Speaking of acceleration, have people's thoughts changed at all about Elven Spirit Guide or Simian Spirit Guide even for a mono-white deck, instead of Lotus Petal, Chrome Mox or Mox Diamond?
I remember back during the early green splash testing, and even mono-white before that, I played around with ESG briefly, and it had some pros and cons to it:
Pros:
Mana ability isn't taxed by Thalia
Can surprise and frustrate Daze players when you can pay 1
Can be vialed in on 3 if you're desperate, can hold a sword, and dodges Massacre
Doesn't cost an extra card like Chrome Mox or Mox Diamond does
Isn't a terrible top-deck, unlike Chrome Mox or Mox Diamond
Cons:
Only produces G, which is effectively generic in a mono-white deck
Can only be played with a Cavern on "Elf", or a Vial on 3 (or Show and Tell/Eureka if you're up poop creek)
Like Lotus Petal, can only be used once for it's mana ability
Yet another 3-drop
Can't do awesome stuff like T1 Ancient Tomb, Lotus Petal, THC
Just spitballing, but if we're worried about Sanctum shutting off StP at one, there's always Journey to Nowhere and Declaration in Stone at 2 CMC. Both have their drawbacks, but there's options out there.
I'm terrified to think how much this is going to cost, my wife is already grumpy at my Recruiter pre-order.
As someone who literally just finished making this deck, I'm kinda salty about them printing another staple so soon.
Yeah, but what a staple. Don't be salty, be ecstatic!
I've messaged Maro at least once a month for the last year or so asking him if a white Recruiter was within the realm of possibility. Guess I need to find something else to bug him about now.
Oh. My. God. It's happening. It's really happening. Article coming later tonight.
Pre-ordering for a whopping <strike>$20</strike> $15 on SCG. Can't decide if that's overpriced considering how much the set will be opened, or if it's a bargain considering it's an on-color Imperial Recruiter.
Either way, I'm grabbing a paper bag to breathe into.
Can you link the preorder page? original conspiracy was in small supply around here

The new Thalia is exciting to me. 3/2 first strike is already quite good.
Creatures coming in tapped so they can't block and haste is meaningless is great. It also means that opponents can't flash or vial in a blocker against us, including Batterskull.
There's Masako the Humorless to counteract that, but if someone brings her in specifically against Thalia 2.0, then hats off to them (although if White Eldrazi ever adopts Thalia 2.0, you never know).
I remember busting out Meekstone back when TNN first became a thing, because I didn't know how to deal with it, and Council's Judgment wasn't a thing yet. Her plus Meekstone is pretty funny against Griselbrand, Emrakul, TNN, Tarmo and more.
I like how it's another attack vector against Sneak Attack, too.
EDIT: Misread her as a 2/2 instead of a 3/2, so I guess Meekestone is kind of a bombo.
EDIT 2: Turn 3 New Thalia, Turn 4 Cataclysm could be pretty back-breaking.
WInstigator Goblins drops some or all Wastelands and Ports for Cavern of Souls and/or Pendelhaven, and adds Warren Instigators (as the namesake implies).
The builds vary wildly, though, as you can see here:
Yeah, the 10/1/2012 ruling for Rest in Peace in Gatherer says:
While Rest in Peace is on the battlefield, abilities that trigger whenever a creature dies won’t trigger because cards and tokens never reach a player’s graveyard.
I'd assume the same would be said of lands as well, and since Flagstones never reaches your graveyard, you don't get the search.
Source on the Crocodile? I don't see it in the spoilers. I don't think its good enough to make the cut either way. It seems way to easy to get 2 for 1'ed by removal spells with it.
I think Wildfire Emissary is definitely cubeable, and I like that it supports the more controlling red decks. I will definitely be adding it. Plus I really like the artwork.
Seasons Past is spiking very hard. As is Dark Petition all thanks to the GB control list Finkel was playing on camera. Watched them spike as he cast them.

Oh Marks Card Shop, is there any buyout you aren't behind?

Hint: You pick "1" every time.
I think I'm going to have a stroke.
