There has been a good amount of tribal support recently that lets you choose your tribe. I'd like some help putting together a list of those types cards.
I started with a gatherer search for "choose a creature type" and this is what I found:
Phyrexian Arena is probably the gold-standard for fair card draw if you don't like Necropotence. With Merieke you may get milage out of Consuming Aberration and Grim Haruspex. Although, I find that creature-based card draw is too fragile. Consecrated Sphinx is great, but it's such a target that I find it's less useful than Recurring Insight unless I'm abusing reanimation or already in the lead.
Rhys is a bit overrated in my experience. He's fairly clunky outside of his ability to double up on tokens you already have. I find it works better to have a commander that can generate tokens and then include support for that with a few backup options.
Ghave, Guru of Spores is probably the strongest tokens commander, although Marath, Will of the Wild is a close contender. Both of them can pull off powerful combos with cards that are already good in token decks meaning you can get explosive wins that don't compete with your main gameplan.
Prossh, Skyraider of Kher lends herself to a tokens subtheme, but that's mostly as sacrifice fodder as Jund tends to like.
It is my opinion that we (at least those involved in this issue) live in a country that bases its judgement on the philosophy of "innocent until proven guilty."
That's for courts of law, though, not for courts of public opinion. While cases like Sprankle's are very clear-cut with lots of evidence of harassment, the greater problems facing women in the community boil down to lower-tier harassment that adds up over time, with little to no evidence to "prove" guilt. Hence why it's imperative to believe women when we say when an environment or player is being toxic, without endless demands for "proof" and constant reinforcement of "it's just a joke, relax."
Why is harassment only a women's problem? Furthermore, if that is your stance it seems like you are supporting the counter-harassment that situations like this always seem to generate when put into the "court of public opinion."
So the trick is to not post in this thread, then? Looking at the other thread it seems like everyone not condemning the guy was given a warning for trolling. This is really poor conduct by the mods.
Yes, people who are defending well-known harassers, questioning the validity of extremely obviously valid harassment claims, brushing off harassment as "just a joke", and blaming the victims in that thread were infracted. That is also going to be true of this thread. If it is your opinion that toxic harassers aren't actually toxic or harassers, or that they're just joking, or that their victims had it coming, I do invite you not to post in this thread (or any other about this topic).
It is my opinion that we (at least those involved in this issue) live in a country that bases its judgement on the philosophy of "innocent until proven guilty." What I have seen of his actions here are not harassment, just being a general ass****. My objection is to the immediate hate mobs that spring up at any accusations.

Guys, and to others of this concern you clearly don't realize the pure level of errata the average card in a legacy format contains, lol. I mean seriously reflect on that for a moment. Commander, is a legacy format... I would say 50 percent of the nonland cards in my deck don't play as they read. Some of my decks its more like 90 percent. Wizards could even do a errata print run product that has a pile of these new generals in a box set if they really want money. Then you'd have the simplified solution to your problem and the fan service. I can't go to a MTG Commander night and not see atleast 2 decks running unofficial commanders (and I'm fine with them as what I generally see are not OP but flavor based choices). Meanwhile you have wizards creating planeswalker commanders who are cool but in no way reflective of the flavor of the format.
There is a big difference between functional errata and templating. The only cards that I can think of that still have functional errata are Lotus Vale/Scorched Ruins/Mox Diamond making their ETB into a replacement effect.
I think the only reasonable rule would be those concerning Budoka Gardener: "if any part of the creature is legendary it may be your commander." Still no Elbrus/Westvale, but the kamigawa flips are okay.

Then there are cards that care about sharing a creature type:
Does anyone know of cards that have tribal synergy that don't fall into those two categories?
Unfortunately, Blood Sun doesn't actually help against Cabal Coffers, Gaea's Cradle, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, etc. Although it does turn off Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
Temur Sabertooth, Enduring Renewal, and Cloudstone Curio can be disgusting with this guy.
Noetic Scales, Erratic Portal, Panharmonicon, and Dust Elemental can be some good value.

Brothers Yamizaki partners?
Weatherlight crew partners? (Gerrard Capashen/Captain Sisay/Hanna, Ship's Navigator/Ertai, Wizard Adept, etc)
Legendary lands as commanders?
Planeswalkers are noncreature legendaries, too.
