Thank you for the compliments. I secretly updated the list to include Mirri, but I've been dragging my feet on my set reviews. I wanted Commander 2017 before Ixalan, but haven't had the chance yet. I'll get there though.
The Abyss only cares about creatures, which isn't something we care about, and it's easy to get around. It doesn't have an immediate impact on the board and 3B is a lot for that effect.
Sydri, Galvanic Genius/Aetherflux Reservoir isn't that intriguing to me. We'd have to add a bunch of cheap spells to dig for the pieces, they're not that good separate from one another. The life gain is not the focus of the deck and would need to be built around. It's also 10 mana.
I haven't. My Magic time in general has been so severely cut within the last 2 months I barely have even looked at anything Commander 2017 related (some of the mythics). What have others been playing with? Any good Stax pieces?
Mirri and Commander 2017 set review are a work in progress, but I am trying to push them out before Ixalan
I agree. She fits right into the plan of turning weak things sideways and pillowforting. She wears equipment well also. I dig it.
I had brainstormed one back a couple of years but never anything concrete. With the printing of Breya, Etherium Shaper it doesn't seem likely I'll ever pull the trigger. I like the enchantment theme but it is color intensive, and Breya makes it more of a combo deck with actual win conditions rather than attrition. Dies to doom blade has a good Breya list, that's similar to the way I would have taken it.
I don't think you should run equipment if you're not running Stoneforge and the good swords. In my opinion that is the only way to do it correctly, and Stoneforge ability bypasses the taxation and Eidolon of Rhetoric.
Beast Within hits lands and Planeswalkers, it is worth running above almost any other type of removal because of that flexibility.
Also, the main deck is going through some slight revision with Hour of Devastation. I launched a new deck and finished most of the new graphics for the primer. I hope to finish the write-up sometime this summer, Thanks for all the help everyone and look forward to the new ideas people come up with
Solemnity
Dark Depths
Elephant Grass
Ramunap Excavator
All become compelling options.Phyrexian Unlife will not kill us anymore either.
