So nobody is in life gain/allies or someone is getting a huge gift with March. Nothing we are truly excited about here. I guess Retreat to Kazandu? We don't have much evasion, so retreat to Valauskas isn't very appealing to me. I don't think these are so bad that we should hate draft the March.
We have solid enough top-end creatures that I think Murasa Ranger is unneeded in our deck. Incubator Drone would help us ramp, and it couldn't hurt have another devoid guy to trigger both Nettle Drones. But Incubator is not exciting at all, and Fertile Thicket helps us fix our colors if we need it, or to get more lands if we draw it late. Happy to have one of those, though very sad to take it 3rd pick.
Blighted Cataract is also decent, though jamming a colorless land into a 3-color deck seems unwise.
It's nice to see all the remaining cards are in our expected colors, even if none of these options is especially exciting with what we have so far. I think it's between Swell of Growth and Tajuru Beastmaster. We don't have much landfall, so Swell isn't at the top of its game. Beastmaster doesn't have any tokens to pump, or very many allies to re-trigger the ability, but I think the Tajuru Beastmaster is more likely to fit into a slower 3-color ramp deck than the Swell.
I'm inclined to go with Snapping Gnarlid here. With the cards we've just picked up, I now actively want to be in green for maximum ramp opportunities, and Gnarlid is a solid creature that falls outside our oversaturated 3-drop. We can possibly pick up a Boiling Earth later as well. I could be underrating it, and I could be persuaded otherwise.
Sometimes it feels like there isn't much to say. Archive is great in ramp decks, which we now seem to be falling into without much effort. Grove Rumbler is a beating, but I've been very impressed with archive.
Haha, we wish for a Breaker, and it comes right to us. Happy to grab this, but feeling a bit sketchy about what is coming our way right now. No good red or blue cards in this pack. Some decent green stuff, and black seems the most open. Though it's only pick 3, so it could just be a pack that's weighted toward black.
Our blue so far is pretty minimal:
Benthic Infiltrator, Kiora, Master of the Depths, Coralhelm Guide, Anticipate
Infiltrator is great, but Guide and Anticipate are the types of cards I'll play if I'm in blue, but they aren't any kind of draw to the color. That means the only blue card we got last pack that is actually exciting was the infiltrator, pick 3. It doesn't seem guaranteed that we are playing blue, and I don't think Expulsion is strong enough to force it.
I say we stick with red, where we at least have multiple solid picks. Touch of the Void.
