And so for another Dominaria-related card...

    Windgrace, Urborg Scion WUR
    Planeswalker - Windgrace
+1: Any damage target creature would deal is reduced to 0 until the start of your next upkeep.
-2: Discard a card and draw a card. Lord Windgrace deals damage to target creature equal to the converted mana cost of the drawn card.
-7: All other players reveal their hands, Lord Windgrace deals damage divided as you choose among any number of creatures and/or players equal to the total converted mana cost of all cards revealed this way.

Black isn't chaos/evil so much as it is ruthlessness/self interest where white is bound by law and values the many over the individual. The color wheel is great in that it doesn't lend itself to black and white moral labels, things are mostly grey.

While I think this is an interesting idea, it would cause some issues with card distribution and set space. Sets would have to be much larger than they are now to allow each color to get enough cards to have varied deck options.

  • posted a message on Chandra and Ugin's fire
It is stated in the lore of the Jeskai Way that those who can control Ugin's "Ghostfire" are able to "transcend natural elements and alter their existence". As we know, Chandra has utilized ghost fire before in her battle against Sharkan at the Eye of Ugin on Zendikar. What does this mean? Do you think that this means Wizards has something up their sleeve for Chandra? Or perhaps the Jeskai legend simply refers to exceedingly powerful mages, like Planeswalkers?

I'd like to hope that this brings Chandra some sort of boon, though certainly not to the pre-mending Planeswalker levels of power described by the Jeskai. I do see some issues with this, however. "Ghostfire" is heavily linked to Tarkir at this point with with its creator(or at least, most well known user) being native to the plane and the best information we have about it coming from the Jeskai. Would they bring Chandra a new Planeswalker card in the Kahns block? It seems that she only just received an upgrade in M14 and it is doubtful that she would appear in Fate Reforged if Sharkan truly is to travel back in time. I suppose that she could show up in the last set but what would bring her to Tarkir? The last we saw of her she was chasing Ramaz. Or maybe the Jeskai myth doesn't mean anything or Wizards simply won't expand on it. Once again, what do you think?

Yes! I think this is a great peace of speculation that I also thought of when reading the Uncharted Realms thread. I think that we will get the ancient Kahns from Tarkir's distant past in Fate Reforged, possibly with some sort of Dragon brood leaders or something(that's baseless speculation on my part) perhaps 5 of them to mirror the clans, each being known for one of the clan aspects.

In Dragons of Tarkir I think that we will definitely have the clans being led by new Dragon kahns. I also hope that Dragons of Tarkir will have "alternate now" versions of each current Kahn. It would be interesting to see what becomes of each of them. Perhaps Narset will fulfill her "great destiny"?(whatever that is)

  • posted a message on What Does Each Clan Think of the Other Four?
Generally it seems the Temur don't care much about any of the other clans as long as they leave the Temur to their own devices. As such, the Temur most likely hate the Mardu, as the Mardu are constantly attempting to invade Temur land, and the Sultai, as we know from card flavor that the Temur were once subjugated by the Sultai into slavery.

The Abzan are very similar to the Temur in that they don't care about the other clans unless they're trying to disrupt their settlements or trade routes. Thus, the Mardu are automatically their enemies. We also know that they aren't too fond of the Sultai. It is at least suggested that they have a mutual understanding with the Jeskai, however.

The Jeskai seem to have no direct animosity to anyone other than the Mardu, only that their wandering monks seek to establish peace wherever they go.

The Sultai and the Mardu... everyone hates these guys. And with good reason. The Mardu are constantly raiding any cities they come across, killing the citizens and taking their resources. I can understand why the clans wouldn't be fond of Ghengis Khan coming to burn their towns every other week. The Sulati are extremely arrogant, believing they have a right to enslave and rule over the othe clans and they are obviously at odds with the Temur and Abzan.

  • posted a message on Hey people!
Hey guys! I've had this login for a little while but I've really just been lurking, and I'll probably continue to mostly lurk. I'm kind of noobish and not really looking to get into Standard at the moment(though in the future I may be, along with EDH and possibly Modern). For now, though, I'm pretty casual. Sort of a Timmy-Johnny-Vorthos, I suppose.
