I've been running 23 lands 4 colonnades, it's fine that way. I'm still looking for a good singleton finisher card in the flash lists though; Thundermaw Hellkite has been powerful but has to be boarded out a lot, I've also tried Gearhulk but I am not impressed. I'm trying out Ajani Vengeant now, but I might just make one more room and run 2 Search for Azcanta

Rattlechains is a neat addition but having only Queller as a target is kind of a shame. Just a 2/1 flyer is not really impressive if you don't get the 2 for 1 protection

I've been playing an Archangel Avacyn and have been liking it. It plays well with Quellers and Geists and has flash.

I'm relatively knew to UWR midrange, what are the good matchups, and what are the bad ones?

The aggro decks are your good matchups, midrange decks are fair and very skill intensive, and big mana decks are the struggle.

Uhhhh, question guys, why on earth is this a tier 3 deck, the geist decks that Great Nate has been playing is the tier 1 decks that's been doing well in the tournaments and on mtgo. Meanwhile, the tier 2 jeskai thread is playing all sorts of jeskai decks

    Seriously, what gives?

I don't think we can call the deck Tier 1 at the moment (don't think it has a big enough meta share), but we should at least be bumped to 2.

can u post your full decklist?

This is what I am currently playing. Sideboarding changes continously, especially I am still in doubt between Cerimonious Rejection or Disdainful stroke!

    DeckMagic OnlineOCTGN2ApprenticeBuy These Cards
    23 lands (3 colonnades only)

    4 snapcaster mage
    4 spell queller
    3 geist of saint traft

    4 opt
    3 serum vision
    4 lightning bolt
    4 path to exile
    3 lightning helix
3 logic knot (till now worked list counterspell almost 100% of times!)
3 cryptic command (in my opinion it is not playble the deck without this card)
2 spell snare (still not so sure about it, but i preferred to electrolyze)

What do you find difficult about the Eldrazi Tron match-up? It is our toughest match-up, but I'm wondering if there is anything specific that is giving your trouble.

I have an identical 60 atm. My current SB is slightly different.

Against Eldrazi Tron this is my game plan

    OUT
x2 lightning bolt, x3 lightning helix, x2 spell snare

    IN
    x2 disdainful stroke, x1 vendillian clqiue, x2 supreme verdict, x1 engineered explosives, x1 wear/tear

I bring in artifact hate for challice. Every game that I've beat Eldrazi Tron has consisted of me casting multiple paths.
(I've lost every single game where chalice came down on one before I could counter).

If you are not as afraid of chalice you could bring in pia for extra bodies (one pia will trade with a TKS)

I'm a fan of keeping in at least one Snare, if not both in this matchup. It hits Chalice on one while on the draw which is incredibly good.

I saw Nassif stream Harlan's list, plus some iterations of it, but I never saw him slide in Opt (around the beginning of last week, for those wanting to look through his logs). Do you know when he tried Opt?
a friend of mine just shared to me the link should be on channel fireball. He was on 24 lands playing sulfur over spirebliff. The split was 3 opt and 2 serums with 1 less helix. He also replaced 1 geist for 1 gideon of the trials but did not impress him so much. Maybe the third geist is just better.

He mentioned it in the video essentially saying "Geist is good in your bad matchups and ok in your good matchups" which is my feeling exactly. I've seen some lists playing Gideon in the sideboard, which seems fine, but I don't think it's worth cutting a Geist from the main.

I talked to Harlan about the deck about this weekend. I told him I was running 2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar in the board and he said he tested them and decided that he liked Pia and Kiran more since it was a harder to answer threat.

I still think (based on his original entrance to the game) Vaimes has a good chance of being scum (but then again what do I know I'm still not sure how to properly evaluate statements).

Also, I'll be at SCG Louisville this weekend, I'll try to keep up

Hello Eldrazi friends. I just popped in to ask advice on how to try to improve this matchup. I'm going to SCG Louisville this weekend and want to be adequately prepared. I'll be playing basically Jon Rosum's Jeskai Queller mainboard (for those unfamiliar) with some sideboard changes as needed. I feel like the plan of Rejection + Verdict + Disdainful Stroke has failed me enough in the past that I'd like to try something different.

How do you guys, as Eldrazi Tron players, feel about the matchup? Is it bad enough for me that you think it's worth me even trying to board differently for it? I've made considerations for even playing Blood Moon or Magus of the Moat to try to handle the matchup (the later of which is definitely bad, but it was just a thought).

Should be a pretty good matchup for you. I've not done that well against Jeskai. You seem to have all the tools to beat us.

Blood Moon can be good and will win you some games, no doubt, but it's not a silver bullet and doesn't seem like a good fit with three colors.

Elspeth is powerful but seems kinda slow. Nahiri can be pretty hard to deal with, but she may not fit your plan.

    Electrolyze doesn't really scare me.

Other than that, I'd try really hard to counter Reality Smashers...

I was actually planning on dropping the Elspeth for the weekend and playing 2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar since it provides blockers, but also let's me turn the corner faster than Elspeth. I guess I just feel like you can negate all of my answers so easily. Chalice is big game against me, and Cavern completely takes the counters out of the equation.

I think rosums list was tuned specifically to have a better time against us, the matchup is very close possibly swinging 52/48 in your favour. It of course will depend what list the eldrazi tron player but I don't think you will go far wrong with the list you have

I honestly don't think I've felt like the matchup is even minoring favored from my side of it. The only matches I've been able to get off of opponents have been when they've stumbled, but that's always come at their own hand and had little to do with my gameplan. Maybe I'm misevaluating the matchup though. Or I could be boarding incorrectly.

Again I reiterate, I have no clue where to be drawing conclusions from to make informative posts. I don't blame you guys, but I don't think this particular game worked out well for teaching beginners.

I think BGx decks might benefit more just because LotV + Lili, the Last Hope seems quite good, but yes, we benefit very heavily

Oh, also, since Osie mentioned me, I'd be a lot more active if I knew what I was doing. Like all of these posts just look like walls of text at this point. It's all just words and accusations that I'm not quite sure how to substantiate. I'm pretty much like this guy at this point.

I swear, I look away for what seems to be a short period and I come back to more reading than I've done in all of college.

As someone considering moving that direction, I'd definitely be interested. I especially need someone to sell me on the Spell Quellers. They've always seemed so fragile and seem to "turn on" an opponent's otherwise impotent removal.

I'll address this fully when I do my writeup tonight, but I felt just like you for a long time. I basically always played them in a 4 Geist, 2ish Queller list, and I think that was actually incorrect. They were far better than I anticipated.

I played almost Rossum's exact 75 (had to guess a few cards, I was off by 3) at a PPTQ on Sunday and made it to the finals. I'll gladly share my report here if anyone's interested.
