No, I don't regret it. Usually, if I've taken apart a deck it's because it wasn't fun/didn't work/worked too well for my meta.
In other words, if it's fun and I liked it, I keep it. But yeah, I'm at the point, too, where I'm not having to buy too many individual cards for a deck build. I suppose I had to buy Phyrexian Dreadnought for the Jarad deck I took apart, but it turned into Kresh anyway, so the card stayed. (My original Phyrexian Dreadnought was hanging out in Lazav, who still has him, and I didn't have multiples of a card so niche.)
I attack with the Arcanist, cast the Crimson Wisps from my graveyard, targeting Feather. It gains haste, turns red, and I draw a card. Then the card is exiled.
At the end step, Feather pulls the card back from exile to my hand? Or not?
I live in Japan, so it shouldn't be too hard for me to pick up the Jace and the Lili. They're the only ones I want, and only because I am a completionist in my Jace and Lili collections. I have a copy of every card depicting them. (Though not necessarily multiples of the same depiction re-released. For instance, I've got just the one Liliana of the Veil because there's only one art, despite the judge foil printing. But I have three Liliana, the Last Hopes because there are three different arts of her.)
Other than that, it's not for me. I don't care for Japanese cards.
Jace + Ugin..... wowzas I wonder what kind of price tag they want for that. Also, I know they can't just jam value all day but really on the Sarkan? Could we get a midly playable walker instead???
Wizards said that it will be on sale for $249.99, available starting May 1 at 3pm EST. Same price as the others, way better value than Allegiance.
Will they be available in Asia? In Japan, to be specific. I NEED this!
The point I was trying to make was that demand should be (one of several) compelling reasons to make a change, not how interesting whatever the thing is that is in demand. Whether you or I find planeswalkers interesting ought not be a factor at all.
I disagree. I think that demand works just fine on the local level for house-ruling, but I do not think that "demand" should be factored in to a format-wide change.
It seems papa funk is of the opinion that the benefits of making the change aren't significant enough to justify a change, to overcome the null hypothesis if you will, that the correct choice is always no change unless it can be shown that the change will be positive. Essentially, this promotes stability by basically placing a weight on the no change side. If we were assigning points to arguments, no change would always start off with a certain number of points, and if I'm interpreting papas argument correctly, the pro pw arguments don't earn enough "points" to overcome the points no change always starts with.
I would very much agree with this. I think that the changes made to the format by this would most certainly end up negative, but even if they were "neutral", then the correct course of action would be to leave things as-is, for the sake of format stability.
And as for individual playgroups? House rule away.
We're still pretty firm on our stance about PWs as Commanders and from this poll it looks like we have solid support. For the folks who voted yes, I'm curious. What problem do you see getting solved by making all PWs commanders? Is there a need not getting addressed (other than "We'd like PWs to be commanders")?
For the long term health of the format, making changes needs to have purpose; the bigger the change, the greater the purpose.
The problem of the game being stale.
The problem of not being able to use my iconic characters as generals because they are planeswalkers instead of creatures, despite being substantially weaker than all the existing strong generals.
Maybe for that user, but certainly not for me or my playgroup.
I am very happy with the banned list as it stands, and I certainly do not want to see Planeswalkers as commanders.
I have built and disassembled Cap'n Sisay many times. She's powerful indeed--and she plays so linearly that I couldn't stand her after a bit.
She's strong, yes, and I will definitely hate on her when I sit down across from her, since generally the deck wants her to function. I'd do the same to Zur (which I also retired).
But I couldn't vote because I don't think she's overpowered.
Well, trading my Moat means I don't have one now for my Lyra deck. On the other hand, I got a Judge foil Gaea's Cradle with it, so I can't regret it too much.
But yeah, probably Moat. All the others I really want, I have. (My darling spoils me so much, and for my birthday and Christmas and our anniversary, he always gets me Magic cards. This year, he got me the Masterpiece Teferi and Liliana... <3)

Feather, the Redeemed in play, along with Dreadhorde Arcanist. I have an instant in my graveyard, say Crimson Wisps.

More cool reprints would be nice, but those have been covered in this thread. What I want to see are characters from the lore, with their shiny arts.
Oh, and I would love to see the enemy versions of the Battlebond lands and/or enemy versions of the AKH or BFZ duals.
How are you running Shalai in a Narset deck? Narset has a Jeskai CI, and Shalai contains green in her CI.
