Speaking as someone who has a chaos/wall deck (yes really), I will say that most people will have a blast playing against it....for one game. Even I get sick of it after too many games in a row though, so you might want to build another deck too (unless you're okay playing only 2 games a night).
Actually, Wal-Mart gets product befire the realse date and just isn't supposed to shelf it till after. Sometimes employees will stock them early or misprice them because they have no idea what Magic is or nto to stock it until a certain date, so this wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened.
my biggest concern is that everyone is trying to turn wotc into communism, as in "share the wealth", as in "every man should be equal".
america is about capitalism and wotc is an american/capitalist corporation.
if they don't stay true to the loyal customers they had before who acquired power because they knew it will not be reprinted, why should anyone currently trying to get into magic think this is an honest and respectable company?
since we do not live in communism, i dont think every man should be equal.
opportunity is there, if you are unable to due to whatever personal reasons to become successful and purchase power, its your own fault, not wotc's for not reprinting it and making it widely accessible.
gp madrid's attendance is proof that legacy is not a suffering format.
The problem with your argument (besides calling all the people in support of reprint communists as if it proved your point) is that it makes the assumption that a capitalist would look at willing consumers eager to purchase a product (directly make the company money) and then choose an older group of player who may or may not buy new product. It also assumes that the assumed exodus of players would lose the company money in the long term versus the amount of consumers they may pick up. In you example, McDonald's would have never expanded beyond a few restaurants because they could not keep up the quality of their food and thus betray those who were early adopters of the restaurant. From a pure capitalist viewpoint, it's perfectly fine to serve cheaper, inferior food in order to increase the consumer base and piss off the few that would be upset enough to stop eating there.
Also, it brings into this thread political buzzwords that should stay as far away from the subject of Magic as possible. And, in case you're wondering, I do in fact own a bit of legacy staples that I traded and paid dearly for (mostly dual lands) and in fact can't convince my friends to join in precisely because of that cost barrier. I'm more than willing to bite the bullet in order to include player base which I say as I am saving up to buy even more that would crash in value of they ever reversed their decision.
Just some food for thought.
My problem's not with article quality, but rather that there doesn't seem to be a good place to write about casual/multiplayer magic anymore. I just wanted to know if there was a best place considering what's left. But I guess it's blogtime for me then.
Edit- In case you're wondering, Here's the first article that I had published by them followed by the last one. They used to pay $20 per for non-featured writers who were good enough.
I know that this very site has an article submission feature as does pure mtgo, but are there any other sites that accept freelance submissions? I used to do this for Starcity, but they cut off freelancing sometime ago, so I'm looking for a new place to submit to. Thanks for any help.:)
I lost one game the entire night. Thankfully, this snaps my horrible losing streak I previously had. I cut merfolk so hard that I was able to first pick the powerul spells in my color and grab the merfolk on the second pass. DOn't think I'll bever be able to draft this well again though. Finished one match at 57 life after being attacjed down to 12. And mY sidebord was pretty ridiculous too. Looking foward to LLM.
The old "CATFIGHT!" line from Joey Styles actually got me to "Squee!" in the first time since forever.
Also, holy damn is Melina hot. Not one to make such stament usually but...damn. hot.
Must take hot shower now.
EDIT- "Imagine if Jesus knew kung-Fu; that's what they have to deal with." had me laughing. On a side note, Noble really should be drafted to ECW's title scene. He'd be so much better there with people who could actually wrestle.
Wow, for part of that opening, Hunter looked like he was about to felatiate the mic. On a much brighter note, the DX segment is actually entertaining today so yay.
I'm going to be picking this up in memory of Moolah.
Reading the "about this video" section made me want it even more. Oh and to Jeff, it it weren't for Moolah and the female wrestlers, Wrestling would look completely different.
First of all, I'd like to join in on the Santino praisefest. Cutting a promo against himself was incredible. I really hope they do something with him since he is the single most entertaining thing on Raw and possibly in American wrestling period.
As funny as he was though, that's how disgusting the Paul Heyman costume on ECW was. Not the fact that Dreamer was dressed as Heyman, since they did know each other forever and his actual demeanor was as much a tribute as a satire. No, the most disgusting thing was Taz and Styles pretending to not know who Dreamer was dressed as and then making fun of Heyman by proxy? I mean, what the hell was the point if that. What writer was so insecure as to feel the need to rag on Heyman almost a year after his departure? Did Stephanie feel the need to amuse herself after almost killing her star property? What little fun there was in the costume was completely obliterated by the ham-fisted $4!77% comentary. I mean...just...DAMN!
NEVER book ANY single wrestler over your tag team champions.

Also letting said singles wrestler squash your number. one. contenders. for coming to his aid pushes itself beyond stupid into the realm of mental retardation.

Wlll, I'd Also like to vioce my support for the Nitro to Morrison change even if the knock-off music he comes out to now makes me cringe. My one compaint would the be the agent guy they had introducing him. Were they trying to make Morrison look more charismatic by having a guy with the mic ability of Bobby Lashly's morning eyecrust introduce him? Ugh. On another bad note, the jobbed Dreamer again and this time without the ceremony of last week's match with then-Nitro. As much as I like Kevin Thorne, they really need to move him to another brand. Most of the matches were entertaining at least. Except for the squash match but as far as squash matches go...well...ok ,it was till a squash match.
ECW was a solid show despite two big misteps tonight.
The first was that Extreme Expose, continues to inexplicably get TV time humping the air...er...dancing. Since they're already getting airtime with the Miz, they should get less airtime doing...anything else really. Unless the actually want to, you know, wrestle on the wrestling show.
Speaking of Miz, wow, was that match boring. I'm willing to give him a shot, but he REALLY needs to step up his in ring performance as Vicera (that was him right?) throwing boogeyman through the table was a more entertaining in ring performance.
What really impressed me tonight more than anything was that Dreamer and Richards were both jobbed tonight without being totally squashed. Their matches were decent lengths and entetaining to boot, and the video package to reminding newer fans of Dreamer's past was a good touch. The crowd seemed to really be into the main event.
I'm holding off judgement on Boogey/Stryker right now as their segement was neutral in the end, so I'll wait until next week to see if this was a waste of time. Although, Boogey needs a new gimmick/inringstyle ASAP.
Mortarpod is not bff with hirobi. If you want to do this, use something like blasting station instead.
