Details are available for the event, which features 5 evenings of pauper play - you can watch the main channel for commentary, or any individual streamer you'd prefer to watch.
I'll post here again once the decklists are locked in!
Tomorrow night starting at 8 PM Eastern join us for the Final Four of the event. Live commentary will be provided by Chris VanMeter and BrewSpytheMagicGuy. Hope to see you there!
Starting this Friday, we are launching a MTGO finance competition. There is 5 competitors who each receive 500 Event Tix and they have 5 months to invest/speculate. The competitor with the most tix at the end of the competition will be the winner.
There will also be periodic articles from the competitors discussing their positions and decisions throughout. We'll also be updating the standings weekly based on price movements throughout the week.
So incredibly stoked for this event, so far i know there are 2 storm, 1 U/W control and dredge looking forward to see all the budget options that are revealed.
I made a bit of a mistake on that front - I published the lists as I got them, before everyone had submitted. I removed the lists we had up, and told the people that had submitting they are free to change decks/cards and get back to me - so, there may be a few adjustments. We will put all the decklists up on Monday (deadline for submission is Sunday) and then they will be locked in for the duration of the event.
Starting next Wednesday (March 16th) at 4 PM EST, we will be holding a 20-streamer event on Twitch with Budget Modern at the forefront. The format will be Modern (with Eye of Ugin also banned), and the restriction for decklists will be that the total cost when submitted must be 100 Event Tickets or less. Participants will use the same decks for the entire event, which lasts 4 total weeks (3 weeks of round-robin play, and 1 week of top 4 playoffs).
The event will take place on each individual streamer's page - with each group of 10 streamers streaming simultaneously. More information, and the decklists chosen (which will be up next Monday, March 14th) is available on our site.
I'd have to ask oRS on that one. Maybe just something he was thinking about? I've not played pauper myself (though we support it via a few PREs), so that isn't something I would question while editing :).
We just published a MTGO Pauper Primer by oRS today. If you're thinking about trying pauper, check it out! Any feedback / constructed criticism is always welcomed!
If you haven't played much Modern but are looking to play the MTGO PT Gauntlet this week, this primer is a great reference guide to know how to play your deck at a high level. It was written by Jeff Hoogland, who has a lot of Modern experience!
We published a new guide to Budget MTGO. Would welcome any comments, suggestions or questions, as this is a very important subject to many who play MTGO and many who might consider playing later.
I'll post here again once the decklists are locked in!
