I'd also take the Greenseeker in that pick. It can also help find the second Island for the snake, although it looks like you are far more in blue than in green. There was nothing amazing in that pack, and I just like the seeker better than the sage.

What I'd like to do is help with control match up and any storm decks I might encounter. The problem is that I don't know the meta for this tournament at all. Orim's Chant can be played before a Tendrils or something similar to stop the combo, much like Rule of Law does. I'm including Sacred Ground in the board because Tron is so vulnerable to land destruction. I'm not sure it's correct. The angel is a fantastic creature, but I'm not sure if it's needed or just a win-more card.

The tournaments at this store generally draw 3-4 players that are very aware of the best decks in the given format and play them and the rest of the players play various rogue decks--some janky and some good. There tends to be a few combo players, but what combos I'll see is uknown.

Since you already picked Mystic Snake, how could you pass Dream Stalker? That's a great combo to have. Also, by having both cards this early, you could look for later opportunities for synergy. I really think--given your earlier picks--that Dream Stalker was the correct 6th pick (not pack, as you have, BTW).

Concerning the whole U/B versus U/G fairy discussion: There may be fairies of both combinations, representing respectively the Unseelie and Seelie courts.

If Magic divides faeries into the Seelie and Unseelie Courts and does it well, I will be so happy! That would be a masterwork of flavor incorporation. I hope that you are right.

The tournament approaches. So far, I'm pretty comfortable with this deck. I'm wondering about adding Exalted Angel to the sideboard to help in the control match up. Also, is Orim's Chant a good idea?

Torn between the Warrens and the Serpent, I picked the Warrens. With the suspends we have, it seems like we could play the Warrens with 2-3 storm copies. I'm not sure it was the right pick and the Serpant is definitely good for this deck.

I thought about the Healer to stay in color, but it's a weaker card than the other two, I think.

Overall, not that great of a pack.

Not the decks I draft. Evasive creature are a plus, but cards like Whitemane Lion and Tolarian Sentinel help control the board. Morphs like Parasite and Aquamorph often play defense, getting 2 for 1's when they can.

I draft controlling UW way more often than turbo-evasive Infiltrator, 3/3 flyer, Knight of Sursi, Ivory Giant rush.

That may be what you like to draft, but it's looking like the turbo-evasive rush is what the cards are giving us.

Aquitect's Will sounds an awful lot like a counterspell to me! This is great stuff. I like the obviously noncreature names in here (Crush Underfoot, Aquitect's Will, Summon the School, etc.). I would guess these are tribal cards.

    Thanks for posting!

    Edit:

A couple of reactions. First off, I'm curious about the eighth tribe . . . Giants, Fey, Merfolk, Kithkin, Goblins, Elves, Elementals(?), Zombies (presumably). Honestly, I'm not even sure about Zombies; or if the elementals will be considered a tribe (Just because it's a race doesn't mean it has to be a tribe).

We've seen no evidence of zombies so far, and you forgot Treefolk. Elementals are certainly a tribe; they've got their own precon.

Excellent! A second giant to go with our already strong white cards. Clearly, white is open. The gorgon would be nice and dream stalker is fine, but the giant is great for our current pool.

I voted for Grapeshot, but Snapback is not a bad pick. I can't believe someone voted for Sindbad.

Why would we need humans in this set at all? I think all the roles can be filled with the tribes that have already been revealed (plus some filler creatures that are less tribal in nature: Wolves, Beasts, Insects, Illusions, etc.). I actually do hope there are no humans. It would definitely help Lorwyn stand out from all other blocks. The faerie tale/high fantasy setting allows WOTC to do this.

    My guesses:

G/R - Ape (I know, it's kinda silly but it would definitely be in-color and draw a lot of people in for an expansion)
B/W - Leonin (Definitely far-fetched, but there needs to be a race that bridges light and darkness)
U/R - Goblins (techincally this makes goblins a triple, but I could see it happening. People like the idea of a blue goblin :))
U/G - Vedalken (maybe? I dunno, this one is tough)

    Discuss...

I disagree with all of these because they do not fit the faerie tale/Celtic flavor of Lorwyn--except goblins, which we already know are boggarts. I'm not positive these pairs will get filled in, but if they do, it will be by tribes that actually fit the flavor of the set.

I could see Fairies getting expanded to U/G. The others I'm not so sure. Maybe goblins will dip into G, which has happened in the past.

MesoAmerican would be completely rad. I also like the idea of a prehistoric set. I've been working on an Ancient Egyptian set on and off for a year. I'd also like a purely Arthurian set.
