Nice changes to the board. I love the Caryatid. I think it's an underrated card. It survives almost anything aggro can through at it. I like the Imp, but I think the Caryatid is better against almost anything that Imp could stop, except flyers. How much of a problem does an Unstable Mutation-ed Flying Men give to this deck. I haven't encountered one yet, so I don't know.

I got my 4th Scarab this weekend. Yea, me!

    1st post deck edited.

    -1 Thelonite Hermit
    -1 Golgari Germination
    +2 Grave-Shell Scarab
(good beater, can be re-used for sacrifice purposes)

This deck is great! I love playing it.

I only own three Scarabs. I'm not sure I need them maindeck. If I was to put two main, leave the third in the board, what would you use the remaining board slot for? The fourth germination?

I really like UB aggro-control. However, I cannot afford Psionic Blast. I'm opening two boxes of cards tonight, and unless the gods really smile on me, I'm sure I still won't have a playset.

If you were going to run this deck and didn't have Psionic Blast, what would you run in its place? My idea was to up the Finkel and Cancel counts to 4.

My underrated list is Desert, Tribal Flames, and Pardic Dragon, for their various reasons. They all fill large holes in the format and it will be interesting to see what happens with them.

Seconded on the Desert and the Flames. Not sure about the Dragon. I think Draining Whelk has some potential to be a good finisher.

The Flagstones are further helping to make Wildfire less viable.

    Construct?

Well, maybe. Contructs so far have been artifacts, though.

In test Kher Keep is insane with Lyzolda and Wheel of Fate turned out to be just plain insane and I never lost a game when it got suspended turn 2.
But I agree that The aggro deck is probably the better choice.

I didn't notice Lyzolda's interaction with the Keep. That does sound good.

Great list, Davidesle. Here are my comments.

First, typing the Hyparion, Tarpan, etc. as Horses is a great move. I concur. Also, Gaea's Avenger is certainly an Avatar, and Niall Silvain probably is, too (He really should be Legendary Creature--Avatar, but whatever). I would love to see Infernal Medusa become a Gorgon, so I would be that much closer to making a gorgon deck.

Hags should stay. They are an interesting type of creature from folklore and they could use some more support.

Barishi: I'm fond of this creature for no logical reason. I'd be unhappy if it became anything else.
    Constable: Should be a Soldier
Effigy: This really fits no where. It could remain an Effigy.
Fallen: not a zombie. I think from the name, it should be a Demon, Devil, or Spirit. Or stay Fallen even.
Lurker: I'd make it a Yeti.
Lycanthrope: These have been handled very inconsistently in the game. I'd keep the creature type and make all of the were-creatures lycanthropes.
Marid: In folklore, a marid is a spirit related to the Djinn and Efreet. So, either you make it one of those or you keep it as a Marid. Actually, I think Marids, Djinn, and Efreet could be consolidated as Djinn and let the names tell us which they are.
Mummy: Make more mummies and keep them as distinct.
    Pyknite: This is a Faerie.

I can't believe there are only 18 Spiders. I would've guesed many more.

    Thanks for making this list.

I concur with the Persecute plan. Great sideboard card. This deck can't really abuse dredge in any meaningful way and dredging away a Husk would just suck.

I agree with what SumPhatGuy said. Also, I don't like Kher Keep in aggro. I'd run basics or a few Deserts in its place. You could try Rix Maadi, too.

I think your second deck is better, but it needs work.

Don't run Wheel of Fate and Jaya in the same deck. I'd run Jaya and Magus of the Scroll or another efficient creature.

I don't like Kher Keep in an aggro deck. Replace with a basic land or maybe a couple Deserts to ward off Soltari Priest.

Try to find room for Sudden Death and/or Sudden Shock. Consider moving the Hyppies to main.

I was drafting on Saturday. I opened an unimpressive pack with a timeshifted Feldon's Cane. I don't remember the rare at all. What I most remember is being passed--1st pack, 2nd pick--a Stuffy Doll! I also got a foil Soltari Priest passed to me.

Second pack, I opened a Sprite Noble and the timeshifted card was Hunting Moa. I was in UW, so I didn't take the moa.

One pack that was passed to me--and it was probably the third or fourth pick--had seven black cards in it! Talk about color imbalance. It had Living End and Phthisis. Some black player further down the draft must've gone crazy.

Some notable cards I saw in the draft were Dragonstorm, Restore Balance, Shadow Guildmage, Withered Wretch, Flagstones of Trokair, and foil Mishra.

    Opening two boxes on Friday!

Thug isn't dead often at all. Recurring Autocrats, Hermits and more importantly Husks is a nice ability to have.

Agreed. It would just suck to have someone burn the Thug with no creatures in the yard, but I gues you just don't play him until something juicy is in there.

I was thinking about replacing the Fallen Ideal with either another creature or more removal. Thoughts?

Speaking of class types, I was very disappointed in Wizards for how they handled Ravnica. The whole idea of it was that unlike every other plain we've ever seen, Ravnica was much more civilized/domesticated/whatever. And yet we still had a glut of Beasts, Warriors, Berzerkers, Gaints, Horrors, and Leviathans. Leviathans! Where, in a plane in which every single square inch of space is covered in buildings, where every river is damned and every lake is used to farm seaweed, are not one - not two - but *three* Leviathans going to live?

As much as I love Rav block, I have some of the same issues. Some of the creatures didn't make much sense, in particular the Leviathans. I'm willing to buy Simic Sky Swallower, since that's a genetically engineered project, but Grozoth makes little sense. I was disappointed that the Gruul had so many beasts and that one of its guildleaders is a hydra. The Gruul are rebel anarchists, so please tell me how so many unintelligent creatures can be in the guild? I accept that some of the creatures are just beasts of burden and stuff, but there's still too many of them. This guild should've mostly been composed of viashino, goblins, centaurs, giants, minotaurs, ogres, some elves, and dryads (cuz they have to be super-pissed). Instead we got insects, wurms, beasts, and hydra. I would've liked Giant Solifuge much more if it was a Viashino Berserker.

Where are all the shopkeepers, farmers, entertainers? The normal people trying to make a living? This is where I really think Townsfolk could have shone, especially for the unguilded masses.

And here is where we differ on Rav. If you accept that in the game you are summoning creatures to fight and do your bidding, why exactly would you call up a moneychanger, a tax collector, a baker, or a cobbler? I always assumed all the unguilded regular folks were in Ravnica and that I just wouldn't bother summoning them. I mean if one mana gets you a Scorched Rusalka, how many jugglers should that mana get you?

Good build, as I've said before. A couple of questions:

How often is the Thug a dead card?
Which matches are the Stinkweeds boarded in for?

The deck functions around slapping a Fists of Ironwood onto the Husk, sacking creature tokens and other creatures to pump him up for lethal damage. The Hermit and Autocrat both provide themselves + additional token creatures and the Hermit doubles as an alternate win con by giving all Saprolings +1/+1. Thanks for reading, and for any responses.

I really like this. It looks solid. What about Tormod's Crypt or Withered Wretch in the sideboard? They can help with Solar Flare and any other deck that uses the graveyard.

How does Gravepact work for you? Can you get it out consistently?

Should the Hermit be a 4-of?

Thanks for the interesting deck. I may play this.
