Yeah, my character hasn't come together as quickly as I would have liked. I'll try really hard to have it done this weekend, but I may not be able to do it (I have very little time tomorrow, I should have time Sunday though).

Since I realized I didn't do this before, Knowledge (the planes) to know something about the Infernal:[dice=1]20+32[/dice]
Also, if I modify Orb of Acid using Mastery of Elements, does it's secondary effect remain the same, or does it change into that of the relevant orb? I would think that by the RaW it would stay, but flavorfully it would change, so I figured I'd ask.

Also, disclaimer: the following actions are subject to change based on the actions of the opponents (i.e. if I need to counter a spell).
Lyrillon, using his magic-infused speed, quickly casts a spell, releasing a large ray of seeming-nothingness at the nearest balor. As it gets there, it releases a thunderous boom. Before that spell even arrives at its target, the half-celestial is already casting another, slightly slower spell. What that finishes, four smaller rays that appear very similar to the first fly from his hand at the same balor to much the same effect.
First spell is Polar Ray modified to sound with Mastery of Elements. Second spell is an Empowered, Split Scorching Ray, also modified to sound.
    Attack (ranged touch):[dice=1]20+34[/dice]
    Damage (sonic):[dice=24]6[/dice]
    Attacks (ranged touch):[dice=4]20+34[/dice]
All damage is x1.5 from empower.
    Damage 1:[dice=4]6[/dice]
    Damage 2:[dice=4]6[/dice]
    Damage 3:[dice=4]6[/dice]
    Damage 4:[dice=4]6[/dice]
Natural 20 on the last attack. Are we letting spells have crits (presumable 20/x2)? If yes, here's the confirm:
    Confirm Crit:[dice=1]20+34[/dice]
    Damage (x1.5 from empower):[dice=8]6[/dice]

Hmm, thought that you already took your second round action. The imbued arrow business. No matter.

No, that was the second half of my first round. Arcane Spellsurge (which I cast as a readied action when the bad guys showed up) lets me cast spells faster, so I recast Duelward with a swift action and then imbued the arrow with my standard action.
    Quote from Ain Soph Aur
Well... I believe what's happened so far:
    1. Ti'rin did OVER 9000!!!!!! damage. Actually 900, but I thought someone would find the reference amusing even if I don't know what it means
    2. Amadi summoned some spiders to "hump and pump," I can't really understand his posted actions as such
    3. Halinn split an energy ray into a fractal
    4. Sepiriel helps with the killing of the infernal

So the people left are Yukora and yourself. Caex is not present, and Boros isn't done so I'm treating him as nonexistent for the moment.

Also, oooh, I'm illustrious now. Wink

Ok, thanks, I'll try to post my action up some time today.

I still need to post a 2nd round action. I'd kind of like to know what other people do first though since I'm really low down in the initiative order.

To clarify slightly, in most places on the site that would be considered complete spam.

However, Testing Grounds (which MajoraX conveniently linked to) is a very notable exception, and such a thread would be completely fine there.

    Sweet, thanks! Smile
As Lyrillon finishes replacing his ward, he begins an incantation as he knocks an arrow on his bow. Aiming at the nearest balor, he fires the arrow. As it gets to the creature, a thunderous boom can be heard from far around.
Imbue Arrow imbuing a Empowered Greater Fireburst, heightened to use an 8th level slot (so lvl 6) (for save DC), converted to Sonic with mastery of elements, shooting at the nearest living balor. If the arrow hits the touch AC, it's lots of sonic damage (see below) and DC 31 ref save for half. Also, if there are any non-demons in the area where I'm expecting the spell to go off, I mastery of shaping them out.

Damage (x1.5):[dice=15]10[/dice]Edit: Eww, that damage sucked....
Edit2: since I didn't do this before, to make your life easier, 84 damage if he fails the save. Slant

Attack (I assume I'm outside 30 ft, if not, +1):[dice=1]20+42[/dice]
Since I know OOC balors are immune to fire and electricity and have res 10 to cold/acid, I won't bother rolling those since it's 1d6 each, so instead, regular damage only (+1 if inside 30 ft):[dice=1]8+13[/dice]

Wow, you actually ruled in my favor there? It flavorfully made sense, but I didn't think I was actually going to get it. :p

Also, I just realized I have another question: Greater Fireburst hits everything within 15 feat of you for lots of damage. If I use Imbue Arrow, does that mean everything within 15 feat of the arrow when it hits something, or everything within 15 feat of the creature it hits? Specifically, if I shoot at one of the balors, will that balor take damage from the spell? If it matters, I do have mastery of shaping, so maybe I could refill that hole?

If not, are any of the living creatures within 15 feet of each other?

Spellcraft to recognize the spells the balors are casting:[dice=2]20+52[/dice]
Assuming I recognize both of them (and that the first one is headed for Amarra), these are my actions. Otherwise they may change slightly.

Also, knowledge (the planes) to know as much as I can about balors and how to kill them:[dice=1]20+32[/dice]

@ASA: I think Fire Storm is an area spell, so Yukora's miss chance shouldn't apply anyway.

