It's been about a month since FS launched, how have things been going for everyone? I'm getting cards, but only small, recently printed stuff. Mostly full art basics and bulk rare specs. The last 1,000+ PP card I got was in March.
I've received one trade (<500pts) in this time. I've only recently been able to send since very recently now that the card importer is fixed. I suspect I'm not the only user who was dealing with this problem.
Sinister Concoction Strikes me as a strange inclusion. I understand that discarding creature cards is no big deal, since you'll often just be getting them back with Alesha anyway. But I can also imagine scenarios in which you're really just two-for-oneing yourself.
I am trying to move a .csv I exported from MTGGoldfish over to Pucatrade. I have spent hours shifting fields, changing titles, etc... and I cannot get it to convert correctly, it literally says my formatting is bad. Sometimes it will import the cards but in the wrong sets or they'll be listed as promos etc...I also can't find a thread or good help via a standard google search or here. If anyone has any input or a link to this info I would be very grateful. Also, reading this thread makes me a bit hesitant to send out any more cards, I just started Pucatrade and I sent out about $50usd in cards, hopefully it works out.
I asked admin@pucatrade about why my haves list kept getting incorrectly imported. Here was their response:
... We're aware the importer isn't working as smoothly as we'd like. It's one of our top four priorities right now. As improvements go live for the importer, we'll update the community.
In the meantime I'd try copying the text from the columns into the text importer. It's not currently supporting foil or language. The categories you'll need are quantity / name / set. ...
I haven't had time to fool around with it yet, and to be honest, I don't think I will bother adding my haves line by line. Hope this helps
Did the guidelines for .csv layout change since the migration to Future Site? Since the migration, whenever I try to import my haves list, there are what feel like innumerable errors: item in wrong language, wrong edition, promo duplicates of items, etc. I am essentially unable to trade until this gets fixed / I figure out the new .csv guidelines. It's driving me mad: Here's an example of what I've been using:
What infinite colored mana combos are there in this color pair (G/B)? The only one I'm familiar with is Nether Traitor + Golgari Germination + Phyrexian Altar. I did a little searching, but to no avail. I figured someone on here might have an idea
Solid criticisms, but we shouldn't forget that when it connects it can put creatures in your graveyard. If you are on the full-blown reanimator plan, I could see this being valuable. Similarly, if you have Meren in play, it can give you more options for reanimation post-combat.
@gromgrom I can appreciate your frustration. At the same time, these kinds of suggestions are great opportunities to provide some clarity about MtG heuristics and best practices that newer players might not intuitively grasp.
Looking at Mortal Combat, for example: like all "achieve X condition, win the game" spells, Mortal Combat is a powerful effect. If you play in a very casual environment or are new to EDH/MtG, it might seem curious that no one runs it (since we run so many creatures and want cards in our graveyard). To be fair, Coalition Victory is a similar card (though the conditions you have to meet are much easier than Mortal Combat), and yet it is actually banned in the format because the condition is so easy to achieve.
Anyway, I don't want to veer too off topic. Obviously it's better when people read the OP, but I still think there is value in discussions around cards that don't fit.
- It's hard to get 20 creature cards in your graveyard. We don't play a lot of self-mill, and even when you have a high creature count (~40), you have to mill around 50 cards in order to get enough creatures in the graveyard. I don't think that a 20-creature graveyard is something that can happen naturally, and I'm not sure it's worth adding cards to help us get there.
- Graveyard hate ruins this strategy, and from my experience, it's nearly always aimed at us anyway. If our graveyard is exiled even one time, then Mortal Combat becomes a do-nothing card. I'm not sure it's worth the inclusion.
- Finally, Mortal Combat does nothing by itself, which makes it a tough inclusion to begin with. Unless you are trying very hard to make the combo work, Mortal Combat does nothing except sit around waiting. If I'm going to cast a 4-mana sorcery-speed spell, then I want it to do something.

How has it performed for you so far?

@Incanur: I don't quite understand that last combo. How do you get Eternal Witness back?

Just my 2 cents. Maybe others see it differently.
