I think it is a bit easier to set up a situation where either side of this guy is good on turn 3/4. A 4/3 is still pretty sizable on those turns (not the biggest on the board, but respectable), and, if you have had any pressure, they will not want to take 4 either. On turns 3 or 4, this is better than anything in standard.
I don't even think it is that good on turn 1, though. They will probably just take 4, which is nice, but they can work around that. Later on, you can sculpt a position where they reallly don't want either half of the card.
Since you only need ten poison counters to kill them, Giant Growthing a creature effectively buys you six "damage" because each damage with a poison counter is twice as good as a normal damage, assuming you plan on killing exclusively through poison.
Even if it puts a 1/1 into play it will be ridiculous. Protection from Jace and it makes tokens to wear the equipment. Unsummon would be very good on it as well.
I think the blue ability will tap a permanent and have it not untap during it's controllers next untap step. The green one might make 1/1's, or even rampant growth.
Reprinting Sinkhole now would be like if they had taken Shock out of the coreset and replaced it with a spell that read "R - Instant - Deal 1 dmg to target creature or player" and then put Lightning Bolt in an expansion.
You can also deck them by making them draw too many cards. Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, and Bad Jace still will kill them.
Even though this costs a million, getting to actually cast it is pretty savage. It'll probably find a home in Hypergenesis in some number, as they sometimes hardcast their fatties and even if you cheat him making them sac 4 permanents is pretty sweet.
The only glimmer of hope this card has is that "10" appears only once in the orb and that the theme is confirmed in this set. Otherwise, there is no scan, reliable source, or even continuity with the old sets. I say fake.
Then if you Brainstorm once, seeing three cards. You put two cards back. If you want to get rid of a card you can put the card you don't like on the bottom, then Scry it down the next turn. Only Brainstorming will never filter bad cards away.
Yea repeatable bouncing of creatures is so crappy its not even worth mentioning. All he does is draw cards.
So you play "UU2, Sorcery, Unsummon" and then hope Jace doesn't get attacked back? What decks are you playing against? Every Planeswalker with protection is amazing, this is nothing new.
This is likely just another Planeswalker that doesn't affect the board enough. This card is flat out bad against aggro, like the other Jace. Yes, it does dominate control mirrors. Yes, if you protect it, it has higher upside than the other Jace. But just like the other Jace it just draws you cards.