@Yukora: Sorry, but Lyrillon doesn't trust Amarra enough yet to counter a death spell pointed at your head. Especially since he figures you'll probably survive if you were telling the truth before about who you are and why you're here.
As the third balor begins casting his spell, a slight grin comes across Lyrillon's face as he quickly moves to undo the magic. Modifying a Polar Ray, he undoes the fiery evocation, thereby expending the duelward he just cast.

After Harahel lets his orb fly, the half-celestial replenishes his Duelward, speeding the magic with the spell he cast as the demons arrive. As soon as he finishes that, he wastes no time casting a slightly slower (and much modified) spell.
I haven't decide which spell to cast, largely because it depends on the answer to the following question. If I use Imbue Arrow and care about it hitting something/a specific creature physically even if it doesn't do any damage (so, for example, it hits their armor or shield, bounces off natural armor, etc), can I make a regular attack roll with my bow and then have the spell work if it hits their touch AC and the arrow do damage if it hits their regular AC?

I'm not sure about the timing of this, but assuming it works, I use my readied action to cast Arcane Spellsurge and prepare to go nova. Also, I remove the bow from my back because I'm going to be using that.

I also use an immediate action to cast nerveskitter and get +5 to my initiative.

    Initiative:[dice=1]20+17[/dice]
Edit: You have to be kidding me. Slant
As the portal opens, Lyrillon immediately casts the spell he was readying. His eyes glow green and spark slightly as his body infuses with arcane energy. He also speaks another quick spell, and responds somewhat more quickly to the creatures than would be expected.

"Harahel, you don't think I know that demons are the first priority?" Lyrillon asks, half in jest (or as close as one could be given the situation). "I am simply telling our new friend here that I will treat him as one of the demons unless he does as much as the rest of us to get rid of them."

As they talk (assuming there is time before the demons appear), the elf casts another spell, continuing to ready himself.
This time I'm casting Duelward. Next round I go back to readying an action incase anything shows up. Right now I'm sticking with the low-level (and hence low-cost) spells incase he's lying and nothing appears. :p

Sir! I display a general garment and you act as though it were custom-tailored to your frame. Yes, I was frustrated with you for not noticing the item. But I was more frustrated with Halinn for continuing the vein of conversation after we had determined that an edit needed to be made. And until I can see that a player who I have previously seen metagame (and use metagame logic) is not metagaming, I will make the assumption that the player will metagame in the future. Sepiriel and I have had discussions regarding a situation where he has admitted he wouldn't have acted as he did had he known how I would react in turn. That's metagaming.
    (emphasis mine)

So, given your track record of yelling at anyone and everyone who you perceive to be metagaming (which you readily admit to doing), you're basically saying that once you see someone metagame once (even accidentally), you will never give them the benefit of the doubt in the future and will therefore start yelling at them for things that very well may be just fine. That, good sir, is extremely nasty of you.

If you want to act that way, there's nothing I can do to stop you. However, I think it would be better for everyone if you were a little more understanding of your fellow players. Otherwise you will likely find one of us is not in the game for very much longer.
Lyrillon's head snaps toward the halfling at the mention of abyssal hoards. "You're bringing hoards of abyssal creatures on us?! You better get rid of them just as fast," he says, readying himself for a somewhat different fight.

The half celestial effortlessly casts a spell that brings an invisible shield in front of him and readies himself to respond appropriately to anything that may appear.
Ready an action to cast a spell if something shows up. Likely Arcane Spellsurge if there are actually piles of creatures around.

Also, everyone who bothers looking at me, roll will saves, DC 37 or be dazzled for 1d6 rounds. I cannot even turn that off, but I suppose you all will autopass it on everything but 1's.

You seem to be under the delusion that all of us are as stupid and munchkined as you. I'd like to point out that regular (non-cheating) characters don't have saves through the roof. Mad

As a general idea, you shouldn't be able to beat your own saves without trying. Otherwise everything else will too.
Lyrillon reads the note somewhat skeptically and sighs. "Very well, I'll believe it for now. But don't think for a moment," he adds, "that I actually trust you."

The half-celestial, having finished reading, hands the note to the Astral Deva. "It looks reasonable enough to me."

Lyrillon snaps the note from the drow's hand. Unrolling the paper, he reads it quickly.
I kind of need to know what it says before I do anything else.

"Well," says the half-celestial as he floats backward a few feat, "you could start by dropping the charade. We do not have time to deal with that kind of thing right now. I'm sure you understand why, at least if you are telling the truth."

Lyrillon's gaze softens for a moment and he looks at Amarra. In a much calmer and more civil tone of voice than he had before, the high elf continues. "I will not believe that the curator would have been silly enough to send us aid in the form of two drow without giving them some way to prove their story. She is much too smart for that. So, I ask again, can you prove that she was the one who sent you?"

"Maybe I would be a little less suspicious if your friend here didn't appear to be preparing to fight something," Lyrillon says.

As the drow comes closer Lyrillon becomes slightly uneasy. As she approaches him he becomes more tense and more ready to defend himself or attack an enemy at will. "Well, if you were truly sent by the curator then I am willing to put aside our difference for now," he says, though he does not sound too happy about the prospect. "However, before we can do that, I will need some assurance that you are not lying," he adds, eyes narrowing skeptically.
