around to a coalescing down to a list.
I am using Adam Bowman's list as an example because it had reproducable results on the big stages, at Modern Leagues, and Modern Challenges as well as local tournaments as I personally can attest.
I know you think your list is the best and it might even be the most competitive, but a lot of people aren't convinced. Want people to be convinced? Start winning with it in a way that the results are public. This is the answer to pretty much any list, my meme list and traditional list included.
Until then, we will certainly critque and not acknowledge your list as the best until then. I for one prefer something else, but I do like your 8 dorks list. I think though it could be slow despite the explosiveness to other lists. I also use Virulent Sliver over Striking Sliver to help hands that aren't lord heavy get quick wins against Tron and other few threat lists.
Also: I want to make it clear that I value the input and dedication you are willing to put in this forgotten in a competitive sense tribe. It takes a lot of testing and work to make a new archetype competitive that hasn't been there before. However, the new cards have only been out a few weeks and aren't the true game changers like Crystalline Sliver would have been. It is ok to be skeptical of any one true competitive list yet.
There are a lot of new tools including Spiteful Sliver that could provide interesting new avenues such as the Elf-Like 8 Sliver dork list or Fast Sliver lists or Dregscape-focused lists.

Jun 12, 2019I don't think this list is competitive, but this is a fun list, I may be trying out in the near future.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
I would love to get dregscape or lavabelly in here, but I value the stupid amounts of protection that a full playset of Diffusion and Mariner provide in this build as I need the mana slivers to survive. I don't like running the 4 Leylines. I would prefer Damping Sphere, Syphon Sliver, Frenetic Sliver, and Telekinetic Sliver. Sad that there is only so many slots.
Jun 3, 2019It certainly looks interesting and entertaining. Let me know how it goes? I might want to try The First Sliver in here some where. I agree with the Gut Shot, but might want to add dismember as well for Thing and other large creatures. I might want to have some lifegain in the main with Darkheart preferably due to dregscape or the new lavacoil sliver. I might add some Telekinetic Slivers as well for another way to lock up the game where Necrotic Sliver might not be as good.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
Why not mana confluence or 2 canopy lands for Aether hubs
May 28, 2019I am not sure what it would it take to differentiate the two.Posted in: Modern
We have similar lords to Merfolk although lack the ability to really interact with the opponents stack and boardstate with spells/specific utility merfolk (trickser/hibernation), but can get faster with better defensive utility with regeneration, blink, firstrike, lifegain.
We have similar lords to Spirits, but lack their ability to interact with the stack and play at flash speeds, but are bigger, faster, with better combat tricks.
We can have similar explosive boardstate to Elves with mana slivers, but lack combo finish and pure speed.
We have interesting utility like Humans although more difficult to get tall and can't interact with the stack or opponent.
Slivers is an interesting tribe. In many ways, we currently play like a hybrid between merfolk and elves with explosive power with tricky aspects. Our most powerful position is in defensive strategy. We can grind it out with Sliver Hive and a few other slivers and can answer most things on a battlefield although slowly. We struggle with doing it proactively. We just lack proactive solutiosn to problem. Elves have speed/combo. Humans with Freebooter/meedling mage. Merfolk have blue spells and great ETB utility. Spirits has Flash and Stack Interaction.
Slivers is fine probably in a pure control or aggro meta where it can leverage trickery/grinding ability with the best on the battlefied keywords. Mana Struggles and lack of proactive solutions to modern's problems (outside of some sideboard cards) inhibits the deck's ability to move forward a little.
Slivers plays best on the battlefield and you gotta be faster (Elves) or have someway to proactively disrupt through the stack while adding to the battlefield and yet slivers are best when reactive and when boardstates could get gummed up.
As to make it a better thing, it could stall out the game and grind out value which is where Explore/Scry/Hexproof could be valuable where while presenting a reasonable clock. Provoke could be a way to deal with pesky creatures either suiciding or with first strike to get them out of the way.
In Legacy Slivers exist as a decent aggro deck (for as much as pure aggro decks work in legacy) thanks to Crystalline Sliver. In some ways, I guess Slivers could supplant or shift what Spirits do just on the battlefield level.
It could try to become more of a combo deck with interesting ways to do that, but better protection and filtering would help me with a control style build
For just aggro Slivers, provoke would be good. It would solidfy that Slivers are the best on combat tribe and provide ways to achieve that state.
