Jul 5, 2017RileyMcAwesome posted a message on The World of TherosHey, great article. I was recently talking to a friend about how I didn't know anything about Theros (other than I love their gods for EDH decks!). My only question: do you have more information or links about Gideon's "indestructible aura?" It isn't mentioned in his gamepedia page.Posted in: Articles

In the storyline on wizards.com shows that the spark gave Ugin new magics, right?
Oracle text on gatherer.wizards.com:
Card Name: Shield Sphere
Mana Cost: 0
Converted Mana Cost: 0
Types: Artifact Creature — Wall
Card Text: Defender
Whenever Shield Sphere blocks, put a -0/-1 counter on it.
Flavor Text: "My soldiers know that they need never fear for their protection."
—King Darien of Kjeldor
P/T: 0 / 6
Hmmm, this generally only makes an Eldrazi cost 1 or 2 less right? I was hoping it said, "Colorless spells cost WUBRG." I think this is going to be broken in cheerios style decks. Turn 3 Tron into this, 4 memnites. Next turn island, paradoxical outcome, drop everything again plus ornithopters to wipe out their whole board. Maybe if it said whenever you cast a colorless creature with CMC 7 or more?
If it was a Jodah, Archmage Eternal for colorless it could have some interesting builds in EDH (but would probably be just worse than Jodah, Archmage Eternal other than the 0 CMC artifact creatures)
I also dislike when someone concedes and it makes me lose a stolen permanently. You're screwing me over through consequences of the game. Similarly, if you concede before my lifelinker can do damage? Screw you.
EDIT: In response to illakunsaa, I completely disagree. You're saying its better to play poor rules? And calling house rules "cheating?" I'm sorry for your playgroup... When I win, I want to win because I played better, smarter. When I lose I want it to be because I didn't. I don't want to lose because some sore player concedes to screw me over. That isn't fun or strategic. You're taking the planning out of the game.
Conceding is someone saying "I'm upset I'm losing, I don't want anyone else having fun if I'm not." And that's what the game is about. Having fun. For everyone.
Not too knowledgable of standard... but with 9 mana couldn't you be winning anyway? And in nexus decks, don't you just start winning when you cast it anyways?
But that would be 26 right. It just acts as a trap, so between the two you only get 2 castings. 26 cards.
